I’d like to see Mystic Forge recipes to cull unused items from Black Lion chests e.g.
For me I will never be using the PvP boosters, and I have tons of these.
Or the Black Lion Merchant Express
I’d love to see recipes that give you a chance to either cull unused boosters (I know we had them during special events) or a chance to make an item into its permanent version.
4 x Black Lion Merchant Express gives you a chance for a permanent version
The boosters, they could be used in a random chance, get back a mini set, name
change, anything that comes from a Black Lion Chest
It would also give incentive for more people to buy keys
Low levels should not qualify for level 80 exotics at World Boss events. The loot table should check their level and if they aren’t with 5 levels of the event the exotic should be removed from the drop for them. Why ?
They contribute nothing, their dps is negligible
They increase the health of the World Boss just by being there
Other players have to waste time rezzing them, usually standing in fire to do so
They attract adds to your group due to their low level
Examples, we have a level 18 on our server who regularly turns up at the Tequatl, Shatterer and Jormag events, his low level attracts adds into our charzooka group, gullible level 80s go down from the debuff rezzing him at the feet of Jormag (an exploit ? We even have level 40s at the event who hang about down there.), on Shatterer he perches in safety on a rock at the edge of the group (yet another exploit ?). So in conclusion, along with making it one chest per boss per account with the next patch, also remove the incentive for freeloading spongers at high level events, whatever happened to working towards something ? Get to the appropriate level and help out, it isn’t hard !
There’s also the problem of low levels (extremely low level) at high level events. They’re a selfish pain, farming for exotics at everyone’s expense, expecting everyone to rez them, even if standing in fire to do so, so they can profit ! They contribute nothing, attract adds to your charrzooka group on Jormag, when overflows are happening they’re basically taking the place of players the event is designed for. I mean whats the point ? The highest rare you’ll get is 39 and once in a while you may get a single exotic. We have a level 18 at that regularly turns up at the Tequatl, Shatterer and Jormag events, and tonight we had 40s at Jormag as well. Its getting beyond a joke. Get to 60, 70 or 80 and help out, it doesn’t take that much effort, don’t be spongers !!!
Great comprehensive reply Matipzieu !
I’m worried about our small guild being able to get involved in these guild events too.
We have 4 members who play most nights, and are working hard on getting 2 more.
All of us playing at the moment are ex-WoW. Our guild was formed by a group of hard core WoW raiders and actually has 24 members ! on the roster. Unfortunately after MoP hit they all left GW2 and returned to WoW for raiding. The four players left weren’t hard core raiders and stayed on, sadly the other 20 haven’t returned :-(
Seriously Anet, are you trying to make GW2 a laughing stock like its bigger cousin ?
WHY bring Pokemon into the game ?
http://www.guildhead.com/achievement/233/monthly-mini-pet-champion
For that other game it was a blatant attempt to bring in more subscribers by aiming at the children’s market
I’d hate to see this great game become a kiddie’s game too :-(
He’s my suggestion, NO, just NO to Pokemon in GW2 !
Is this still happening ? Or am I having a couple of really bad weeks at jumping ? Especially in the WvW jumps, I’m failing a lot at jumps I could make easily before.
Very frustrating !
I’d love to see something as an alternative to PvP and dungeons at level 80. In WoW, SWTOR etc. raiding is nothing but an endless treadmill gear grind designed to keep you in the game and paying your subscription fees, Arenanet fixed this by removing it, and replaced it with …… nothing. I stopped playing SWTOR when I came to the realization that despite its improvements all I was playing was a WoW clone dressed up as sci-fi. I know this is a hard ask, no MMO that I know of has come up with an answer to this. WoW tried to solve this (and failed miserably imo) by introducing Pokemon. SWTOR had gimmicky, rail shooter, space battles, but what if instead of this they had an Elite style system ? Something similar to Chris Robert’s upcoming Star Citizen ? It would also have to be something really long term. I would be back playing SWTOR in 2 seconds flat if it had this. But in a fantasy universe such as GW2’s ? Player housing ? (I’ve never played an MMO with this, lots of players asked for it in WoW), An instanced Lion’s Arch (Any city) expansion pack that would breathe even more life into the city ? I’m sure there are many ideas players could come up with.
