So far so good. “One small step for WvW, one large step..”..no its small but its definitely good one.

Agree with Chaba. In order of priority based on what I think could be done without a complete rebuild of maps: 1) drop the gimmicks; “I want fricking sharks with laser beams” was funny in a movie but here its just bad design, ..seriously who cares, 2) put waypoints back in keeps..allows for response to defend..one of the best “old” ways to actually get fights and helps movement around these maps that are rediculously big 3) drop 6-9 servers from the line up and allow free transfers up for short period of time 4) rethink about how WvW matches the name of your game “Guild Wars” vs use of server based approach when servers seem irrelevant in days of megaserver. 3 years in and while I like the look of the maps (they are beautiful) what happened with HoT WvW design..is a mistake. Mulligans please:)

Shout out to BG posse..especially RISE. Good scrims and brawls. We will bring a wee bit more A-game (mmmk maybe B game) for you next time. And not sure why but some of the best small ball/havoc stuff in a long time. You guys are most welcome back..even if you would rather not:)

A great community that manages to hang together no matter what. Lots of players in search of good commanders, and guilds that enjoy WvW. Lots of play-styles, from Havoc to I dare say, the required “Voltron” to fight the blob. Join up and get ready for the expac. #hype!

Even if all you do is watch, its a great game mode. 15v15, 20v20 – it can be a blast even for those who don’t play this style much. You can take what you learn to the rest of the game, be it tPvP, WvW etc. For those of us waaaaaay past PvE, this is the end game. It can be a blast. You have hands down the BEST combat system in the game. sPvP is fine..but endorse the scale! Invest and you will see.

Ok Anet…for crying out loud..the lag is stunningly obvious and bad. It did happen after the stab changes. Not sure that is the reason but that’s not the point. I have good gear, great connectivity but for any reasonable sized fight in WvW there is at least a 2-5 second lag. This..is pooooor. Please fix.

So much “this not fair!” Meh, fair, smair..learn, adapt or go play AA..hear they are looking for players. IMO Part of the fun in this game is learning to adapt to a new play-style..just to see if you can. Agree with above post..many are adapting and its fun to fight while everyone is working out the kinks.

Think about that warrior now..20+ stacks of stability for 10+ seconds. Yes! Oh wait…there are still necros, Ele’s that can stack stab just as high and pew pew rangers? NVM. Carry on..weeeeeeeeeeee Have fun…its a game.

Shameless plug for a great server. So many fight styles with some great guilds! Look up any of the above posters and they can help answer questions or direct you to someone who can. What are you waiting for? Do it..you know you want to:)

Not sure if this was mentioned in other thread on this subject (how to fix population imbalance.) But you could try servers based on time blocks. Outside the timeblock, shut the servers down. This is just a concept!

Seems two primary themes continue whenever WvW is discussed: Lack of new content etc, and population imbalances e.g. “its all about coverage vs skill”. On the subject of population imbalances etc. finding OCX/SEA coverage these days on the NA servers is like finding a unicorn..its somewhat mythical outside of T1-3. Even in T1-3 it exist to varying degrees. However, if a server has it, and lands a match vs one that doesn’t..the match is over at least based on the metric (PPT) created for determing “winners.” So, create time zones for servers, perhaps something like this: “NA Prime” (5pm to 2am EST), “OCX Prime” (1am to 9am EST) and “24/7” those servers open all the time. Within each time zone, have 3-6 servers, perhaps 6 for “24-7”, then 3 in the other two. Outside those timezones, the server shuts down.

You will still have to pay to transfer into the server grouping you want to play in, but if you are a NA prime player, and don’t want to worry about having everything rolled during OCX, a very discouraging event for all servers playing in say T4-8, you wont have to.

These are some cons to this approach e.g. if you pick a time slot, but your real life changes such as job change so your game hours change, you could be locked out of server block and have to pay to get into another.

But this will address the population imbalances and smooth out some of the time zone based elements that are causing big challenges to the competitive nature of this part of the game.

As for content..oh wow. Got a long way to go. But, you should try new things, even if small, more frequently, listen to feedback and move on. Test, tinker, and then add or delete. You need to go much faster with development pace in WvW. At this point, I think most ppl will take the experiments as sign you care and are trying..even if they don’t turn out well.

Oh..and I don’t think free transfers is the answer within the current system for reasons previously mentioned.

By far one of the best categorizations of the state of the game/tiers etc. I have seen. Well done. Some will undoubtedly argue with certain aspects..but this is spot on.

Having been on a server on the bottom that rose to bout the half way point, and then bumped onto that ceiling called “little OCX/SEA coverage”…pretty accurate from my perspective.

Ok, S3’s over and like many servers, we have seen some retirements, as well as departures..but have also seen some new arrivals (welcome Rum, DVIL, Lgn!).

And we are slowly coming out of the PvE fog known as Halloween something or other – phew. Looking to stay competitive in silver, while recognizing life matters…work, school etc. Its a game, not a job. If you are looking for a great community, with lots of players who have been playing together for long time, but very open to new people, hit me up here or in game.

Now that seasons are over..and hopefully everyone has got their fill of Halloween PvE (omg) looking to get back to business. Devona’s has a very good NA prime presence, a solid community and the guilds work well together. However, its no secrete we do have coverage gaps and would like to get the help of some EU players.

If you are looking for a place where your WvW contributions can go along way, we have a place for you. Oh..and you’ll get those fights. NA Silver has them across all time zones, and its usually guilds vs guilds (scale varies) with an occasional blob battle thrown in.

Appreciate the approach and the experimentation. There will be some good results..and some bad ones..but the efforts and “real life trials” are sorely needed.

Love to have you on DR! Getting some lumps in Silver, but giving a few as well. And no matter what anyone else says..I think we are having the best matchup of the S3 right now. Less than 2K separate all 3 servers (DR, SBI, NSP) for most of the week. To be fair…DR, NSP, SBI would all welcome you and would be good choices. However…agree with previous posters..things are going to fluctuate wildly after the seasons…wait a few more weeks if you can.

Great people in a great WvW guild! They play hard, and have fun doing it. Easy to coordinate with and absolutely wreck it in game. Hit them up for an outstanding WvW experience.

..er this thing on? Oh there we go. So..one of the unofficial mayors of DR here. Been here since the days of routine basement dwelling. Wasn’t fun. This is. A group of people playing the game they want, but finding a way to make the whole better than the sum of the parts.

We still offer major server events…a druken ranger zerg that is best in the game, a ladies night that will force you to cover the ears of the younger players, specific times to practice server wide tactics..and many guilds, small and large who simply like to “get after it”, play hard and have some fun. These are a few of the things we do..the rest we can’t put into print.

They emphasize the fun while still being able to kick @#$ in WvW. If you play predominately in West Coast/OCX time, I can’t recommend them enough – but they have players on 24 hours a day:)
