Its simply a worth of time. I am fortunate enough that my time is much more valuable then grinding to get legandaries.

Its a lot cheaper then bottle service at a nice club for 10 people and I get to keep something.

When I go to buy gems says to contact support to contact my identity. This has been a issue for many months.

Why is this important? Sometimes a price on something I really want has dropped and I want to buy gems to convert to gold so I can get it.

Then it goes back up and makes me sad =(.

i believe i can also (never tried)… BP > HS+ Steal with mug and then BS

i read somewhere i can HS and steal together and get the mug damage and HS damage but never tried

The point of the post is not lost, because everyone who played thief knows that we need to get those timings down and find our rhythm may it be from dueling or just running random PvP a lot. So that’s kind of a given since everyone agrees on that matter.

You also posted builds and an image of your thief, so that is also up for discussion.

It’s not very hard to be good with that build. Kill a target in 2 seconds, or run away. It doesn’t get much easier then that. Personally it just feels too easy for me. I love to use pistol/pistol as my main weapon set, with Blinding Powder and Hide in Shadows as stealth triggers, while also stacking poison with shortbow.

Well I am happy for you that my build is “too easy”. I really had to work at it.

After playing my thief for a while I have gotten really good pvp/wvw.

If you go back and read any of my posts (not that you care) I asked for a lot of tips on stuff… at times I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t critting for huge numbers like those guys in youtube videos…

A huge game changer for me was getting into a guild and asking people if they wanted to duel. I dueled against class and kept asking who was the best. It didn’t take long until I started to see their moves and when not to attack.. mostly..

I play a s/p & sb thief that is a total glass cannon. I BP/HS into stealth – BS – mug then depending what I stole I will do a HS for combo (chaos armor etc) evade away wack wack bp/hs etc its not hard and with the BP/HS combos you get to land a free shot and not loose stealth. Not sure if thats a bug but its pretty awesome.

Its a very easy combo and very deadly (for me). I know when to run. I kill people fast or I run. There is no long battles for me. I feel comfortable going into a zerg from behind and picking off someone/stealth kill then escaping out. If its a big zerg fighting they never even notice half the time.

Anyway I just want to say if your feeling frustrated cause your getting rocked in wvw or pvp and just want to get better then duel people. Sometimes its not you, its just the other player is REALLY good.

This is where dueling comes into play big time. Find that guy that is REALLY good and duel him until you figure out how to beat him.

Sidenote: The toughest thing for me was mesmers. This will probably make some of you laugh but I never used to mark my targets. I also notice a lot of people don’t. It makes a world of difference ….

Anyway you gotta find your style. These forums are great and some amazing knowledge and input here but in the end some of the combos here are too complex for me.

So what does that mean then for a game where you play a thief?

In my mind it should be a VERY high risk, high reward class.
In and out.
If you miss you pay the price.

Land your chain and take out a foe in 3-4 hits max.
You take their chain and you die fast.
You miss you die or run your kitten off.

“Out like a thief in the night” so to say.

I really don’t care about cooldowns. If someone knows I am in the area then I should be at a disadvantage IMO. A theif should never be engaged in a battle one on one with someone for very long. It should be over quickly. Win or lose.

In a huge battle a Thief IMO should pick off people that are doing long range weapons.

A thief, IMO, only has stealth to rely on. Once spotted they are in deep crap.

I am really trying hard not to get to specific but I feel like the class is doing down a dangerous road that doesn’t meet my personal definition of a thief.

Anyway how would you define a thief and do you feel our class is meeting your definition?

How many of those other stats do you use?

Do you apply many conditions? Do you use any heals that get a decent healing power return?

Sure the extra vit and toughness with the prec and power are nice but if your looking for big hits rather than survivability (which is seems you are) then your getting a lot less bang for your buck.

Rubys give you twice as much power and 40% more precision compared to divinity, meaning bigger regular hits, bigger crits and more crits (the fact your running with a base 37% crit rate it seems means your really relying on hidden killer at the moment)

I see what your saying… but where do I get higher crit rate from? The ruby orbs are just damage crit multiplier? You get maybe 5% more crit rate?

Well I havent noticed hitting any harder but I die so fast… You must have to really pick and choose your targets to make that spec work.

i have lower p attack /critical power then you and i often crit for 7-8 k
My lethal blows usualy come when enemy is arround 40-50% hp i stack x10 might from shadow refuge and i refill initiative -then the backstab makes them cry
And to detail it : unde 50% hp /over 6 initiative / 10 stacks of might = 20% +10% + arround 12% – is an 42 % damage diference.
Anyway , why you stack so much hp … is way too much

Sounds like I need to drop HK for the below 50% one.

I normally ever see higher then 5k on a bs from stealth.

I tried to search with no luck.

My strafe left key seems to stick on various computers and keyboards. I have to just smash a bunch of movement keys and it wont stay.

Anyone else have this problem? Like I said I would say its just my computer or keyboard but it happens on 2 different desktops and my laptop.

It happens after i hold down the key for a while during a fight.
