Same here. Logged in today to about a 3000ms ping an ability delay of 2 min. 5 min loading screens everytime i ported and chat would not even appear. And no its not my isp i called them to make sure it wasnt on my end or theirs. I could play fine when HoT launched but performance has gotten steadily worse. Then was kicked off and have been unable to log back in.

Mastery Level 7. 1 in tyria and 6 in HoT. just finished elite spec earlier today via mix of HoT challenges and some wvw for proofs (okay wvw gave me half the points i needed). It’s not that hard and really only takes a day or two. The journey was fun.

They should move all the hero masteries to WvW so people have a reason to go back into WvW.

I happen to be an avid wvw player. don’t really need a reason to play when its my preferred method of play.

Most people that got the HoT Portal/Invite to the beta will sit and play it as if it’s early access.
Few will actually find bugs, try to reproduce them and actually report them to Anet

(This is the purpose of a beta test by the way – at least it is imo)

It’s just a shame that people who farmed DryTop/Silverwastes to try to actually beta test the new expansion will miss out vs players that will spend the time playing and “having fun”.

I’m not against having fun, but that’s not what at least in my opinion a beta is for

Second VW event ever. Had been in silverwastes less than an hour. Honestly was not even there for the portal as I was achievement hunting and gathering mats for making ascended/legendary gear.

I’ve advertised my party on LFG for days and still no luck. I’ll keep trying until I get a run though.

I have been trying for 2 weeks to get a group just to do one run of the storymode version of Honor of the Waves so I could unlock the pvp track for it. And so far no luck. I gave up asking in map chat after being laughed out of it for asking for help.

Can’t you still buy siege with badges though? I mean you could buy siege and sell it. Not that it would make you a fortune but it’s at least some income.

Most commanders don’t want other people in the zerg to have their own siege, and they don’t want normal siege they want upgraded siege or guild siege.

So you’d actually be spending money and skillpoints to upgrade it to send to your commanders, not making any money.

Most commanders I’ve met on my server are extremely grateful for any siege donations they get from the zerg. Hell we even tip our commanders in gold sometimes depending on how they do.

Worst they can say is no. And if you are polite in your ticket they may just make your day.

D/w is more effective as a powermancer in pvp than d/d.

I’ve had more luck with dagger/focus. the extra low cd chill and boon strip has been way more useful to me than extra speed, though there are times I wish i had the speed.

Granted I am still new to pvp (however I don’t play thief, I play everything else). I was in the same predicament you were. However I finally figured out how to position myself, and how to prioritize my targets. And honestly I think that is half the battle in pvp. My winrate has started to go up since then. However knowing your class and at least a little about the other classes will go a long way in helping you improve. Just keep practicing and you will eventually get it.
