I played WoW for years. I played from launch until the end of Cataclysm. Every time they did a content update it was in the form of permanent content. As the world story continued to evolve and new enemies and threats would emerge, all the old permanent content that had been done was now creating a paradox within the game. The only time the overall world story made sense was while you were playing current content. You would step backward in time if you created a new character because the world didn’t change along with the overall story. A new player coming into WoW after an expansion was playing through content that had no relevance to anything the actual expansion was about. Picking the game up in Wrath, why did you have to go through the Dark Portal into Outland if the Burning Legion was already defeated?

ArenaNet is creating a world that lives and changes as new threats and enemies emerge. What purpose does leaving the Molten Facility in game permanently provide if we, the players, have already defeated the Molten Alliance and destroyed their factories? If the Molten Alliance has been defeated, why should we continue to see them popping out of portals attacking people? There is permanent content being created as a result of the events of The Flame and Frost story arc. We have the newly opened town of Cragstead, the Heroes Rox and Braham, and the ever greedy Consortium forcing the poor refugees into slavery to build their beloved Southsun Cove Resort.

In my opinion at least, less permanent content within the Living Story will allow ArenaNet to continue to evolve Tyria without creating the paradox that Blizzard has created with their version of content updates to WoW.

I’m in love with the fact that those of us that are playing now will have something to tell others about. “Dude you should have been playing during the Flame and Frost saga!” Moments like these are what stand out in people’s minds.

I have played enough MMOs to understand the work that goes into content updates. Once the next update is released, it is very rare that anyone does any of the old content for the actual content. In most cases you are forced to go through the content, not because you want to or because its something you have yet to experience, but because its part of the leveling process. Everyone can say they played through that content but most the meaning of the content is lost to anyone that played through it just to level up. The experiences you take from doing the content as its released are much different than playing through content that is not longer relevant.

It is sad to see the dungeon go away after the 12th but I feel very lucky to have been able to play through content that will have a lasting impression on the game and community.

Keep up the amazing job ArenaNet!

Why the heck is this still broken?

These posts were back in November and this is still a current in game issue in March?

I am an officer in my guild so not repping is out of the question and I also have no intention on playing sPvP on anything other then my mesmer so re-rolling is not going to happen.

Please have this fixed very soon or all the progress you have made to bring GW2 into ESports will be for nothing if huge issues like this are left unfixed.

If more of their focus is on new content instead of restoring hacked accounts or fixing bugs that affect a very small subset of the player base, I see nothing wrong with that. I’d be willing to bet a few months of paychecks that the vast majority of players have never lost access to their GW2 accounts. It’s logical for a company to focus most of its resources on pleasing the majority of the players. If most GW2 players were getting their accounts hacked, then yes the bulk of the development efforts would probably be on account restorations.

Although the number of players that have had their accounts hacked is a small portion of the population, this issue still effects everyone that plays the game. No reasonable person would expect an entire company to drop everything they are doing to work on account restoration but it is reasonable to ask that someone does work on what should be basic service to an online only game.

Me and Freyn have physical copy, so we’re at least 2 ^^
So yeah… let’s say they found out our email and game password (didn’t happen but let’s say that) and sent a ticket, right?
And those French GMs asked for serial code, RIGHT?

Gaile, all discussions about same email/password are useless since serial code isn’t stored nor typed in our PC or in some internet sites.

And no ‘the hacker went into all your rooms to check boxes and get your code’ please lol

Why not? Maybe he went into my room when I was asleep and did all this horrible things to my characters :X Maybe I should check if I am alright and if there isn’t anything else missing >.<

I’ll save ArenaNet some time on this one and ask everyone to keep the subject of your posts on topic. This thread needs to be a source of information for those affected not pages of random nonsense. Everyone here wants this resolved as quickly as possible including ArenaNet.

2. To help parties and guilds gauge a player’s effectiveness in a dungeon, add player inspection to GW2. There is so much more that can and needs to be done towards this end, inspection is not asking for much. I want to know if our party is carrying someone in Cultural Tier 3 with a bad spec and level 65 trinkets, and I want to know when somebody is wearing magic find.

The worst idea to hit any MMO. There is zero need for a system like this in place for a game that promotes (and functions quite nicely) as a game anyone, no matter the profession, can play in any situation.

Yes, there are those that will only ever take traits and skills to their personal benefit when entering a dungeon, but you and I have no right to tell them they are wrong for playing the game they payed for the way they want to play it. Gear does not, and never will, equal skill. I have seen players in other MMOs, where gear does play a huge part in one’s potential, get out DPS’d and out Healed by players with terrible gear.

Two of the best decisions ArenaNet has made to the design of Guild Wars 2 is not allowing other players to view gear/traits and view/link achievements.

This only proves there is a bigger issue at hand, Free, Transfers. We have had a lot of players, did really well, then they left to go to henge or another big server. A lot of them come back, but it hurts at least my server a lot. I’m sure it hurts others, fix this before fixing a problem that isn’t exactly a massive deal, actually, WvWvW was designed around being 24/7 anyway.

Taking away Free Transfers will help to alleviate some of the issues seen with ‘Night Capping’ or ‘Server Jumping’ to the winning side. Ultimately people will get tired of logging into WvW each night to see no one is there to fight them and will eventually spread to other servers or play at different times to actually have someone to fight.

Sure the bonuses from WvW are nice, but in my opinion, its the combat of WvW that makes is so exciting. Yes there isn’t much balance at the moment, but given a few more week long match ups and we will see some of these issues start to fade out.

My two cents anyway.

Pls disable the Mesmer skill "Portal" untill you fix the server lode issus

The issue isn’t the mesmer’s portal, but that free transfers are still up. Any kind of actual WvW playable value is nonexistent if players can freely transfer out to another server to populate it so others from that actual server can’t get in or screw around with supplies and orbs. Until free transfers go away, WvW will continue to have major playability issues.
