Great post Aereniel, however I would just like to say that “wait till the expansion” should not even be needed. They have a working ladder which all they need to do is restart… (and I know the ladder might be shot but at least it’s something. The problem also is that this game with the ladder would keep me intrested until the expansion, meaning I would buy it, but as it stands I will probably get into a different game in this time waiting and will not be buying the expantion due to that.

This is part true, I did not want to comment on game balance as I have not played enough as of yet to know what the balance is exactly like . However even if the game was perfectly balanced what would keep me playing? Being as competitive as I am I need something to strive for and I just do not have that at this moment.

I have come back to play GuildWars2 after 2 years of not playing

I was before purely a SPvP and really did love the PVP combat, so I thought that I would come back and give it another try. First of all I log into the mists and find the the new PVP build page, this is a great Idea makes it really easy to do your builds however you can still not save your builds!? Then i go and want to change weapons and realize I had to go and buy a weapon, why is it not listed like all the amulets? After that I remembered all the armor that I had earned previously only to find out to change the “skins” i needed Transmutation Stones. I then go in to play some games and find servers just farming xp… (Easy was to fix this would be just a flat win a loose xp bonus…) Then I decide I would play some ranked games as this is what I came back for, so I go on play some games only to find out that the ladder is disabled… (For what I am guessing is until the new expansion when they release the new system)

How are you going to keep my interest? This is the exact same problem the first wave of PvP players left as you are playing for no reason, no progression just random games. Also after about 10 games I look in my inventory and it is just jam packed with random boxes. I open these all up to find a load of mats a bad armor, please can someone tell me as a pure PvP player why the hell I would want all this? I just seems like a pain in the kitten to have to sort though after every game.

I was really looking forward to getting back into this game but after 2 days of playing I am already loosing interest as what is there to play for? You could tell me to wait for the expansion but if the game does not hold my interest until then I am likely going to get back into another game and leave GuildWars 2 behind.

It seems after two years this game has not sorted any problems within SPVP and this is really disappointing as the combat has the potential to be something really special and all you need is a working ranking system for solo and teams…

We have experience in competitive play however we have just come back from a long time in not playing but we are eager to get back into things being very active players. the competitive side of things. I put our ranks there however i do not believe that means anything.

We are looking for a serious team looking to play in ESL games and scrim on a regular bases.

You keep saying you are reading the forums and Rerroll comes up with a good idea to have everyone’s thoughts into one survey giving you really good data on what people think.

Then you just go and kill the thread!

The thread was very constructive and I hope people keep posting it if this goes down again. It is like you are trying to hide away from the mistake that you made with this patch!

Also Rerroll please keep doing these. It is a very good idea and really shows what people think about the game in its current state.

As it seems that there is a lot more players looking for a team than any teams at all I am will be looking at making a team.

I cannot believe that more people want another game mode rather than a ladder system!

people need to understand that one of Arenanet goal with this PvP is to make it into an e-sport. The game mode is pretty good for an e-sport as it is easy to understand, tactical and very fast paced. Also most e-sports around only have 1 real game mode so I don’t see why having one game mode is a problem! Also please play the game with a team if you do not already, find some people to play with and you will see how fun and tactical this gamemode is. But yes ele at the moment is kind of ruining the game a little right now, making it far to hard to take a point and with very little skill, once this is fixed and ladders are added this game will be so sweet!

Other (Anything else that you would like to add): Hey, my name is Damon I am 18 and I am British student ( yes, i have lots of spare time :P ). I have played Guild Wars since release in a team filled with real life friends who have stopped playing. I have come back to start playing again due to hearing about a ladder system being introduced in the near future. I am rank 30 however I have not played in around 3-4 months and I am learning the new changes fast.

I have played a lot of games competitively but never as serious as I have wanted. I am looking for a competitive team who has a goal of becoming a known team around the competitive community, also I want a team who is always up for a good laugh and joke with a good sense of humor.

Forgot to add that we are an EU team, so for any confusions.

Our team, “Game-Veteran” is looking for 2 more EU players to complete our SPVP team. The 3 members involved played lots of SPVP on the first month of release and stopped playing due to only being able to play free tournaments. Now payed tournaments are up and qualifying points are ready to earn, the team is planning to come back however 2 players are needed for this to happen.

We are looking for 2 roamers, 1 warrior with huge burst damage and 1 thief with also huge burst damage. These 2 players objective will be to roam around our points going to any point which need backup and make quick work of the attackers.

The players must have a good sense of humor and have much experience in playing within a team. They must know there class and have plenty of tpvp experience with it.

I really think this is the best way to solve the problem, I think maybe the 9am to 5pm should be changed for weekends, but other than that I think it would solve the problem that we are having at the moment.

I also have many friends thinking of quiting the game due to the lack of pvp content, i.e. ladders and payed tpvp

Add “i sharpy i” to friends and wisp me.

The TPVP community could really do with these updates, many people are loosing interest waiting for any update on other features.

Anet, we really do need information about this before people just start leaving the game behind!

Yup, I am thoroughly displeased with anets handling of their supposed grand e-sport.

Totally agree, you cant start an e-sport by ignoring the PVP community, we have not had an update on the problem in ages and this problem is nearly a game braking one for many.

The problem is this is a game breaker for many people and it does not seem like anet are treating it as such. There are many players who all they want to do it tournaments and not being rewarded for doing so, is very annoying. What is more annoying is the fact that we have had near to no updates on the matter making me think this is going to take a lot longer than we all want.

Not a good way to start an e-sport.
