If it all goes to a quest chest; than you have that thing cluttering up you screen all the time…
I’m mostly ok with the bags, but a way to just summon all bags to me (maybe an npc at each waypoint?) would be wonderfull for missed bags/bags I stare at while dead. Also if they lasted longer…
It was just one suggestion, I also said it would only appear after you left WvWvW, much like a daily being complete.
Thanks for participating in WvWvW! Here’s your reward!
Yeah, it’s a terrible system.
But, it’s better than it used to be, you used to have the bag drop at the body not at your location.
I can’t even imagine why this hasn’t been fixed/changed yet.
I can’t help but think of the quote, “The technology isn’t there yet”.
But the software engineer in me can’t help but think that if they can read my players location to spawn it at my feet (Player object access?), why don’t they have access to my players’ inventory to place items there.. it’s quite frustrating indeed.
I honestly would prefer if it was like every other reward system in the game, so when I left WvW for the night I got a nice big glorious chest of loot to deal with and vendor the junk.
I have a tip for players that have troubles with their lootbags because of death and so on:
Play Ele, get downed -> mistform -> run arround spam F -> A.) hope for rally to keep fighting / B.) die after collecting all lootbags
My girlfriend does play an Ele, however her mist form is specifically used to drive straight to my character screaming SAVEEEE MEEEE in my ear. At which point we often both end up dead without loot bags
Sad times, I really wish this could be a better system.
“Has been told plenty of times too..”
I searched the forum for “loot bag” and I couldn’t find a single post of people complaining about it :s
Maybe I just missed it, but all the talk about them I saw were things like:
“Glad that you had fun! I envy the amount of loot bags you have gotten. I’m sure I was one of those, hahaha!”
" my loot bag rate is terrible or I would have had screens haha 25+ kills 0 bags = proest thing ever hee hee"
Is this not the place to complain about this? How can 60 people viewing the WvW thread not despise this atrocious loot bag system?
Has there been any announcement on changing the way WvWvW loot is obtained? It’s extremely tedious to remember to spam the F key while playing. In addition, I’m constantly reminding my girlfriend to go back and fetch her loot bags so she can obtain her gear upgrades. We both get quite frustrated having to do this.
Can’t it be changed to be more in line with dungeon, daily, monthly, zone completion and fractal reward chests?
Maybe something along the lines of when you leave WvWvW you’re presented with a chest of your obtained loot while playing?
As someone who just started WvWvWing rather recently, I’ve been putting quite a few hours into it and have about 400 badges of honor (Maybe 600 if I didn’t miss so many).
If someone could point me to a quote where they say they are going to address this it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Is it a violation to purchase the game for someone else and simply provide them with the game code?
A recent report I read claimed that their girlfriend was banned for this reason alone.
I am concerned since I bought the game on my credit card for both my girlfriend as well as my step father. Are their accounts at risk as a result of solely this?
Thanks,
Ryan
I just bought the following items:
[Knight’s Masquerade Gloves]
[Knight’s Masquerade Boots]
[Valkyrie Masquerade Leggings]
[Valkyrie Masquerade Raiments]
All of these say “Soulbound on use”.
I purchased 4x [Major Rune of the Doylak].
These items became [Knight’s Masquerade Gloves of the Doylak], etc.
They still say “Soulbound on use”.
Since I’m a warrior (Heavy) I cannot use these items, and bought them for my girlfriends elementalist.
When I try to mail them to her, the slot is red and I cannot mail them.
This is extremely misleading if this isn’t a bug.
Did I just waste my 5 gold?
Thanks, very irritated.
A bleed will not outperform a burst warrior in PvE.
Pretty much search “Gw2 conditions 25” and you’ll begin to understand why.
It’s pretty much globally accepted that burst warriors are some of (if not) the best dps in the game.
It seems to be very much linked to the daily leveler requirement.
Feb 27th, 2013 – Completed 6/5 with daily leveler (simultaneous action), no chest.
Feb 28th, 2013 – Completed 5/5 without daily leveler as an option, chest.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they have temporarily disabled daily levelers from the requirements set, but I haven’t been home today to check out the requirements on March 1st, 2013.
After missing out on my 7/5 dailies complete yesterday and not getting a Laurel… I’m trying to decide the best course of action to ensure I get one today (or not waste time doing them at all)..
It seems to me that ensuring I don’t level at the same time I get my 5th daily complete is a good place to start.
I really want that laurel.. they are very limited and hard to come by, doing all the work and not getting one REALLY sucks, I’m quite kitten off about it.
Just happened to me as well, 6/5 completed and no rewards / laurel.

