It may not be game-breaking, but the Harbinger of Mordremoth Outfit does not get the metallic “aura” (if you can call it that) when the Juggernaut is wielded. Reported it in-game, and posting it here in case any others have noticed it as well.
First thing that i would do is to reduce the event time from 30 min to 20 min, and instead of having individual stacks like we got now, i would add a “Map Stack” this would calculate all events we finish during that 20 minutes. Rewards would be equal to all, teamwork would be rewarded once again.
Rewards would be the following
10 events completed by map = 10 blossoms
20 events completed by map = 15 blossoms
30 events completed by map = 20 blossoms
40 events completed by map = 25 blossoms
50 events completed by map = 35 blossomsUsually you average 35-40 events on 30 minutes. This would add a bit of a challenge, cooperation between commanders and the “taggers” atm would have to finish the random events they port to just to contribute
This. Oh my goodness this. Definitely seconding what Arahzor is saying here. I love it!
Thanks for that post, Gaile.
I must admit that this is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in GW2. Honestly, it happens. Intention doesn’t always turn out how we’ve intended. So here’s my (and my wife’s) feedback:
1) Rewards – This is a game we love playing because we can pick at it, or be serious. I’m ok for things being gated behind lots of effort (I still adore the fact that I have luminescent gear because of all the work I put into it). In short events like this, I’m not convinced that the amount of Blossoms we’ve gotten from the event is enough. I’m not saying I want 400 blossoms for playing for an hour (that’d be insane), but I do think that it should be higher where I won’t have to play for days on end to get something I wanted like the Selfless Potion. I’m not sure I have a solid number, but my understanding is it’s 20 for a daily in each area, and 5-15 per map in 30 minutes? This seems way too low if that’s the case.
2) World Event Standards – I was astounded by Escape from L.A. (and the whole series) and really expected this to be as intense as that. Silverwastes, I adore. The entire end of LS: Season 2 blew my mind and really engaged me (it was when my wife even started playing). My expectations were a lot higher. I was even thinking of things like the Marionette. It’s tag & run (see #5) and doesn’t really give a challenge.
3) Gem Store Items for Currency – I’m undecided with how I feel about Gem Store items being available for currency from an event. On one hand, it’s exciting that it’s all available for the new players, or for people who missed it. On the other hand, I’m insanely proud of having my Armoured Scarlet Mini from using the Mystic Forge, which I actually did pay real cash to get as a memento of the entire war in L.A. On one hand I don’t want to seem like only I should have it, and on the other hand I’m not sure how good of an idea it is to make Gem Store items available for currency as it devalues them and people have even paid real money.
4) Event Bugs – I know that things don’t always launch without a hitch, and patches and bugs are unforeseen. I just know that people not getting their rewards really demoralized the entire event and made it feel not worth doing.
5) Encouragement of Tag & Run – This entire event, due to the stacks that you get from completing events contributing to the amount of currency you get, really encourages people to tag an event and get out of there. This doesn’t foster teamwork, and it really doesn’t help people who are new, get to know the game. I should not feel like if I want to get say, a Selfless Potion, I need to tag a bunch of events and run off. People should be encouraged to stay at events. I will blatantly say that this is actually very bad to encourage, whether intended or unintended. (On that note, my wife only ever gets Bronze medals no matter what she does while I keep getting Gold. Very strange, not that it affects your stacks).
6) Event Complexity – There aren’t many varieties of events either, which leads to it feeling very boring. Shields, Catapaults, Explosive Pods. Well, this lack of variety really doesn’t make me want to keep doing it. Yes, Silverwastes only has a few things that take place but it builds to a purpose with great rewards and has multiple avenues of rewards from your bandit chests, bandit crests, bags as rewards, etc. I understand that SW is a permanent addition, but my expectations for event complexity and reward complexity has definitely been raised. The Mordrem Invasion just doesn’t meet it. This feels like something that would’ve been put into the game during the first Living Story where you guys were still getting the hang of your direction.
Ultimately, this is the first time I can say that I am terribly disappointed. Hopefully the feedback here helps to some extent!
This is also sometimes resetting when you waypoint as well.
…it was all me.
My poor Asura: (Charr voice) “FOR GREAT JUSTICE!!!”
o.O Well that’s a new one.
I was planning to report a few bugs in-game, but it appears that my options are a little… strange, to say the least.

