My guess is, if you absolutely need a racial skill in your raid comp, then maybe you need to rethink it with different classes/different builds.
Because, there is no racial skill (to my knowledge) that doesn’t have a strictly better alternative as a class skill.
Why not The Abjured? They are almost undefeated in PvP, I’m sure they will be great PvErs.
I don’t think they really care about PvE raids, though.
Or at least, they should not, considering the prize pools coming PvP’s way.
Funny thing that happened on my alt account today, doing CoF P2 then P1.
500 AP on alt acc, 24k AP on main.
I’m not trying to grieve anyone, just thought the difference between the guy in P2 and the second one who insta-kicked me despite the absence of any AP requirement in his LFG is kinda funny.
(note that at the time of the screen i had time to finish the run with another group, get back to LA, sell/salvage/list on TP all my loot, and the second guy still hasn’t got out of his run)

I’ve been clicking that “send report” button every time for a year now (maybe more), and i still get those crashes, and i know i’m not the only one.
This is the 3rd time in the last 20hours or so, and i have to re-queue for more than an hour each time to be able to play.
Is this a feature to create a rotation of players on WvW maps or what?
And the error report… does it have any use? At all?
How many more of those do i need to send for something to be done?
Sorry if i sound pretty negative, but this is completely ruining my fun.
Or at least set up some kind of system for people who crash/disconnect/whatever to get back on the first slot of the queue…

As Helseth rightly explained on his stream about mesmer changes, there are better ways to improve this weapon’s AA. Giving it a kittenload of torment is not one of them.
So, when are we getting the results? :p

I think GW1 had even more customization than GW2 and that game was balanced amazingly.
GW1 had way less customization on the stats front. But a huge amount more in skill choices.

And GW1’s balance was completely broken btw. It was ok until factions, then it got bad, and then it got even worse. Why? Because they added too many skills instead of making the old ones useful.
+ GW1 was a full scale cooperative game, everyone had a specific role, and GW2 went on a solo scale, which means that even though a good team with a lot of interactions is great to watch, just force them to split them up and if they are bad in 1v1 or 2v2, they’ll just lose.
TL;DR: don’t compare GW1 and GW2, the games are completely different, and GW1 was NOT well balanced.

It does work, i’ve seen 3 engis do it with elixir S.
This is a really easy achievement for:
- engis: elixir S (+U for quickness, if you want to be sure)
- eles: mist form
- mesmers: not tried but i think using mirror images and decoy before you begin the stomp should give you enough time on the distortion for a clean stomp.
- thieves: just steal, press f, shadowstep away, shadowstep back.
The other classes might be a bit more challenging.
I did it on my guardian though at my second attempt. Watch dulfy’s video for tips on the timing.
So the achievements tied to Teq and Wurm is not an achievement since you rely on140+ people to beat them. The achievements for Marionette are not achievements because they rely on your lane to succeed. Also, the same personal skill you would use for Marionette is pretty much the same you would use for the knights.
Actually, Tequatl can be done with half that.
Most of the achievements for Tequatl can be done solo, some just need coordination between 2 or 3 people (like the turrets, i just ran with a hammer on the 3 south turrets and a friend did the same with the 3 north turrets).
Same goes for the Wurm, many servers that couldn’t decapitate the 3 heads in the first week just went on a rotation to zerg each one at a different attempt, and got everything but the actual kill of the heads.
So, not much strategy required there, just the same old huge zerg technique.
Plus you’re forgetting that these achievements are PERMANENT, i’ll just insist on that a bit more: PERMANENT!
Which means, you have all the time in the world to try to get in a good spot to do them.
As for the Marionette, you’re right, these were crappy achievements that relied on other people not being kittened, like those rangers with their bear just tanking the second boss…
Still, you had a whole month to do them, not 2 weeks
Actually no I’m not saying what you’re thinking that I’m saying. You’re just twisting what I said to fit what you believe. Not the same. I was in an overflow the other day with randoms that managed to beat all three in 7 minutes. There was no guild leading the event. A time before that I was on another overflow and we beat it in a little under 6 minutes but never got the achievement. You claim that you need high coordination that only a guild and TS can provide but you’re very wrong.
Nobody said it was impossible. I’ve been guesting on Desolation main server 2 days in a row, and we’ve come very close a lot of times. Still, you have to guest somewhere, have enough time to look for a good main server, or overflow. It’s a pain!
And it should not be.
Well, already spent 12 hours on this piece of kitten achievement.

If all you want to do is get the ending and kill scarlet there is a backdoor entrance on the Diverse Ledges. You need to build the back piece up to exotic quality (which can be costly if you don’t have a lot of iron ore around 1), but that should set you on your way to killing Scarlet.
Pretty sure all you need is the blue lvl 20 tier to enter the backdoor.

