Think the map and living story are great.

The amount of items we hold in our bags now keeps growing. I get that petrified wood is hard to put in the purse because you can also salvage it. But can we please please please put like the chak acid in the purse with our currencies? It is out of control if you are going to keep putting in new items like these every map.

I love how we have polls on tons of things but when it comes to resetting glicko it is a never asked question.

So many servers have imploded over the years to cause the glicko walls where they are at now.

With the server linking I thought for sure they would reset the glicko since it won’t be accurate. This serve relink there is 4 servers together and still no reset.

Makes no sense but taking out crafting is a priority.

Hi guys, I just wanted to respond to a few concerns:

Why does this poll need a 75% majority?

• Honestly, we had a difficult time deciding if this poll should be decided by a simple majority, rather than a super majority. When we first decided to start polling, the team decided that whenever we are making a major change to the existing game, that change should require 75% of the community to agree to it. We wanted to avoid anything close to a 51/49 split. Mixed Borderlands definitely falls under the category of a major change to the existing game. However, what made the decision harder, was that polling only started relatively recently. Had this poll existed 6 months ago, before we ever started rotating borderlands, it likely would have been decided by a simple majority instead.

Why does this poll not have an option to remove the Desert Borderlands?

• As per the above, we require 75% to make a major change (like permanently removing DBL.) If we try to ask two, or more, 75% questions in a single poll neither is likely to achieve that requirement.
• Prior to this poll, the community reaction to the Desert Borderlands had seemed much more positive. Forum posts approved of the changes we had made to the map in the April 19th release, and were largely in agreement that the map had noticeably improved.
• We believed that those that were hostile to Desert would be less so if the Mixed Borderlands feature allowed Alpine to live in harmony with Desert, rather than replacing it for 3 months. So we wanted to provide this option before creating a poll about removing DBL altogether.

What’s next?

• We’ll poll the community to see if at least 75% of them would like to see the Desert Borderlands permanent removed. This won’t be next weeks poll, but likely the week after that.
• If players vote to remove DBL, then the results of this poll will be void (as we’ll only have one borderlands map.) Otherwise, we’ll move forwards with the results of this poll.

Based on what was seen on forums pre DBL going away and post DBL. There is a 0% chance there wouldn’t be QQing in some form. Day after Dbl went away there were posts (and more then a few about it) complaining that it went away. A medium of a combo of them seems the most sensible answer.

Now if only we could get the all underwater map !

This has turned into potentially the dumbest thread this forum has ever had going…

For those that are complaining that dailies aren’t casual enough. What is more casual then going to a vista, the almost ever present “harvest/mine/log”, or the prob 20 other options that are casual/easy to do.

At this point you aren’t saying they aren’t for casual players. You are saying that they don’t do the like what 5 minutes of gaming you do where you stand in a city?

I have had nights where i just wvw, just pve, just pvp, hell just map complete and I haven’t had to go out of my way to get them done really. I am not sure how much more casual you want it to be short of just “let me login and give me ap”.

I think based on the comments here most people are in agreement that the rewards need some type of update. I think what the update is too is very debatable and all have their merits and potential issues.

Just to call out a few the black lion key’s and fear of flooding it is no different than when they put keys in reward tracks.

For people who have already past chests they can retro reward players… that is how they gave out the chests the first time anyhow.

Overall I think the best suggestions were: more gold at rewards, keys, bring back random skin give aways. ( I am still hoping that every 5k you get a treasure chest weapon reward (make it acc bound and w.e. its fine)

My issue with the complaints about dailies not catering to casuals is that from start of game to now they have added more ways to get dailies done and made them pretty easy.

Perhaps you could share what you view would be good dailies?

Not sure what this is going to accomplish. People who wanted to stack servers transferred up to higher servers than they were on. Or since linking went to the low servers that were linked with high tiers.