Proper Procedure for Reporting Harassment
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: SonofInnocence.4905
I’m curious as to what the proper method is to report somebody who is harassing people in-game? What do you report them as? It seems there is no option for that. Our guild has encountered a challenge with someone who constantly follows, harasses, and even has threatened people and we do not know how to proceed.
Any help on how to handle the proper reporting of this person’s account would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much JustTrogdor. I figured as much. I should’ve done my homework but I’m at work, so I figured I’d throw it up there so I’d know.
I appreciate the swift reply!
I received this email a few days ago (only saw it now) and I’m not sure if I can trust it. It’s from noreply@guildwars2.com

All I’ve done recently is purchase some gems using gift VISA cards that I was given, so I’m curious as to whether this is legit or not.

I tried changing the “Automatically Detect Settings” and it still didn’t work for me.
EDIT: I changed to run as administrator on the shortcut and suddenly it worked for me, after also following RouterGeek’s idea for the Automatically Detect Settings.

Little do most of you know, ArenaNet have been thinking of this for a while and got a few accounts to test out this new playable race in Lion’s Arch before it was destroyed.
Sadly, all notes of said playable race were destroyed in Scarlet’s destruction of LA.
ANet, please bring back this tested race. OP or not, this is what all the playerbase want.
Sure, and their F1 can be a ranged spit attack that causes blindness.
Raven F1 does blindness ..
Rangers are missing a pet that causes torment
Have you ever have a llama spit at you? I think torment is the perfect way to describe it. ;-)
I stumbled across this and nearly peed myself laughing, mostly because I saw myself in it.
Come on people, you know you’re in there too if you post on forums at all. ;-) Enjoy!
I visited the PvP area, but still am missing quite a few skins that I had before. Not quite sure why.

Yeah, I told him to prepare for infraction point

Haha. I figured. My mind just went to the Quest for the Holy Grail.
Frankly, even these “leaks” that I’ve heard about, I don’t trust. Maybe because I’m a cynical person, but I’m going to put my vote in Scarlet being controlled by a “League of Extraordinary Cabbage Men” who controlled her mind as she tried to look into the Eternal Alchemy. She’s now drilling for magic oil that will take her to a place beyond the mists where she’ll find an Unsuspicious Mad March hare and follow him.
Sadly, when poor Scarlet goes down the rabbit hole and follows said hare, she meets a series of seemingly insane characters who lead her in her journey back home. Sadly, her mind is broken and she gets taken over by the Queen of Lion’s Arch, who was exiled by the Captain’s Council into Blunderland (where all people are forced to use blunderbusses instead of magic, greatswords, etc. Although Engineers tend to be happy when they end up there).
We’ll manage to rescue her, but in the midst we’ll end up losing Marjory to the Queen of Hearts… err… Queen of Lion’s Arch. After a cry of “off with her head!!!”, many people will be upset at the loss of Marjory. Thankfully, I won’t be too hurt. Taimi will take the lead and become a world-famous accordion player who wins the heart of all the Aetherblades, Toxic Alliance, Charr, Dredge, and everyone else, uniting them all under the banner of love. We’ll hail Taimi as our new queen and Queen Jennah will step down to finally marry Logan and get out of our hair. Rytlock will fall in love with Rox, leaving Braham sad and broken-hearted, but he’ll fall in love with my Elementalist (even though she’s a Sylvari) and we’ll live happily ever-after. The end.
Alright. I just want something to happen with a dragon, or something even being behind the dragons that’s exceedingly evil. Something beyond the Mists and the gods—something that screams “evil” instead of “insane.” Yup. That’s my hope.

I love the idea of being able to purchase a mini that would have all (or even partial) proceeds going to a charity dealing with multiple sclerosis. My wife and I would definitely both purchase one in support.