As for myself, i am once again blocked by an achievement that absolutely doesn’t rely on my personnal skill/experience/build/whatever…
How are we supposed to get Six minutes to knightfall, if even Desolation’s main can’t get under 8 minutes on prime time a friday night?
Just put more burn phases already, like every 10% of life or so…
Guys you’re forgetting half of the stream.
Crit is getting nerfed so that people do around 10% less damage, but at the same time, 2 handed weapons get another sigil slot, which can yield +5% damage or +10 depending on what you already have and what you want to add. And since nearly everybody plays a warrior with a GS. That’s in fact almost no DPS loss.
Add to that the fact that they’re changing all runes and some might give even more than the old scholar, and the possibility to gear full ascended. You are pretty much back to the same clearing speed as with full exotics.

Old Example: Pure of Voice for Guardian was removing 2 shouts when it said 1 in description. Everyone equipped Pure of Voice build. When they fixed it, everyone screamed nerf!
Upcoming Example: Spirit of Nature for Ranger currently healing for 480 per second instead of 320 per 3 seconds. Spirit of Nature is getting moved to 320 per second. Still considered a nerf!
Admittedly the 2 examples I gave would cost you at most 3s50 to change build, and changing your whole Ascended gears because of this nerf will cost you about 1000 times more(literally), but we should all have known that they would not leave 11% Critical Damage on Celestial Ascended Greatsword(where Zerker only has 10%) just like that, it was too good to be true.

This isn’t about a bug getting fixed. Or are you implying that these stats were a mistake? Like a dev typing in 11% instead of 10?
The point is: the only way to get celestial was to invest a lot of time in the game.
Some people went to commune on a kittening skill point every day for months just to be able to craft their gear. And now this gear is going to give absolutely no crit damage (ferocity) compared to the other stat combos.
Like OP said, this is a huge change that requires a stat selection option as with mf gear.
This was an old bug from fractured living story dailies.
I don’t know why this daily has come back everyday for 4 days now.
Anyway, it might not be bugged anymore. Just tried, didn’t get credit by entering ascalon fractal, so i ran it solo, and i still didn’t get credit by completing it. (screenshot below)
/edit: well never mind what i just posted, i went back to mistlock, rolled again for ascalon, and got the daily. (2nd screenshot)

Ok, i took more time to read all the previous answers, and i have something to add.
The thing with dailies, is that when they were changed from 4 PvE every day to 9 PvE (5 to complete) + 4 PvP every day, the message from ANET was: “we want you to be able to get your daily reward the way you want”.
So granted for a non leaderboard perspective, AND if you only do the 5 per day, it might sometimes be faster, or sometimes a little less than the old system, but still very quick.
But from a leaderboard perspective, it forces you to play what the dailies tell you to play.
I would much rather have a bunch of uncapped infinite achievements, that would reward everyone for what they like to play.
You could just do your dailies quickly in 15-20 minutes like before, and then you could get APs by doing what you love.
The APs reward would be scaled according to the average time you have to invest in them, but everyone would have a fair amount by doing what they prefer.
For instance, if A loves doing fractals and B prefers doing PvP tourneys, and if an average fractal run lasts one hour, and an average tourney game lasts 15 minutes, A can get 4 point every 10 runs, and B 1 point every 10 games. Thus giving them the same ratio of APs per time spent.
(This is just an example, i don’t have the data for these.)
But the grinding of APs through dailies has just gone too far, no matter what kind of player you are, and what your goals are in the game, it’s getting in the way of doing what YOU want. Noone can deny this.

Total support with OP.
I have been thinking of opening this exact thread ever since i learned about even more PvP dailies.
But my english isn’t perfect so i’m glad i’ve waited because you’ve mentionned everything i was thinking about much better than i would have.
When the game started, i wasn’t so sure about doing all dailies. And with the first monthly (august) being bugged on my account for the survivor part, i thought i had missed out. But i sticked with them, and found places to do them in 10-15 minutes, and after that i could go and play the game however i saw fit.
Then the system was changed to 9 PvE dailies + 4 PvP dailies, and the leaderboard was introduced.
At first, it was fun to see every people trying to complete what they hadn’t done yet. But soon, we were all at the same point: a few achievements still missing here and there but not much and the only way to go up in the leaderboard was to not miss out on any daily or living world.
I went from 190 Eu to around 55 Eu (it varies a bit depending on who does his/her living story or monthlies fastest) since the launch of the leaderboards, and it wasn’t because i did more to go up, it was only because higher ranked people stopped grinding the APs or stopped the game.
Now we’re up to 14 (sometimes 15 like the last 2 weeks of fractured living world) PvE dailies, and 8 PvP (including team arenas wins, which could take hours to get for a player who doesn’t have a team), and it’s getting in the way of me enjoying the game the way i did before.
The idea to get the daily APs in the daily reward chest is great.
Whatever ANET decide to do with the rest of the dailies (money or karma or experience reward), they should definitely start by that.

We’re 15 top in the keep, you have like 20 people on the wall with who knows how many catapults (we managed to destroy a few) and a treb, you’ve got at least 25 people as shown by the orange cross (looked more like 40 to me from above) in front of the door, and you still need a treb outside, just to be sure.