I think overall the linking has been a success even in Tier 3 NA the fights have been great from small engagements to big fights during Late NA when I play (sure the annoying condi thieves are getting old but that is player preference not matchmaking fault)

Don’t see new servers as doing much.

Dailies are a joke…. Can get them done super easy regardless of how much or little you play.

Since linking, alpine back, and more match up variance (even though just a bit more than before) It has been a blast on mag.

I am 100% on board with revamping the achievement chests. Ever since the pvp skins were taken out they feel extremely lack luster. I am not sure what would be a good thing to put in with them.

Some ideas that come to mind (even though I am sure there will be push back heavily on this) is:

1. random mini in 1k chests or even just the 5k
2. weapon skin from the treasure hunter achievement every 5k
3. boosters
4. bring back random skins!
5. T6 mats (I don’t want this but its better than nothing.. or karma that you can get quickly)

Also and yes this is a bit selfish..if you do revamp them. some retro rewards would be kinda nice.. I know it wouldn’t be easy since there are account bonuses etc but yeah haha

The Tier 1 Weapons will be made available in an upcoming Reward Track, much like the armor already is.

We haven’t fully decided how to distribute the T2 Weapons and Armor yet. Though, we are currently leaning towards players purchasing them with a currency that they’d earn as a match reward. We may also set rank requirements for the various pieces, so you’d need to be a relatively high rank(1-2k) to purchase a full set.

Just wanted to say as a WvW player this is great to read. Not because you are implementing it but because you are reading the questions being given and responding that it is something that you are looking at and will be looking into the future. As well as some realistic ideas.

Lately it has felt like a serious breath of fresh air that arena.net as a whole has done to the game and really revitalized it.

Agree or disagree with the changes the communication is outstanding and really makes the game feel like its growing not dieing.

Agreed though as some pointed out it is kinda like a line into Brisban from Queensdale to make people think. Aka that portal in Brisban top left that bandits have been building forever.

That is really the only option the player has right now to be sure they can safely go AFK in the game with out getting the boot from a GM. Just changing location (in PVE combat zones) or moving to a non-pathed area in your farming spot, is not enough as you may enter combat during your AFK session.

This isn’t true. If you need to go AFK just go AFK. I’m sure the GMs (and most players who report) can distinguish the difference between the two.

I won’t report a player for being genuinely AFK. I will report a player for AFK farming though. The difference is definitely clear when you see it.

Completely agree. From what I have read here everyone understand the difference between going AFK and AFK farming. This has turned into a law debate basically on the definition of words and how it sounds.

It is simple if you are AFK farming, which as per this thread, what people claim in game (that do and don’t do it) and reddit (the holy grail). If your purposely leaving your guy in a place to get rewards while you are out for long periods of time (going to the bathroom isn’t this stop using this as a reason) then your AFK farming and your subject to w.e. Anet has deemed is penalty.

If you don’t like the risk….don’t do it.

Thank you Tyler. Its understandable that there wasn’t enough time to work on certain issues before bringing alpine back, but I dont think many people would have minded 2 extra weeks if thats what it would have taken to fix the issues. I mean we didnt even know when it was coming back, you could have postponed until August lol. This issue was constantly being reported before HoT, there were many many threads. Nostalgia has nothing to do with genuine concerns for map flaws especially when it comes to things we see as exploits. These things need to be a priority for fixes.

All that being said, love the work you folks have been doing recently, and thanks again for the great news

Just have to put this out here. If the dev’s had said that they were going to delay for 2 weeks. People would of been on the forums crying like they are now.

The end result is they changed maps back to the literal word everyone was asking. “bring back old maps no changes” So many times People on forums and in game kept calling for it and that is what they gave. If they delayed for 2 weeks the stream of crying about it be probably as annoying as it is now.