I’d love to get 100% map completion of Cursed Shores but …. the Temple of Grenth on my server, Fergusson’s Crossing, has been contested for 2 weeks. No one seems interested in clearing it, Cursed Shores seems deserted except for farmers and those who clear Arah to get access to the instance. Myself and a thief tried back then and failed, we ran out of time. With the temple contested you cant get to that last skill point. Can I suggest that you either make a small area around the skill point free of the damaging vines, or make it that to get access to the instance this Temple must be cleared and not that event with the risen wizard (?).
On a similar issue, group events in deserted areas, would love to do them on my alts, yet there’s usually no one around, its kind of sad, it seems like such wasted content when this happens
I would absolutely love this ! Making them scalable from 1 to 5 players as the OP suggested is a brilliant idea. I would also add to make group events soloable when there’s no one around or little or no interest shown in doing them by other players. Cathedral of Silence has been contested on my server for the last 2 weeks, stopping 100% map completion of Cursed Shores for me. When this place is contested you cant do the skill point north of Graven Cay
I hate this aspect of the game as well. Never been a fan of PvP or MMOs with shared PvE and PvP talent trees. Absolutely hate how my class ends up getting nerfed through no fault of its own because of PvP. This is one problem that GW2 shares with WoW and has failed to solve. Having said that, thanks for the tips in this thread, will use them to try and get my 100% map completion. The biggest problem I can see now is how to get 100% map completion at Cursed Shore, cant do the skill point North of Graven Cay as no one does the chain quest to free the Cathedral of Silence, tried it once 2 weeks ago with another player but we ran out of time on the group event.
Yet to try out PvP in this game but this is why I absolutely hated merged talent trees for PvP and PvE in that other unmentionable MMO. PvE players suffer through no fault of their own from PvP nerfs. GW2 solved many problems plaguing other MMOs but not this one.
Fergusson’s Crossing too
Only into PvE but I agree with this.
This should only show up on your mini map during WvWvW not PvE.
I don’t want it made any easier, the part I find terrible about it at the moment is that there’s far too many people doing it, making it hard to see whats coming up or the edges of platforms. Would have been fantastic if you were there by yourself. I’ll wait till later in the event when hopefully it’ll be quieter and a lot of people would have done it by then.
I cant seem to fit any gems in this, gems that have no level requirements
the following events are broken in Iron Marches
Defeat Bria to rescue the captured cubs (event is complete broken. Bria at 0% and nothing reset)fight life stealing minions in hellion forest(being unable to finish bria even is also hindering lost spirits, with spirits being stuck in a tree 30 feet off the ground)
escort the iron shipment to cowlfang’s star(2 event npc’s unable/unwilling to move)
Broken or stopped on Fergussen’s Crossing, Bria is no where in sight, shadow/fear ward placed across the door
Saw an unusual style of botting in Divinity’s Reach today.
A group of around 8 botters (all identical looking Rangers) were taking it in turns to die, then the rest of the group would all rez him “earning” xp, after being rezzed the dead player would teleport to the back of the group while another player would take his turn to die, I guess to avoid any cooldowns. Other styles of botting include teleporting to their next targets, often long distances, groups following exact paths, and they love to hide out in caverns lol, possibly to avoid detection from being reported. I’m sure Arenanet are doing what they can to stop botting, but this must take time though, each report individually investigated. Also really sure they don’t have Activision/Blizzard like resources too, so that would be another factor in these things taking time.
I’d LOVE to see this ! Was actually going to do a post about it till I spotted yours
I’d prefer random events, not events that you could set your watch to. Hidden areas.
With rewards like a key that would allow you access to different unexplored parts of the city. One of the things I used to love in that other MMO was when players found different ways to kite high level NPCs to the city, which were then quickly stopped because NOTHING was ever allowed to happen to PCs in a city, as it would deter from the gaming experience for new players. This was pure bs, those sort of things used to break the monotony of nothing ever happening in the capitals.
Ah its okay, I logged out and back in, can now interact with it
Anyone else having problems with the last activation panel in Spekk’s Laboratory in that it cant be interacted with ?
This is the one that activates the 4 golems
I would love to know this too, when I created my account the Email Authentication feature wasn’t available. Now I cant tell if it is enabled. Also, Authenticators, when ? Which forum should I ask that question in ? This game really needs them. They would profit both players, Arenanet and would cut out a lot of hacked account tickets.
