Yeah, unfortunately no prompt appeared. The most recent was the one in foothills near the HP through an underwater cave part.

Thanks, I assumed that’s how it should work, maybe I just hit a bug; I’ll try again tonight and see how it goes

Hi, so I’m just returning after over a year, so I apologize if this is a no-brainer.

The bifrost legendary collection quest says I need to ‘leave 100 bloodstone’ at a bunch of locations.

I’ve traveled to a couple of the locations and can’t figure out how to leave it there so that I get credit for the collection item.

Thoughts?

That sucks, sorry I submitted a bug report for mine before I got it via the cave, I think we’re stuck with that for now unfortunately.

Hey, I just got mine to work; go to the deadend waypoint in bloodtide coast and go into the cave/order of whispers cave.

edit: mantis blackstorm (in game name) gave me the tip in LA, Kaineng server.

Yep, I’m in the same boat. I just finished my last vista in Divinity’s Reach and got the achievement today and no gifts. Tried relogging and no joy

Idea: Pet Gear

I did a quick search and couldn’t find a topic on this, so if it’s been talked about already feel free to point me to that thread…

To me it seems like a decent, and relatively easy idea to implement a gear slot or gear effect for a pet, to accommodate the gaps in certain survivability scenarios or lack of Agony protection. That is, if I’m petless due to swap on cooldown, over-run in certain scenarios, etc then for the duration that the pet is alive it would make sense for it to do something worthwhile for as long or as hard as possible. So, providing gear stats (tough, pow, prec, etc) as per a gear piece or perhaps even a sigil effect for extra crit chance bonuses, some boon pop, stacks, maybe some aoe effect on crit, etc.

It would be nice if as a non-Ranger (player or mob) I had to be consciously aware that if ignored, the pet will ruin my day (either by buffing the ranger or hurting me) versus just dodging, changing elevation, etc.

I appreciate the new changes, they made me pick up and enjoy the ranger profession again, this is simply an idea to further accentuate the Ranger profession.

I understand there’s a bit more complexity added to the balancing aspect, but from a player point of view, I’d love to have a gem (or something) I could ‘equip’ on my pet to boost certain traits as another complexity/dimension as a Ranger.

It seems as the pet is our main mechanic/strength/uniqueness, this would help amplify its importance.

No no, I’m serious, your moustache and angry-face make you look manly enough to counter your long robe and butterflies. The other prof’s won’t make of you, I promise…

"Get Over Yourselves!"

I think it’s a tough thing to accommodate such a complex set of environments and also player wants versus what’s best for the game as a whole. I’m completely with you about the ‘get over yourselves’, I’m tired of the whine, ignorance, childish reactions and lack of mature dialogue in many cases. That being said, some folks are incredibly patient and contributing well in a grown-up manner.

Back on topic though, I had an initial thought as yourself that if a skill/trait/whatever can’t work for all environments equally, then it’s broken. As a result, there could be a fear as a result that perhaps one faction (pvp or pve or wvw or…etc) will get an advantage of that one skill which may negatively impact the other uses or factions and a gap may insue…

Although there’s likely a bit of an increased complexity on anet’s part in having different baselines/metrics for the same skill insofar as maintaining balance, ultimately I’m encouraged by the fact that they’re identifying how unique pve is compared to pvp and will adjust accordingly.

The environments and needs are different – I’m happy they’re not sticking to a ‘one size fits all’ approach regardless of any evidence they have. Good on anet for charting a potentially new path and balancing things towards the specific content/environments they’re used in.

To me this shows how flexible and adaptable anet is rather than stale and rigid. I like it.

@op – As a scientist irl, I poke fun at engineers at being the oompa loompa’s of science all the time…they don’t agree with me (or you) apparently.

They’re great at holding long meetings though! :p