Also really if you own someones ne or nw tower and they need to do that to get it back. Walk away and declare yourself the victor. You are already basically spawn camping them then…

This is a great idea to reset them all. It will erase the epic collapses of servers from years ago. I am talking about ET,HOD,IOJ, and the biggest server to cause the glickos to go crazy SOR. SOR’s collapse helped cause/ is basically the main reason T1 has the giant glicko wall it has from T2.

Like I said it isn’t necessarily like the most prolific accomplishment out there. Just was an eye catcher in that they were able to keep the tick high enough to hit 800k. I am sure it is easy to do the math on max points with no kills that can be gotten in a week. 800k will be a score that shouldn’t ever be repeated haha

Yeah like i said ive seen multiple 600k+ matchups but never a 700k and deff not a 800k

Yeah it was just kind of an eye opener. i have seen tons of 600k weeks but I don’t think i have ever seen since this game started a server crack 700k let alone 800k

Just had to put this out there has any server before hit 800k points for the week? I know it doesn’t necessarily mean much but I think DR took ppt to a whole new level this week in their matchup.

The bluntness and cut and dry of the post by MO is great to see in my eyes. There isn’t a wondering about what is going on. Even if it is unpopular I am glad that he is just being communicative and forthright with what is going on and the direction it is going.

What I am interested in hearing is how will the WP situation be handled. Will it go back to old way where you could use any you owned or the current way.

inner cannon can hit those catapults. Cannon on the inner gate far side hard shot to make but its 100% doable. super easy to defend against.

maguuma vs i forget who in smc. All 3 servers spread out inner outter and all 3 levels of the castle. Mag ended up pushed onto a platform on 3rd lvl and we started portaling people up to hold our “embassy” we called it. 2 hours later we finally got killed out but was an amazingly hilarious time

Hilarious this thread is at 3 pages.

All I got from this thread is:
1. BG can’t handle anyone claiming the aren’t best

So I’m not trying to white knight with this post but I was reading this thread and I just was blown away with the responses.

People complaining with the fact that WvW is actually getting attention. complaining that in a few days they are making a decision but you been complaining for years blah blah blah.

I really hope that people stop complaining about them doing work on WvW. It is a 0% chance everyone will like any change, it is virtually impossible. Lets just be glad that they are listening to what the gamers are believing are the issues.

As for the DBL complaining tons tons tons of people were complaining about the alpine before expansion. Don’t try to sugar coat it like it was the best map ever made. The DBL might not be good by any standards but there was a lot to be desired with the Alpine.

Everyone needs to follow the example that myself and Gaile has set. (That is correct I got Dev support here.) Quaggans are vital to gamer development in the game.

Quaggans are vital to maintaining and growing, emphasis on growing, the player base across all facets. The sooner people understand this the sooner people can really enhance their gaming experience.

The dev’s in their limited support of Quaggans understand that Quaggans are above Skritt and rabbits and asurans combined.

That is why all Quaggans are green names, and yet you can attack skritt, rabbits and asurans.

2. Why is there no Quaggan rank in PvP? This is by far the most egregious of errors on the dev’s part. We have Dolyak rank, Tiger Rank, Bear Rank even and even the evil rank of Rabbit.

Wait a minute right there bub. Rabbit rank is the BEST rank. There’s nothing better than stomping someone in PvP and proudly displaying your Rabbit rank flag. Ok. I’ve never actually managed to stomp someone without a teammate helping me kill the person but that’s beside the point. If I could do it, there would be nothing better.

The Quaggan mistreatment is an issue that has touched every facet of this game. I feel it is more important than even (gasp wait for dramatic affect) killing the Elder Dragons, SAB AND Xushin’s meetings combined.

I just busted my kitten to get the 1:20 required time to get gold. As the screen shot shows I got 1:20 and it did not give me gold this is absolute crap that they aren’t working correctly.

We are still recruiting, we are an active guild that likes to play most facets of the game and keep a laid back and mature attitude towards it. We do guild missions typically every Friday!

We also do guild missions, and some other pve related things when WvW starts slowing down at the end of the night.