I’d be happy if you’d let some of my conditions work on Objects, like Burning for Example….I can understand bleed/poisoning..but if hitting something wooden, I’d think my Burn would do damage.
This is a second problem as well that we are also addressing. Thanks for bringing it up here.
Not just damage, but more damage… because you know.. super effective.
That’s a lot of typing before I determined your issue was with bleed stacks.
Ah yes heh, I probably should have prefaced the post with RE: Conditions or something of that nature.
While for me in particular it is bleed stacks, I’m also trying to bring awareness to the fact that even those of us who don’t play condition based classes and specs are also frustrated by this implementation and want to see it fixed before any other major commitments are made (In my example, an expansion).
First off, I get it. I’m the direct damage dealer that’s completely unaffected by this issue that leaves many players envious of the fact that I get to play the game the way I desire while being an effective group member.
This doesn’t make it O.K, and it doesn’t mean I’m O.K with it.
I want to:
- Have class diversity in my groups
- Have build diversity in my groups
- Have a group of people playing the way they want to play, and being good at it.
I don’t like being the guy who says “LF 1 Mesmer + 3 Berserker Warriors”.
Arena Net is doing little (nothing) in the way to correct this problem, and players are turning against players. Listen, I get that you’re frustrated with your class being less efficient than some others in PvE speed runs, but please don’t take this out on each other. The root cause needs to be fixed, and only Arena Net can do it.
I don’t want to be the warrior that steals the bleed slot from a condition based class.. I get your frustration and I apologize. Everyone needs to collaborate and make sure this issue is of top priority to the developers to be corrected.
Just because I myself am not directly affected, does not mean that I don’t have friends who aren’t. In addition, it’s clearly visible I am indirectly affected based on how I choose to compose my groups for maximum efficiency and seamless play.
I will continue to play my warrior and love him for the time being. However, until fundamental issues like this are corrected and there are steps taken to ensure condition (and any other!) based classes can thrive with the rest of us, I will be unable to trust the developer for helping out the community.
What are the chances that ArenaNet puts out an expansion prior to fixing this fundamental flaw? Based on the recent postings of their stance on the issue, this seems quite likely.
What are the chances that people who love their classes being based on conditions will return and make such a purchase? What are the chances that people who care about balance and diversity will?
I can’t speak for the former, but as a member of the latter I would be extremely unlikely to buy any expansions until core issues like this are resolved. I want to support your company, I want to expand the community in your game, but you have to show the community that you’re willing to return the favor.
The bottom line is, I want this game to be fun, fair and balanced for the range of classes and talents offered.

I have no idea how this hasn’t been addressed yet. ArenaNet, stop dancing to viral videos and fix your game.
Video (40 seconds): GW2 Quick Switch Bug
Description: As in the video description, after quick switching sometimes I am unable to quick switch back with the hotkey or mouse clicking the shortcut button on the action bar. The only way to re-enable quick switching is to do it manually from the character select screen. This happened multiple times through my stream.
Is there evidence here as to what’s causing it, or how I can avoid it? Is anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks,
Ryan
Is it just me or are the servers for pvp extremely laggy? I see players teleporting everywhere, attacks on a target are delayed and missing completely because they take up to 5 seconds to fire when there is sufficient combat happening.
It’s extremely frustrating to do a ranged attack on someone who appears in front of you only for the game to jump them around a corner behind a wall when the attack finally goes off.
I play on a gtx 670 (60+ fps constant on a core i7 CPU) running from an SSD.
My internet connection is a 50 meg down / 50 meg up unlimited data Fiber optic connection.
No other games exhibit this behaviour, and it only occurs in these public available servers. They seriously need to be restarted or something.
How do you spend 5 times as much time repairing as in combat? Do you die to a lot of wolves or something?
They bite at my heels occasionally… It’s all wear and tear. Oh and those moa birds get a smack in a run by when I’ve had enough fun holding W. Sometimes I mix it up and toggle R though.. I like to mix all the action up.
Would it be possible to implement a system where by I can select my destination location in a WvWvW map, and have an Email sent to me when I finally get there?
Don’t get me wrong, I love my W key, just as much as i love the other 25 letters if not a little bit more… ASD are also up there..
On a more serious note…
WvWvW Breakdown

The ONLY thing I could see is that you automatically unlock the skins of the gear you have in PVE.
That’s not a bad idea either, although getting gear in PvE in this game is extremely easy and takes almost no time.
Gear doesn’t have a place in pvp. That’s one of the things GW2 got absolutely right from the very start.