According to lore, their awkwardness is due to their short legs and unusually strong forearms having been adapted for crawling through caves underground. If you’re into Asura for their background, the animations become part of the charm.
Wow! I didn’t really go that far back with Asura (I probably should have). Hat is the most amazing explanation, and really lends to a lot of novelty with them. They’re out of their element, and thriving because of their ability to adapt (brainy little critters).
As much as how they talk seems a little over the top, I can definitely see more of charm with both that, and how they move, given that background. Thanks so much for explaining that to me!
Hey there Asuran lovers! I’m expecting to get ridiculed and potentially executed over this, but I’m wondering…
Do Asura animations seem a little bit over the top to you? It seems almost silly to me, with so much flopping and flailing. I’ve found one body size (second largest) that doesn’t look as ridiculous, but it almost looks like I’m watching a creepy gremlin doll flail around in the dryer.
Does anyone else, who absolutely loves the Asura story and culture find it difficult to play them because of their animations?
I was wondering if there could be some resolution to the zerker issue if they added a stat that acted like vigor (increasing your endurance regen by a percentage), if that would help? Obviously this would mean removing vigor from the game and having it on other gear as well to encourage more customizability, but I wonder it’s an option? Then again, that may still pigeon-hole people into the “optimal setup” nonetheless.
Mind you, I haven’t read through much of this thread, but it came to mind. I’m sure there are greater minds than me when it comes to suggestions! :-)
Thanks Narcemus! That’s really intriguing! I don’t remember much from reading about the Priory (or experiencing them in-game).
I did try searching but for some reason, the search function on the forums wasn’t working. So thank you for the reply!
Just wondering if there’s any lore significance to this stone in the Dredgehaunt Cliffs, just south of the Steelbrachen Waypoint?
Heres the thing though, for those that like plain and simple weapon skins, 90% of the skins in game are plain and without particle effects, so you have an incredible selection of plain choices. However for those that like flash particle effects, there are very very few decent skins, ascended weapons were a way to address that, they could have been much better looking (they arent something people will be able to grab the day they turn 80 like all the plain exotics)
That’s very true. At least some kind of particle effect. It doesn’t have to be over the top shininess, but it could at least have a little touch of something to make it a little more special. I can agree with you there!
lol….. yeah cuz that greatsword looks real good next to a twilight… not.
Not worth it.
Twilight and all legendaries for that matter are the worst skins in the game imo, i like the starter weapons better than them : P
You can enjoy your twilight, i can enjoy other skins : p
I’m glad someone else agreed! I actually think the legendaries all look really ugly, so I had no desire to get one. I’ll probably get an ascended one day… Or three of them. Who knows? But legendaries? I personally think they’re ghastly (and not in an Ascalonian Catacombs kinda way either).
But hey, that’s the beauty of this game. So many choices that most of us can find what we like.
I have to admit that from a quick look, I think they’re beautiful! They look detailed to me.
I do wish they had some small particle effect but I’m honestly really curious about getting one. Just levelled my (now) 47 Norn Guardian to 400 crafting. I’ll get to 80 and see where it takes me!
I agree though. They’re simple and stunning because of their simplicity!
I’m with Celebratty. Inflation. I get it, but as someone who tends not to make a lot of gold in game, it seems impossible for me to get any gems with gold.
However I think GW2 focuses too much on being funny and cutesie, which boxes of fun and celebrations and toymakers all of the time.
This world should be dark and dangerous – humanity lives in 2 cities, the Norn have been driven South, the Charr are struggling against the Dragonbrand and Flame Legion and the Sylvari are having a civil war. The world doesn’t reflect the actual lore we are told which is a big shame I think.
I totally agree with you. I’d like things to get a little more… intense. The biggest thing I find hard to swallow in GW2 is how casually people are acting. There are massive Elder Dragons that are spreading influence around the world. Their champions, other monsters, and psychotic lettuce ladies are all bringing chaos and destruction to the world.
“Oh hey! We’re human! Let’s go party! Sure, we’re a diminishing race in the grand scheme, but whatever!”
Maybe I’m off on that, but that’s what I’ve gathered from the game this past year. Maybe I’m expecting things to be a bit more focused and hyped up? Or perhaps I’m expecting things to be absolutely pandemonium with fear and loathing on Tyria? I’d just think there would be more of a sensation of chaos, struggle, and destruction at a time like this. Things seem a little too peaceful in-game and I think it’s because of the lightened mood from the party stuff.
Or I’m expecting too much. Maybe the Searing is still ‘seared’ into my brain. ;-)
I know I’ll get flamed by saying this, but I figured here is a good place to say it.
Do I love this game? Absolutely.
Do I love where you’ve been taking this game? Pretty much!
Do I like everything about this game? Absolutely not.
Do I respect you guys? 100%
You, Devs, have my respect. You make decisions based upon what you hear in the community, but also make your decision at the end of the day. In terms of leadership and development, that gets my respect.
I think of the XBox One and as much as I disagreed with a lot of what they were doing, my chances of purchasing it dropped drastically. When a business makes a decision to do a 180 turn based upon what consumers are saying instead of where their vision is taking them, I lose trust in them.
It’s a personal leadership mentality that motivates me in my work and all I do in life. Not everybody likes the decisions I make. Not everybody agrees with where I go with things. Not everyone likes what I do or how I do it. Yet at the end of the day, there are those who give me respect because, upon hearing what others are suggesting, I take it into account and make my own decision at the end of the day.
As I said. I don’t always agree with you on your decisions but I can respect that you do make a decision.
Nothing is more difficult than finding the balance between hearing others and following your vision.
- Keep working hard, because you have my respect and the respect of many others.
- Keep listening to people, because there’s wisdom in what they say (even if you’re making the final call on the development of the game and your industry).
- Keep working to communicate better with more and more clarity, because nothing frustrates people more than being unsure of your direction.
Thank you, Guild Wars 2 team. I’m excited to see where we’re going to go.

