I’m getting huge healing ticks with my mediengi build. It won’t keep me alive under sustain as well as healing turret, but no one else is going to die.

Slow is a very powerful condition that the chrono can apply effortlessly. People will start whining. Alacrity is nice, but the short durations on it seem to mostly go unnoticed by me. I was hoping alacrity builds would have a place in PvE builds, but the current reflect phantasm builds are still looking better, especially since slow is wonky on enemies with a break bar.

Having tested GW in pvp, I can say it is a powerful skill IF people would stay inside of it for the complete duration. Float opens up a plethora of combos and dropping it on a contested point with your teammates is a nice way to relieve pressure from the enemy team. Dropping it on downed players is extremely handy in team fights where the stability and the incoming cc would force the enemy to disengage. With that being said, outside of those two points, GW does not perform better than other elite options. This is especially true now with Continuum Shift. Getting the float is near impossible. Overall GW forces people to disengage, but that’s it.

Tips on Fighting a Thief in sPvP?

Use 4(III,IX)/4(II,X)/6(III,V,XII)/0/0 sword/sword, scepter/focus and you will eat thieves and warriors alive. It’s all about timing, when the thief gets off a stealth, you go into stealth and wait for him to pop. When he uses the stolen item from you, use arcane thievery to steal 3 buffs, making sure to watch out for a dodge. Use your blocks effectively, you can use them when he goes into stealth, but a smart thief would know not to attack when you’re using a riposte skill.

What are these skills and who uses them?

To clarify on Ascended Gear...

I can buy exotics off the TP, I now have to grind a dungeon to get new gear with better stats and an infusion slot, a now required defense, in order to progress effectively in the dungeon. I didn’t mind grinding a dungeon for skins, I wasn’t bothered when I couldn’t make a run, but this is different.

So all the exotic gear I worked hard for, the dungeon skins anyway, are going to become obsolete? I hope someone can correct me on this, it’s ridiculous. I’m not going to spend gems on t-stones.

A general PvE/Dungeon build utilizing the mesmers ability to keep up sustained vigor for constant dodging. The build is a hybrid shatter/phantasm build, even though the only phantasm that’s good is iWarden, the amount of damage it can pull off is amazing.

If you want to sacrifice damage for utility, you can drop domination and put the rest into inspiration with Glamour Mastery.
For the weapon sigils and armor runes, I’m a little unsure, it’s based on preferences, but I’d advise going precision/power gear because the crits proc Critical Infusion for that important vigor.
For utilities, you can swap them around based on the situation- Blink over Feedback for melee mobs, for example.
General Strategy:
I start off with Chaos Storm and while inside use Phase Retreat to gain Chaos Armor.
Chaos Storm is an amazing ability, applying you with a plethora of great buffs especially aegis, this can be a life saving skill.
Mind Wrack is your most important skill, use it for this first clone. Mind Wrack along with Illusionary Persona will apply long lasting vigor buffs, for you team as well, and cause massive damage.
Switch over and cast iWarden, the warden will combo confusing bolts applying heavy stacks of confusion to nearby enemies and apply bleeds with massive aoe damage.
Blurred Frenzy, Utilities, Temporal Curtain- which can pull mobs without aggro btw-, are used whenever needed.
Dodge when necessary and frequently, I make sure I have enough endurance for when I need, otherwise I will dodge to get clones for Shatter fodder.
Mind Wrack phantasms when they outlive their usefulness, iWarden finishing his attack or iWarlock after this initial attack.
Other Shatter skills are generally unused unless the situation calls for it. If your mind wrack is on recharge and you desperately need vigor, use Cry of Frustration. Interrupting needed? use Diversion. Distortion can be a life saver when you need to pull off an important heal.
Shattering in melee range is important to pull of Illusionary Persona, so this build requires being very reactive.

I think they gave a reason why they haven’t split PvE and PvP, I don’t remember from where, but this is something needed desperately in game. GW1 was amazing because of this. Mesmers in PvE did not deserve this nerf on their phantasms.