I’d love to see their PvP participation numbers. Not the numbers that say “this player has tried this once” but rather the ones that show of those who log in daily, the percentage that actually do structured PvP regularly.
I have a hunch at what they might look like.
While I agree that gear should be differentiated from tournament and competitive environments, I don’t think it should be for casual play on a daily basis or the only option to players.
So having been a WoW player before, have you ever gone up against a person in full conquest gear with a T2 weapon while you were in PVE gear with zero resilience? It was pretty ugly because the person in conquest gear would almost 2 shot you.
If you wanted to grind the gear to eliminate this gear deficit you would then need to grind for honour gear then to conquest gear which would take about 10 weeks at the minimum weekly conquest (not accounting if you got over 1500 MMR to increase this). After this, you would finally need to grind to 2200 MMR for a weapon. Do you know how long this actually takes for just wanting to be competitive in PVP?
So what you’re proposing is implementing a gear deficit which people would have to grind, rather than the current system where you’re put on equal footing in terms of gear and there’s only a cosmetic grind. I for one am fine with the current system because we aren’t instantly killing people that aren’t in equal gear.
While largely true, there are still some very big differences here.
- PvE gear has the same “resilience” stat available, known as Toughness which is also useful in PvE content to an extent.
- Duration. I acquired my full set of exotic gear in about 6 hours played, this is (I’m sure we can both agree) substantially less than traditional MMO’s.
Also I’m not implying that the people who already participate in, and love sPvP are going to like or engage in this system. This is for the rest of us, and I’m sure we exist, that don’t like the current implementation and would rather see the system being discussed in the thread (I’ve edited my OP).
oh new game modes sure
wouldn’t mind one Team DM map, one CTF map and one Demolition map. Just for variety’s sake xD
This is what I would like to see implemented. Independent of WvWvW, not a form of sPvP, just a place where level 80’s with their crafted/found/purchased gear can PvP on a smaller scale (ie: 10v10, 15v15).
Oh another pve’er that wants to use his “hard earned” gear to pwn people in pvp instead of outplaying them. Move along.
I’m simply asking for forms of PvP that are scaled down WvWvW.
IE: 10v10, or 15v15. It can still remain completely independent from any sPvP that exists in the game.
No.
You’re asking for us to need to grind gear to be viable in sPVP. You’re asking for dedicated healers. You’re asking for specifically the things to make the game worse, to make it like old boring games like WoW.
The reasons you liked those things in WoW are nostalgia, because it was your first MMO, your first high. It will never be like that again, even WoW is not like that now. It’s a bot-infested, unbalanced, unplayable mess.
Just no. You’ve heard the explanation a million times. Just no.
Go play something else if you want those things, or adapt to the new in GW2. It’s your choice.
My first MMO was actually GW1, and I played a monk healer I didn’t start playing WoW until Burning Crusade.
you do not like pvp since you cant have gear that gives you an advantage over other players. Interesting…
Not what I said. I’m quite ok with everyone having equal gear.
Give me a set of gear on my character that I can equip to PvP with and I’d be fine with it.
These are some good points, I love fighting people but I dislike spvp in GW2 because I feel detached from my character, I worked hard and fair to get my exotics and skins but all that goes away when I join the mists….
Which is why I prefer WvWvW.. but it still limits my options, I wish there were indeed battlegrounds where you play your ACTUAL character.
Or do you mean you get your kitten owned when you pvp against people with equal gear footing?
Not at all really, It’s more of a character things. If they put the PvP gear on my character as a set of gear I could equip before going into it, I’d honestly like it more.
The only way you can play as a team in GW2 is tournys, have you tried free tournies?
But, i think its a popular request for more variety in pvp.
If I’m not mistaken tournaments still use “fake” or gifted characters. That entire implementation in an MMO just seems out of place to me. As I mentioned in another reply, I really like the idea of being able to use my own character geared out the way I’ve worked towards obtaining.
Being given free gear on a random character could be great for LANs and actual tournaments, but it isn’t something I agree with or enjoy on a casual basis.
I hope people continue to request more PvP concepts then, specifically of course, traditional battlegrounds.
Have you tried every profession? As you’re saying “healer” is the only thing you like. But Anet has stated quite a while ago that there wouldn’t be a bealer class in GW2.
A small group (your gf, and other friends) could form quite a resistance in WvW. Its all about battlefield tactics and movement. Predicting your enemy and knowing choke points.
As for SPvP (what this forum is about), you will have to unlock your looks. Otherwise complete beginners would be running around in epic looking gear. While pvp’ers have spent a lot of time trying to unlock it. Totally removes the feeling of reward for pvp players who don’t like to play PvE.