60 v 15 and can’t even man up enough to ram the door, but hey if you say we’re the ones zerging… xD

Every single server we faced since the change of matchup has done exactly what you guys are doing. Bringing the biggest zerg you can manage to go against us evil wrongdoers of Vizunah, and whine like kitten when we respond with a bigger zerg is just sheer hypocrisy.
Stop blaming us for this metagame, we’re just defending our rank here.

The weekend i stop playing. I get a most happy sight of viz in t2 lol. Making by there own logic just another server regardless of 29 medals. It will show you are 4th not in t1 this week.

This minigame is fun for a while, granted, but winning it every single day is just a pain.
Keg brawl (which is way more fun and balanced imo) has 4 or 5 different objectives and is included in a rotation with other things. So why is crab toss different?
It doesn’t even need more publicity. On a day without keg brawl daily, the keg brawl arena is completely empty. But crab toss is always populated. I see A LOT of guys winning it and staying. So maybe they are farming karka shells, or random green loot, or maybe they in fact love this game, whatever. The point is, everone now knows this game exists. Please make this achievement rotate with others, and like OP said, a few other objectives for crab toss would be nice.
@Kaaboose: nobody said it was hard. But with the disparity of connection qualities, it can be really painful.
For instance, when i pick up a crab, it doesn’t matter if i spam dodge or the skill 3, if someone is near he will inevitably steal the crab. But when it’s the other way around, the guy manages to dodge.
And i’m not even starting on bugs, like even score between 2 players grants the win only to one of them. Or like sometimes there are 2 crabs in the game…

I don’t see any problem?? If you are RED, it’s because you are supposed to be RED with this new matchup!
RED team is supposed to be the lowest ranked server of the matchup.
They have a slight defensive advantage on EB.
T1 matchup is still unchanged, except for wrong colors on ER and JS.

How do you get the “daily unique maps played”? I’ve done 5 different maps in a row and the thing is still stuck at 0%…
The fact you seem to forget is that boredom will inevitably set in someday.
Players who did every single daily/monthly since launch might very well go to another game once they reach what could be called the 100% achievements on everything else. (That excludes PvP and WvW tabs, obviously.)
I know i am getting tired of doing them, especially since they have changed format. It used to be doable in 10-15 minutes depending on luck with events. Now you need a full hour or more if you want everything.
Oh and by the way. The top player of both Euro and NA leaderboards must DEFINITELY already have The Emperor, so i wouldn’t count too much on these money sinks titles to catch up.

As you can see, the daily/monthly represents such a high proportion of the total that new players, or players who had no expectation of leaderboards will never have a chance to ascend via merit.
I’m sure many of you will be able to compare these scores against your own achievements and see that there is one, and only one, factor differentiating #10000 and number #1 and that is the daily/monthly grind.
Ok.
First: The remaining total of points once every tab removed is not only dailies/monthlies.
There has been a lot of achievements reset (like completed slayer achievements going down to 999 so you only had to kill 1 mob of each category to get the last tier points again, same goes for weapon master, gold banked, and probably many others).
So before even talking about removing dailies/monthlies from the leaderboard, you should ask for “bug points” to be erased.
Second: this “PvE” leaderboard is bogus anyway, cause it includes points made in PvP and WvW.
And finally, who cares really? If you really like to do all achievements then just do them and be happy with the “completed” on each progression bar. What difference does it make if you spent less time farming points than others?

I usually do a big part of my dailies in Metrica. I’ve been doing them there for several months (the old daily format was really fast there for me, like 10-20 minutes depending on luck with event timers).
Anyway, one event I used to see almost every time I went there was the gathering of raptor eggs for Ploint. It was basically always up, and a nice quick 2-events chain for a solo player.
I don’t recall seeing it for at least a month now, and i can’t find any reference to it in update notes.
Is it a bug, or was it just too easy so it was removed?
If you mean to tell me that 1 round tournaments with no entry fee aren’t casual then I’d prefer you stop posting here.

It goes like this: player launches random join on 1 round tourney, waits around 15-20 minutes for the thing to start, at least 1 guy in the roster was bored and left. 4 random begin an absolutely ridiculous match vs a 5 guildmates premade.
The worst thing is some guilds are actually playing such lame builds, you can sometimes almost win… Woohooo!!!
And before you answer: no, having to find a group on a vocal isn’t casual. It’s certainly more efficient, funnier even, but it is NOT casual play.
Seriously? This is getting freaking annoying. When someone stealths, the pet should drop targetting, until the owner re-engages and attacks themselves. Pets should not be heatseeking missiles that just lock on to the target after stealth. Fix it, fix it NOW!
Stealth is already the most OP mechanic in the game. Thank god summons and pets get the aggro back.
Any monkey is able to engage 1 vs 5 and escape with his thief or mesmer nowadays, don’t ask to make this 1 vs 100, thanks.
