Thief Stealth-Trap Issue

Yes, doesn’t really change the fact that this seems to be a design flaw in my opinion. a player can do anything he/she chooses without risk unless the other player has stealth disruptor traps.

Thief Stealth-Trap Issue

Hello,

I’ve just met a thief build in WvW that I have no idea about what it did exactly…
But one thing I am sure about, which is that it kept using many AoE trap-like skills that when triggered caused many conditions, however the thief was not revealed when the traps were triggered. The way that build worked, I’m fairly certain that it is either a bug, a hack or a severe design flaw. (And no, it wasn’t lag on my side and I’ve seen enough of GW to know what is not right.)
Aurora Glade Borderlands, 22:42 CET it was an Elona Reach player ranked Bronze Scout that performed it.

Ember bay - Skip up the volcano achievement

I think I found the problem.
If you get out of the jumping puzzle or log out during it, you loose your checkpoint progress. But at the same time it does not let you tap the checkpoints any more.
So I think you cannot restart the jumping puzzle within one day. If that is right, I’d say that’s a major issue.

I just did the jumping puzzle. I am sure I walked right over all of the smokey checkpoints that I had to. (Especially since I did this without any mesmers to teleport me.) I noticed that nothing visible happened as I walked through them. At the end-chest, I got the same message.
I must say that I am less than pleased at this outcome, especially since I haven’t gotten the achievement either. I’d like to ask for a solution to the issue, as this is was not exactly joyful gaming.

Hey Julischka!

I think that Guild Wars (being an MMORPG) is best enjoyed amongst friends. For me, both Guild Wars games were mostly about friends and community, since I’ve run out of content a dozen times over. There are people and activities that do not make you “drag the other people down” too, it’s not all dungeons and fractals and raids in this game.
I suggest you simply ask for some help – either here or in game, and people who actually feel like it will probably go to you to help you. Or if not, just try and catch me in game if you see me online!

I do have to admit that I loved idling with the /flute animation.
While I do agree that the imagination is a good thing, the animations do enrich the experience quite a bit!
Besides, I could see the old animations be reused. They were of high quality!

Hello everyone,

I tried searching a bit, but did not find any topics about the emotes in GW2. I was kind of surprised, since GW1 had so many more emotes, and I thought role players would have already requested these to be implemented ages ago. So I thought about gathering a categorized list about the most important emotes that I’m sorely missing from the game, and perhaps see how many people would be interested in these emotes.

Behavioural emotes: /bored, /doubletake, /pout, /yawn
Community building emotes: /goteam, /highfive, /pickme
Emotes for teasing one another: /boo, /doh, /moan, /shoo, /taunt
Misc. situational emotes: /beg, /catchbreath(/breath), /flex, /sorry
Joker emote: /rock was probably used more for giving hugs than the actual game

P.S.: Yes, of course I know about /me, but that is just not the same.

Champion Mordrem Thrasher - Iron Marches

A bit of a correction. the “Champion Mordrem Thrasher” was bugged and did nothing for a long while. Recently (probably with the HoT release), the Champion Mordrem Thrasher was changed to the Vile Thrasher, which functions but drops no nectar.
It does seem like the achievement is still unobtainable…

It seemed to me that the Quick Draw trait does not work with staff skills currently. It certainly did not work with skill 3.

This issue is still present. I just did this achievement properly twice. All my teammates got it. I tried staying away completely for the second round with pet hidden. After the boss died, I still had the achievement marker effect on me, and when I tried for the second time, I had two stacks of it.

Bow concept

Speeder.6042

Hello everyone!

I have created a bow design concept a very long time ago titled “Shadow Dragon Bow”. A friend from GWRadio uploaded this to YouTube and I found it again and figured that maybe ANet could use this to base an in-game weapon on the design.
I created this as a “first try” at 3dsmax back then, and I still have the 3D file. I can send it if wanted.

Seeing map/armors/stuck/weapons or other art issues?