My biggest concern is how significant these ascended weapons will be. Will they be outrageously priced? I, personally, despise crafting in this game (now don’t jump on me! It’s subjective and I’m ok with that!). Instead, I sell all my mats on the TP to bring in a cash flow since I can’t really do dungeons due to having young children, a wife, and a demanding job. (Or it’s a lack of confidence for dungeons as well, who knows?)
I just keep worrying that when it comes out, I won’t be able to keep up. I’ve accepted that I’ll never have a legendary, due to crafting and no dungeons. I’m ok with that so far.
I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how Ascended Weapons go!
The conspiracy theorist in me keeps wondering if they’re actually working kitten a huge release that has to do with the next Elder Dragon to be taken down. Perhaps that’s what all this Living Story stuff is somehow working up to. So far, ANet doesn’t seem to be the type to give away any hints about much that they’re doing. They’re rather secretive and push out quite a bit of information just before the release. I’m not sure. Somehow this may all come together from a Living Story to continue our Personal Stories.
Or I’m crazy. I guess I still have a lot of faith in ANet since I adored GW1, and love GW2 and all of Tyria so much more!
Hello fellow Tyrians! I have a simply question. As I’ve been seeking a new profession to play (my main is an Ele) I adore its complexity and ability to react to every given situation. Now I’m curious…
Would any of you care to weigh in as to what order you would rank the most complex professions to the most simple?
I’d love some help trying to decide on an alt and find complexity and ability to react as my favourite things in a game to keep my coming back for more!
Thanks Swimsasa! That makes more sense to me since I find myself LOVING my Melandru set at the moment. :-D
Hey there Ele community! I’m an Elementalist who very much loves the Staff. I run 0/25/0/25/20 and absolutely love it so far! I may play around with that a little bit but I tend to love the Air line for the glyphs. It works very well for me.
I don’t want to screw up my ascended gear, so… I’m currently thinking of going zerker gear with P/V/T ascended jewellery. Is this a good idea or not? I mean, I’m not the greatest at dodging and don’t want to die left right and center.
Any thoughts on what to choose for ascended gear (or even armour if you’d like) is greatly appreciated!
