Legendary Armor shows up as salvageable gear

Hey everyone,
Not sure if this has been mentioned before but here goes.
I noticed this while salvaging things individually using the silver-fed salvage tool.
Legendary armor does not have the typical red tinted overlay indicating that it cannot be salvaged like ascended armor does.
I didn’t click it it try – for obvious reasons – but I figure that this is something that should be clarified on.
I’m sure the support teams would give people back legendary armor that they salvaged by accident, but still. Probably shouldn’t be something we can salvage with a regular old salvage tool.

A much needed nerf/fixes. Finally!

Ranger since launch here.
I don’t have too many grievances with the changes, though the reduction in healing will probably throw a wrench into my DPS build, forcing me to integrate some of my cleric trinkets/rings into the mix to maintain my ability to survive. Haven’t had the chance to play yet though, so who knows, maybe not.

Nevermore- Worth It

I mean, I think it was worth it on one hand.
But on the other the intense amount of mind numbing farming I did burned me out so hard, I haven’t been on for more than an hour a week since I finished it in March. I need to find a support group (or a guild) to get myself back into it.

-or-
Dear ArenaNet,
This topic of whether or not the game is too difficult has been ran into the ground by a vocal minority on both very polarized sides of the issue. While I share sentiments of some of the more reasonable points, I think that it’s starting to get out of hand. The constant debate over whether the dev team should implement changes and nerfs or stay the course and maintain integrity is getting old, and I wonder how many of those people are actually taking time to at least TRY to enjoy the game. There’s so many threats made to “never play again” if changes are or aren’t made, and it feels a little inappropriate. Even when we’re displeased with the outcome of a situation, we don’t have to be so melodramatic as to throw our hands up and renounce our support. There’s still so much fun to be had, it’s like setting the house on fire over a few bothersome pests. Myself and several players in my guild were disappointed and concerned with some of the nerfs that happened, but recognized that it was in the best interest of allowing players to get into their elite spec sooner. Although we were disappointed, it hasn’t taken away from the fun we’ve had exploring, progressing, and overcoming challenges.
In that light, I hope this thread can serve as a place for people to talk about why this has been a great expansion so far, and how you all have done a fantastic job in spite of the frequent negativity being cast your way.

Sincerely,
Someone who’s been enjoying HoT immensely, good with the bad and everything in between.

(Ehmery Bay) Pride Of The Legions [ROAR] is a new guild looking to recruit players of all stripes!
Like literally, stripes, spots, whatever your fur pattern is, if you’re Charr, you’re welcome!
If you’re not, you’re still welcome but the other Charr may make you wear a silly hat.

Doesn’t matter if you’re just starting or you’ve ran the world boss circuit so many times you have nightmares about the Shatterer having a tea party with the Shadow Behemoth and Mrs. Nesbitt, we’ve got a spot for you and we’ll keep it warm with our butts when you’re not using it!
We have a mumble server, and a website with forums is currently in the works, and look forward to founding a fun, relaxed community that embraces individuality, weirdness, the occasional round of bullkitten and shenanigans.
Give a shout here or in game if you’re interested!

Because we know balance is important from a development standpoint, but don’t really care. Some requests are reasonable, others not so much. We wanna do what we wanna do, human nature.

Mmm-unacceptable.

On cities;
While we’re obvious the only species in the real world on our planet to build cities and other fortified living areas, building is far from a uniquely human trait. Birds, bugs, even some fish show aptitude for creating shelter, and those are lower species generally regarded to be not-so-bright.
The Charr knack for feats of engineering doesn’t take away from their beast-like nature. They hardly lack the eloquence of human architecture, eschewing form in favor of function. The Black Citadel is a massive chunk of iron, welded and cut to manufacture a home. Outside of that, most Charr settlements are very basic, consisting of tin shacks with no doors or other forms of insulation. So comparing Charr construction to human doesn’t really mean that Charr are exhibiting human qualities.

On warmachines;
Necessity is the mother of invention.
The Charr have been embroiled in war since god knows when. Stands to reason that, when confronted with a new threat or more formidable defense, an intelligent species will strive to overcome it. Charr, being brilliant engineers, would naturally look for ways to bend the fires and metal that serbes them in every other way into an indomitable force.
Think of it as higher functioning animals using rudimentary tools and weapons in our world. The Charr are just quite a ways past those early days. Nowhere is it implied that a grasp on science and engineering causes a species to go through complex physical and physiological changes that would normally come about due to prolonged (think in the millions of years) exposure to a changing environment.

I’ve fought Tequatl over 600 times in the past year, averaging twice a night on multiple characters, in a sick Captain Ahab/Moby kitten style obsession. All for his hoard.

Spoons.

Spoons every godkitten ed time.

Another riveting episode of “I don’t like X. Change it!”

The Charr look fine. They’re beastmen (and women). If a creature is faster and more comfortable running as a quadruped, why would it walk upright when it didn’t need to? Look at apes. They usually move on all fours in spite of having clearly developed hands on their forelimbs, and feet designed for walking. They walk upright when it suits them, but at a clear disadvantage. You can even see this emulated when Charr move upright. When relaxed, at a walking pace, they practically waddle. When they move with speed during combat, they take long, loping steps. Lore implies that they are a savage, ferocious species. Their stance, hunched posture, and mannerisms concerning mobility are what makes them the less human, and thus, from a lore standpoint, fearsome. Making them stand straight backed and upright with a bipedal gait humanized them to the point that they may as well not be a beast race.

TL;DR why would you play as a beast race if you don’t appreciate their beastliness?

Nice to know we risk punishment for having lives.
