Agreed, it is really bad. I’m getting killed in combat for it. I don’t remember any of the other maps being this bad when they were released

I didn’t realize that there are GW2 novels. Are they good for knowing more lore or are they kind of stories in of themselves (and little lore). Not to say the latter is bad, but just wondering.

I started playing GW2 when it came out and left, then came back last fall and am getting more into the lore this time around

Also, aside from lore, if anyone has read them, are they any good?

Since LW season 3 is my first in the game, I may start with Destiny’s Edge. That will give me a better knowledge on that group as the hero groups shakeup.

Good to know about the lore books, ty. With the ones that I’ve gotten from other maps I’m starting to get a “library” of them ALways thinking of that precious BP space

Last night I was booted while trying to complete the Master of Puppets achievement ( only 2 short ><). I was trying to find a way back in the manor but it looks like I’ll have to play the whole story again. Is this true?

If I decide not to go back, can I just get rid of the book that holds all of the letters the Caudecus’s Correspondence)? Are there any repercussions to trashing it?

If you don’t like Dragon Ball, at least it usually goes quickly so you can get the 2 rounds and get your daily. Though that jump-pad at the beginning is annoying.

I too found the snowball fight for Wintersday more enjoyable. Everyone kinda goes to the middle and dukes it out.

Yeah, also disappointed LNY isn’t more. It has a cool feel to it and people were telling me all about Cantha in the map chat (I didn’t play GW1). Kinda feel like that after 2 nearby holiday festivals that people are tired of them?

I’ve checked some past posts on this and think I can do it, but really want to be sure as I don’t want to mess it up.

I have 3 Zenith skins and the Radiant Vambrace skins in my inventory. I’ve added them to my wardrobe but they remain in my inventory. Can I get rid of them at this point? Is there any advantage to keeping them there?

Ah good to know about the 10 stack limit. I always thought it was 8. Tho, still should bail the pool at 8.

Also, if the Labyrinth Horror/Steve shows up during King Corn’s/Viscount battle, then try to kite him away from the Viscount. Tbh I’ve never seen him show up during the Lich. Maybe just timing?

Side note: this is my first Halloween in gw2 and the first time I saw a giant skeleton with a chainsaw pop out of the wall and start running toward me I was…. O.O Very fun

It still is something that you have to consider in story instances. Sometimes you have to use a canister if you die too much in one of those b/c there is no repair station.

My friends and I were in a similar situation a couple months ago. You’ll see there has been a lot of changes and a bit overwhelming. I spent a lot of time getting caught up on youtube (events) and the wiki. There were a lot of times thinking " Wait, didn’t we have to…" or “Wasn’t this the way?” situations where I had to go to the wiki to make sure if something had changed or not.

I would recommend HoT as it adds important maps and gliding. Also access to Living Story 3. Not to mention an 80-level character boost. Though you may want to play a while before you know you’re getting back into it. If you are truly getting back into it, HoT is worth it.

Otherwise, at least there is a lot to do, so you won’t be bored finding stuff to do.

Edit: also a new map is coming soon for the Living Story 3. So you’re right in time for that.

No it’s not that bad. You get a list which you can choose from and as such you can pick any pack, it does not have to match your race. I am assuming the op chose whichever he saw first and expected to be able to get the rest so the first pick didn’t mean too much. I did the same and simply chose the first on the list.

Wondering if anyone has good suggestions for an outfit. I have a warrior whose background is more a “tavern champion” and I wanted an outfit that wasn’t too flashy or bulky. Rather an outfit (or could be armor set) that is more a mix of armor an normal clothing. There are a lot of cool armor sets & outfits but I’m going for more of a scrapper-look that doesn’t look like a tank or mighty warrior.

I was thinking the monk outfit would look good or the pirate outfit. Any other good ideas?

Also, if I get the monk outfit, I can wear that right? I think so but want to be sure. It wouldn’t be the first time that I get something that I can’t use

Good idea for an event!

From a warrior who uses it a lot in PvE, it does have some good uses, but not the strongest weapon in terms of builds and damage.

It has uses like extra dodge and aim shot can cripple. Volley is nice b/c you can move and shoot (great against those Mordrem vine volleys) and lastly rifle butt is good in specific situations (honeycomb trolls in SW and south lane AB are the two that come to mind).

That said I don’t feel it’s as deadly as the longbow and hence isn’t used as much. Also the Kill Shot, while powerful, it really slow to get off. Many a times where I can’t get it off in time (typically b/c of something interrupting or people downing the monster before I can get it off).

Kind of hard to compare it to one-handed weapons since one-handed you combo with the off-hand? Maybe what you get for using both hands makes the rifle the most useless? (PvE that is, usually running around on my own)

Hmm, all could be a possibility, thank you for the insight. I like the event because it can be pretty suspenseful at the end. At least you can get a good idea at the beginning if there is a good setup (numbers in the map, how much chatter, commander tag or not, etc.), so you don’t have to waste your time :/

Would be cool, and you can have your guild emblem on the sail. Maybe if you had a boat you could have sand skiing like water skiing

Thought this could be something to do with the AB exploit but wasn’t sure. Recently I’ve seen times where people do the meta events right up to the octovine and then disappear or go afk.

Does this have to do with the multimapping stuff? Though would the multimapping crowd want to beat the octovine then do their map switching stuff?

Or is it that people figure there aren’t enough to beat the event to they just wp or go afk?

Just find it strange, but can understand if there aren’t enough people. You can do the metas and in the end have no chance to beat the octo. Happens in SW too.

Ley energy has been building up, culminating in a series of ley line events recently. It started a random energy, but the energy destroyed a number of researchers. Later the energy reformed in the shape of anomalies that rampaged across tyria, which is speculated to be the spirits of the researchers destroyed by the ley energy. After the bloodstone catastrophe additional ley line anomalies (pictured in OP) are popping in and out of existence trying to make it back to our world due to the weakening barrier and huge outflow of magic into the world. As is pretty obvious from their forms they are in terrible pain and misery but the only way to help them is to destroy them so far.

I don’t do a lot of PvE but this is something I would be very interested in learning more about as it really sparks that “what if…” feeling.

I was in a similar situation when a group of us just got back into the game last month!

I’d recommend the expansion. The 80 level boost is also really nice.

2nd Q 16 won’t include the 50% sale. That got my friends and I back into the game after a long time off. We’d always been wondering about HoT but the $50 price tag kept us away. We’re having fun with it for now, but we’ll see how long it will keep.

Not saying the sale will provide a huge boost (perhaps none) but it was a better move than nothing.

I like the idea of having some collections based around cooking. It would give a reason to craft some of the lower tier dishes. Maybe a collection or event that would change from time to time.

Which server are you on? Borlis Pass?
