Still not gonna cut it as a grandmaster trait…
Could add 2 condis removed so we aren’t forced to invest 6 into Wilderness Survival for any sort of decent condi removal in pvp and wvw.

Also, is WS keeping with toughness and malice? Seems a bit unfair to have to take condi damage if you’re running a power build.

Need some condi removal in other trait lines pretty please..

My 2 main toons are a Mesmer and Engi, honestly I’ve had no problems with the mesmer. Might be slower than engi because we’re lacking aoe’s but you never die either. It’s not as fun to level as engi tho.

It’s not a big deal this, just poor game balancing. The button pressing monkey got this one wrong.

And the torment sigil, started off applying 5 stacks of torment, which was obv too strong, nerfed to 1 which renders it useless. No middle way, no thought.

test with 3-4 people on you and some wells, sigils, traps. Some damage will def go in.

In my experience, it only dodges a limited number of attacks per set time. So if you’ve got multiple sources of incoming damage, some will go in.

I just use it for clearing conditions now. Not even brilliant for that purpose alone, 1s casting time is silly, but its good when I’m stealthed.
However, people have an irrational fear of phantasms and don’t pay attention to the damage it really does, so a plus there.
I do think it needs to be slightly buffed, either make it a 1/4s cast, do more physical damage or 5 stacks on confusion. One of these 3 and I’d be perfectly happy with it, less of a wasted second.

Idk about Null Field, I don’t like the idea of having to stay still, in it, for several seconds. I lose positioning, which is especially important in 1v2 or 1v3. It’s not a HUGE deal, but I would still classify NF as an average utility.

Another option would be to equip Signet of Domination and instead of clearing conditions (till I can los or stealth again), interrupt a condition burst. Easier said than done though, necros drop that condi hammer quickly, so do engis and thieves. Also, SoD has the same mechanical problems as Arcane Thievery.

Let’s say Arcane Thievery did not reset to it’s full cd once it missed. Take Confusing Images, one more clunky skill we have, but at least, once you are prevented from casting it, it goes to a couple of secs cd. That would work for me.

I guess making it an instant cast would work too, bet we’d get much better results.

I should say I roam bl’s solo or in small groups and I’m only worried about quickly disposing of condition bursts.

Alternative? Only condi removal I have is torch and I can’t afford dropping my +cond duration food
I’m running an aggressive 20/20/30 PU build, sword/torch, scepter/pistol ,mix rabid and rampager, no dissipation.
I don’t like running Veil, Null Field was the option before, but with the duelist’s nerf, it’s rather average.

I’m not aware if this has been brought up previously, apologize if so.
Am i doing something wrong? AT misses quite a lot when in range. Unblockable means undodgeable too right?
Care to share some tips, provided you had such issues and found a way to make AT work reliably.

I play a very similar build, same traits, scepter instead of sword and either veil (when solo) or signet of domination (in 5man), instead of Null Field.

In pvp I use rabid amulet/rampager jewel, with undead runes, in wvw I go for a mix of Rabid and Rampager, perplexity runes

Been running this a couple of months now, very pleased, keep playing, it will only get better once you learn how to set up your bursts well. All the best.

Condition Removal Tweaks

I completely agree with op. Don’t think any of those buffs would be op, only fair to put us on par with most other classes when it comes to cond removal. It’s not always easy to avoid conditions, say we get focus cc’ed and a cond build bursts us in the 2-3 seconds we’re out, there’s not much we can do except pop Mass Invi with Runes of Lyssa.

I wouldn’t mind either if any of our existing cond removals were to stay as they are but prioritize burns, bleeds and posion. This would prob be a bigger buff than what op has thought of.