I’m posting a clipping issue on the female human tier 3 cultural armor – Assassin’s Vest. As seen on the screenshot, the right leg clips through the side part from the vest. This happens regardless of leggings worn (or not) in any animation state where the right leg is lifted. Examples being dancing, kneeling, standing on a bent surface, etc.. This is a quite highly visible clipping issue.

(Non-bugreport:) There is an awfully big clipping issue on the front left side of the vest not included in the screenshot! Only part of the armor I dislike…

Dynamic IP and Email authentication

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Speeder.6042

Speeder.6042

Hello!

I think that for dynamic IP validations, it would be best to log in all attempts from a given town and area (according to the ISP providing the information) instead of the IP address. I think it is highly unlikely that someone from the user’s ISP will really try and succeed at hacking that account, unless that user’s able to watch the internet traffic. That case however raises much worse problems, such as easily hacking a low security POP3 authentication leading to a hacked e-mail account.

Even if this cannot be done, I’d like to suggest adding a new feature where dynamic IP users may validate an IP address against a DynDNS (or similar) account, since most current routers have built-in support for updating these services with the current IP address of the user and would only provide a single DNS lookup per login attempt to verify. This could be added to account settings, and I’m sure that we would create a nice guide on the wiki for less experienced people to be able to use the feature.

P.S.: I write this post because right now the system seems to keep sending me e-mails on every IP address change. If this is not how it is supposed to work, then please tell me so that I would open my support ticket.

Emote System that should be in Every Game

I’m liking this suggestion a lot too and shouldn’t be very hard to implement.
I’d also like seeing the GW1 emotes again (they are already used in GW2, since they don’t give any errors, just not implemented) plus a /kiss (throwkiss) emote should be very required for some players I believe. This is admittedly a LOT of animator work, but I think many players would appreciate it hugely.

Suggestion: WAYPOINT FEES!

in Suggestions

Posted by: Speeder.6042

Speeder.6042

I think that money sinks are required in the game any way because it was designed as such from the ground. Waypoint costs are an acceptable taxing for people. The main problem with this is when a lvl80 plays on low level areas, because money income is at least halved. This often leads to money loss rather than gain, which no one actually likes.
I’d like to suggest two modifications to waypoint cost calculations:

  • When traveling, the target area’s level should be factored into waypoint fee bonuses. For example if the target area’s maximum level is 40, then the lvl80 character’s extra fee could be around 2/3rd the price, and to a level 20 area, it could be 1/3rd the price.
  • High-distance travel fees should also be changed, because no one likes watching loading screens while traveling from Rata Sum, to Lion’s Arch, to Black Citadel so that they can then waypoint to the Brand cheaper. Waypoint fees should be calculated by taking the cheapest fee from either the character’s current location or the closest city’s center point. Cities in this calculation should include all starter cities, Lion’s Arch and Fort Trinity.

I believe that this system would keep the money sink where characters gain high amounts of money while decreasing people wanting to go through a bunch of loading screens or just simply run through areas only to save some money from waypointing costs.

Simple control options

in Suggestions

Posted by: Speeder.6042

Speeder.6042

Dear ANet!

There are a few places where I feel control options should be added or changed a little bit.

  • The “look behind” function should be changed to invert camera on X, Y and Z axis, rather than just the X and Y. When moving upwards or downwards on a slope or in water, the current version doesn’t show anything useful.
  • I may be wrong here, but “target nearest enemy” seems to target nearest in the center of my screen. I’d like a targeting key to target nearest enemies even behind me. That is very important for… tactical retreating
  • Key binding options for chat channels. This is useful for people that regularly talk to more than two (groups) of people. Mousing in between chat channels makes it almost impossible to play while chatting. I’m thinking of something similar to GW’s Shift + 1-5.
  • Key binding for an interface-less, cursor-less screenshot, similar to GW’s Shift + Print Screen.
  • Option for a walk button that is push-to-walk instead of toggling walking.
  • A bigger change – and I suspect it won’t happen – is changing the mouse cursor back to hardware cursors as in GW. I don’t see problems with it graphic-wise, because GW uses very simple, small cursor images. The problem is when a player’s FPS drops under 30FPS (could be common in WvW for example), the mouse cursor response becomes far too slow to target with it.