Well and theres still WoW
Oh and: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/structured-pvp-iceberg/
I haven’t tried every profession up to level 80. I have played them all to the point where most weapon skills have been unlocked however. With the most time spent on Warrior, Elementalist, Necro, Guardian and Ranger. Admittedly, I haven’t put as much time into Engineer, Thief or Mesmer.
I do realize that coming into this game there wouldn’t be a specific healing class, and I’ve come to accept that. Most of my time in WoW was spent on a warrior and a priest, so I knew what to expect. However I will throw this out there and say that melee combat in this game feels substantially more clunky than any other MMO I’ve played one in. Not being able to move while executing certain attacks makes me feel like a caster… except in this game they can run and cast freely! It hasn’t been a good experience overall.
I’ve seen videos of people, namely 1 person, forming a group of 4-5 people who can hold off a zerg on a choke point. However, this is far from the norm and very rarely happens. The fact of the matter is, I don’t have the 50 or 60 close friends I’d need to make up a significant portion of the team. Compared to a potential 10v10, or 15v15 battleground, where 4-5 of us could play, the odds and ratio’s are much more favourable and as a result, in my opinion, a lot more fun.
As for sPvP, I see what you’re saying. But those are not the mechanics that bother me. The main issue is that I can’t use my own character in sPvP to compete. I can’t earn gear in fractals or smithing and use them in pvp like I can in other MMO’s such as WoW or Rift. I’m gifted a baseline character to use and every player is on a fair playing field. This works great for some games like Counter Strike (which I love) but I don’t like the way it’s implemented in MMO’s. I do tend to have an attachment to my character after putting so much time into him, I’d really like to be able to use it in a battleground.
Yeah there is WoW, you’re right. But it’s not perfect, as there’s obviously a reason we stopped playing it to come to this game! However, we really were looking for greener pastures on the other side, and needless to say we both feel pretty let down. I can certainly see that there are various game modes and things available for a wide range of target audiences, however we’re not in the group and are having a real difficult time trying to find reasons to log in, that’s all.

I really find this game has nothing to offer me and this is something I’m looking for.
PVE: I dislike all aspects of PvE in gw2 because I cannot play the healing role (doesn’t exist). As such, PvE has been nothing but extremely disappointing.
WvW: I dislike this because you as an individual make up much less than 1% of all the people participating. Your role, contributions and “accomplishments” are negligible. There are simply so many people beating their heads off each other in here that I get no feeling of being important or making great plays. At the end of the day, you’re just as useful as the automated guards.
sPvP: I dislike this for the sole reason that I can’t utilize my own characters. I’ve worked hard to build up my level 80, get him exotic gear and nice weapons. This is the character that I am in the game, I don’t want to play randomly generated characters for the purpose of PvPing. It’s great if I’m participating in a competitive tournament or LAN, but I’m not. I, like many people, have an attachment to their character(s), and when I’m playing the game this is the one I want to be using.
As such, finding things to do in this game have been largely impossible. All of my friends have quit, my girlfriend is nearing 100% map completion and quickly growing bored and we’re both looking back to WoW at this point. I don’t mean to make this a WoW v GW2 thing, but for us, WoW is a game we enjoy playing more because it offers us the option to play with friends, in a team, in pvp, where our contributions actually can make or break the game (10v10, 15v15 battlegrounds).
I have been unable to find any blogs on if this feature is coming to guild wars 2, and I sincerely hope it is. I promise when it’s added, I’ll be back to give the game another chance. Until then however, I’ll continue to read /r/guildwars2 looking for battleground news.
EDIT:
Seems to be quite a bit of activity in here, and perhaps some misunderstanding in some cases. To be clear, I’m not looking to transform PvP from what it is now to some endless grind. I’m completely ok with the systems being entirely independent. With that being said, I would like a system where by:
- Battleground sizes of 10v10 and 15v15.
- Characters use their PvE/Crafted/Purchased/Obtained gear.
- Various game modes such as CTF, Domination, Team Deathmatch etc.
- Much like their other business model, renting out battleground servers could be possible.
I’m not asking to make GW2 pvp not based on skill or tactics. Both will still apply, and sPvP can remain the way it exists right now.
The primary reasons I’m not engaging in PvP right now:
- WvWvW: Too many people as mentioned above. In addition, my server is outnumbered, we are losing in the range of 400,000 – 10,000 – 10,000
- sPvP: Character detachment. I want to be able to use the character I play everyday. Even if that means buying a PvP-only set of gear from a vendor in the “PvE Realm” of the game before engaging in it.
