Hey guys, come do First Person View and then ride on Magic Carpet (which is currently on sale today at Black Lion). To use First Person View, go to the Options menu and enable it from there and then zoom scroll with the mouse.

It is so awesome and I wanted to point that out. A Whole New World….

Saving builds and gear, it's time

“Guild Wars 2 takes everything you love about Guild Wars 1”…only they forgot most of the things.
And not just things we loved – things that we needed and were just quality of life!

Sad part is that there’s way more newcomers than us GW1 vets. So of course Anet is not focusing on their loyal old GW1 playerbase like they stated they would in the past (plus that most of the Anet staff are not from GW1 anymore nowadays and lost their clear main goal).

Anyway, if these features like saving build come back, they could possibly encourage or bring back the “build wars” from GW1.

Mounts

In Guild Wars 1, we also didn’t have any mounts except riding temporarily on creatures like the Siege Devourer. They’re not even focused in the lore and should stay that way in Guild Wars 2. Also they’re just not needed whatsoever.

Draconic Race?

Just to throw this in there, the bone dragons of Tyria were not at all related to the Elder Dragons, and the Saltspray Dragons of Cantha were not either.

Did Anet ever Confirm this?

There were no such thing as “Elder Dragons” in GW1. When they decided to make GW2 they released an expansion that just said “Oh, well there’s Elder Dragons now, okay guys?”

When GW2 came out, they were also like “Well Glint is the champion of an Elder Dragon just because, alright?”

I really wouldn’t be surprised if they say something like “Well Kuunavang was really Bubbles’ champion! Ooh!!!”

You’re forgetting Eye of the North. They later revealed the Destroyers to be minions of a sleeping Elder Dragon once GW2 got released.

They’re not related to the Elder Dragons whatsoever especially that you would know if you passed all the campaigns in GW1. In fact, the Elder Dragons weren’t involved during GW1’s time (except Glint’s hidden connection with them) until Eye of the North that revealed the Destroyers who later got revealed to be minions of a sleeping Elder Dragon.

Please Remove Map Completion from PvP Areas

I agree with OP, there’s absolutely no reason to mix PVE and PVP. If they were around during GW1, they would know that players hated this and there was constant bickering about it.

Technically, The Mist (WvW included) is part of the world just like the Battle Isles (back in GW1) but instead you’re mostly traveling around in an on-going open player war zone that isn’t like Alliance Battles (Luxons vs Kurzicks). Although the Fortress battles (Fort Aspenwood) is similar to WvW but there’s no zerging.

How will the new map effect 100% world completion?

in The Lost Shores

It might probably be Lost Shores Explorer or something.

The 100% map completion achievement/reward shouldn’t be taken away. There was a similar situation back in GW1 when you completed for the map exploration title for Tyria and an expansion (Eye of the North) came out. It basically stayed the same but as for the new update coming, I actually have no idea like the rest of you.

So, how much time I need to grind?

Infusion in GW1 is nothing like what we know about this new infusion system. It was part of the storyline, you did a mission once (after the patch) and every piece of gear you had equipped would be infused.

Correct but not to cause your confusion, I’m just pointing it out as a reference or simply a similar example. I did not say it’s the exact system that the new update will have.

I don’t think Ascended gear will end up being better than exotics. The boosted stats still don’t look like they are going to be better than runes and gems. Deffo won’t be as versatile, if you change your build in exotics all you have to do is re-rune, if you change your build in Ascended you gotta go out and get everything again :I

Just a reference, we had something like that back in GW1 when we have to “infuse” our armor by doing a certain mission to do certain missions.

In my opinion, I don’t mind doing that and I agree with what most people say that it’s not “grinding” – whatsoever. It’s quite a shame that people are stressing over a big update.

If you guys want to feel at ease somehow, Arena Net is one of the better game companies out there and I had played their first game which is of course, GW1. In fact, I wouldn’t stress over anything. But then again, it’s just my “opinion” out of most MMOs I played so far…

Will the mini-games stay after Halloween?

in Halloween Event

Posted by: SparkNorkx.1873

SparkNorkx.1873

From the previous years in GW1, the holiday games always go bye-bye until next year. If those games stay up, they wouldn’t be “special” anymore next year…

Also, I disagree to have games similar (not Halloween theme included) staying up. And again – it just ruins the special big events and there wouldn’t be any fun especially for next year.

In other words, the suggestion is taking away Arena Net’s new traditions for GW2. Note that they also did put effort to make them similar to GW1’s.
