I’d like to point out that FFXIV has a 72 person PvP match. No lag despite the mounts, numbers, and DoTs (conditions for us).
I know its a different game, but it would be nice to have the lag fixed.
Participation decay timers have been adjusted so that players must be more active to keep participation from decaying.
RIP solo roaming, defending, off peak scouting, and defense calls.
JQ was full why did they get links? These linkings don’t make sense.
Anet probably manually locked us and forgot about it while our population dwindled. The only explanation that makes sense.
I just started getting into PvP with this season. I’ve decided I want to work on getting the legendary backpack, but I have a few questions.
Will the needed Achievements from Year of the Ascension be reset next season or can I work on them without fear of wasting my time?
According to the wiki, the recipe for the current backpack may change. Is that accurate?
Is Anet introducing a new backpack for the new year?

We have Proof of heroics and memories of battle already. I mean I guess they could make ascended memories of battle, but how would they implement it?
If they tied it to weekly victory or skirmish victory then people will just stack on the dominating servers more. Adding it as a reward for objectives or fights will cause the same issue.
You’re right. Adding it to the reward tracks is a good idea. Maybe a small amount, 5-10, at the end of the track.
Ascended armor is a necessity. Make it cost a lot of this new currency.
Rewards are great and could attract some players, but we need something else too.
WvW, above all other game modes, needs build templates and skill balance.
For skill balance they just need a balance team. We know they can do it for PvP.
Build templates is a bit trickier. Having them would be incredible though. People use different builds for Zerg combat, small guild groups, and roaming. This would benefit all styles of WvW play. Make it so you can change then at spawn.

The devs clearly stated the BG has less players than JQ and many of the linked worlds. Just because they have done well doesn’t mean players need to suffer from burn out to compete, and it also doesn’t mean that players don’t quit playing either… It’s kind of foolish to think that any server needs to be forever locked out regardless of ranking or performance.
BG’s all map queues vs our 2 on reset night last week tell a different story.

Blackgate currently has a smaller population than Jade Quarry and some of the combined linked worlds populations (combined linked worlds population example being Crystal Desert + Darkhaven + Devona’s Rest combined has a higher population than Blackgate). Reset night numbers mean nothing when you use averages.
Yes, BG loses players too, for various reasons, and that is clear from McKenna’s post.
I mean, we can do averages too. throughout the week BG consistently had a near map queue or possibly map queue on every map whereas we had one 2-10 person queue on ebg and enough of a force to barely hold up against BG on our home borderlands.
Again, all anecdotal though. I don’t have hard numbers because I’d rather play the game. If i wanted spreadsheets I’d still be playing Eve.
What people do is game the algorithm. They make alt accounts and join other servers for WvW so their home server opens and they can stack another guild or two before it closes.
We are aware of the bug and are working on a fix for it.
Since we’ve got you here, can we get a weekly community interaction thread? I think it would go a long way to fixing the mistrust in these forums if a Dev or Community manager showed interest in what we have to say.

Server A almost always wins 1st each skirmish.
Server B always takes 2nd.
Server C almost always takes 3rd.
If Server C can pull out even one 1st place in a skirmish, they’d be ranked 2nd for the week. How is that fair for Server B?

I’ll try it. I just ran a repair too. I’ve got an i7, 32gb of ram, a gtx 970, and brand new SSDs in raid 0. The i7 and ram are about 4 years old but no other games have been giving me issues. Will report back shortly.
Every time I kill the dragon in “The Dragon’s Reach, Part 2” I get disconnected with this error:

Its becoming very frustrating. I’ve attempted this at least 5 times now over the last 2 months.
Reset is 9PM EST, not 7.
Sry thinking of an older reset but even that 6:00 pdt is still early for a lot of ppl on the west cost for NA.
Still its about getting ppl the abitly to play on reset even ppl who work 2ed and 3ed sift are able to play reset if its on an Saturday and not just the 1st shift workers for Friday nights.
No worries. I remember when it was earlier too. I think maybe we need a rolling reset. 9PM EST Friday one week, advance by 12 hours next week, then again by 12 hours, then back to 9PM EST Friday.
No one will be 100% happy, but everyone will get to participate.
I think i can understand the Saturday reset time over Friday due to different time zones and different prime times. This means that ppl who are not on the same time zone with in the server (take NA there are at least 3 major time zones all that reset at the same time) having it on a Friday means some ppl cant play during reset. By having it on an Saturday you make sure that every one in that group can make it for that reset (mind you not every one is off on Saturday but most ppl are.)
What i am hoping that they changes to wvw over all makes say the last day of a match more important then it is now. Its annoying when Thursday is kind of pointless unless the match up is very close.
Though with the new guild halls we may see Friday become GvG day with out killing ppt for that wvw server.How can that be a good reason, because NA has 3 different time zones? EU has also 4 different time zones so what? In Asia they have 2-3 different time zones so what?
It’s always has been like this, what they do now is just move it a day forward. So instead of Thursday become a “boring” day it will be Friday. But why ?
Gvg on Friday? U should do gvg whenever u can and want to. And not because Anet is planing that for us. No we plan that for ourself.EU dose not get Saturday off? Then why is reset played so much on Friday i guess the same thing is true for Asia. If you live on the east cost of NA Friday reset is nice 7:00 est but for say West its 4:00 pdt ppl are simply not off during that time for most ppl. The only true “fair” reset time is to make sure “most” ppl can play during reset and putting it on an Saturday more then any other day (i guess you could do Sunday but i am not sure how that world work out) ppl have off all day long. In some ways it means they can push it back to easier reset time too say 4:00 east or 1:00 pdt for NA with out cutting a lot of ppl from being able to play reset. It also over all helps out with time changes in that falling back 1hr dose not comply kill reset for pdt.
That is what its all about making sure you get the max number of ppl to play or at least the chase to play during reset not to make sure your Friday nights are not boring.

Ah, ok. I was afraid of that. It’s not a huge inconvenience, but I’m not much for PvE what with the Berzerker meta. I’ll just have to suck it up and do it again then. Thanks for the answer though!
I can’t access the Ascalonian Catacombs PvP reward track. I’ve beaten the story mode already, though it was quite a long time ago.
I’ve attached a screen capture of the appropriate text.
Is there any staff that can help me? Or am I doing something wrong?
