I noticed that I have in my achievements area a section titled Dungeons and it lists a number of the dungeons in it and how many levels of that achievement I have completed
Unfortunately I cannot see anywhere what paths I have completed and in what dungeons I have completed them in
Perhaps someone in the back office could write a few lines of script that would allow us to see what paths in the dungeons we have completed please?
@Ceridwen.6703
I have already informed my guildmates that I shall be looking for pastures greener
@lordkrall.7241
The living story is different from the personal story and could if one wished be ignored correct?
@Bubi.7942
When you talk about “The Story” are you referring to the “Personal Story”? or just another area that was added and then could be ignored if one so wished without it affecting your personal story?
@lordkrall.7241 “So LS1 was not considered the “main game” but for some reason LS2 is?”
Huh?
Are you confused?
@Bubi.7942
Could I continue with the main game without playing in these areas?
@Ceridwen.6703
You are of course correct about what you said within your first paragraph and one may just as well talk to a brick wall.
fact of the matter is this area will be a no go area for quite a few, who without a doubt will be looking across the shores for other MMO’s to play. MMO’s that perhaps have more friendlier and congenial players who don’t take umbrage at any negative remarks about their “Precious”
@Bubi.7942
First. “Leap” definition …. Verb…jump or spring a long way, to a great height
Noun……a forceful jump or quick movement.
Now you can define it whichever way you wish
however, I have questions for you
Did these zephyrite skills appear anywhere else within the game?
If these skills did appear within the game were they directly part of the main MMO fantasy part of the game or were they in areas where players could choose to or not to partake and this would not hinder their advancement within the main area?
Of course we already know the answers to these questions as well as the valid point made by the original poster about the change
this you, and many like you who are wearing blinkers, seem to ignore and was what the point of the post was about
Sometimes I despair
The original post did NOT advocate the removal of jumping in anyway at all the point of the post if you had taken the time to read it was that the poster was making a valid point about the use of jumping to carry on forward within the MMO fantasy side of the game whereas previously this was not the case and one could take it or leave it which ever your preference.
It is not as some would suggest a matter of practising so you can jump because if you dislike that aspect of the game previously you could leave it
nor, as some here have made it quite clear in vitriolic terms towards the poster and others who agree with him/her a case of laziness or stupidity. The lambasting of others who have a different opinion which is valid and doesn’t fit into the small boxes you have locked yourselves into is an unacceptable behaviour flaw.
At no time whatsoever has the poster or those who agree with him/her ever suggested that these functions should be removed and if you had read the post you would have understood that, unless of course comprehension is difficult for you, so there is no need to feel threatened by this.
In the normal world you will find people out there with differing opinions you must learn to deal with that in a polite and cordial manner instead of trying to bully others into your way of thinking, this is immature and unwise
So to recap:
The point that the original post made was the change in the play of GW2 making jumping a prerequisite to continue with the main story and play.
This is a valid point.
@Equilibriator.8741
Clearly you have read the title of the post but either you glossed over the post itself or didn’t comprehend what the post meaning was
I shall reiterate: the poster did not say jumping should be removed he/she said that the game at least gave you an option to progress through the game without participating in that sport.
This point you seem to have neglected.
The game was going “forward” handsomely without forcing people to have to do the jumping. Now that has changed and the poster has made a valid comment about it.
Your bile laced post and derogatory comments only go to prove my previous post
To recap what the original poster meant was
that jumping in this game was optional and thus gave those who dont like to play platform games a chance to continue with the main fantasy MMO part of this game
he also meant that because now, jumping has been introduced as the main part of the game it restricts his/her progress
This does not mean the poster wishes to have any of the jumping puzzles removed, just that he/she would like to have have the jumping exercises put back where they were at the release of this game namely as a secondary part of the game for those who wish to hop around like a bunny on a bed spring
Quite a few of the comments that followed were quite negative, insulting and puerile to say the least and sadly shows me what type of society we have become.
Just because someone cannot do jumping or dislikes jumping in a game where that need was kept separate but now has become an issue does not and should not give an opening to those who seem to think that this is some sort of weakness and like bee to honey behave in an immature bullying way
It is a sad sign of what we as a species have become
@ Alaster.7186 “Please don’t change it. Achievements aren’t a gaurentee. If you can’t get it, you don’t have what it takes to get it…don’t ask them to dumb it down for you.”
You are not the first person to associate a dislike for jumping and puzzles within a fantasy MMO as “Dumbing it Down” and thereby implying that the person who dislikes such activities is “Dumb”
Perhaps the point of this post and many many others like it is that these activities based upon platform games was a sideline and the main thrust of the game was the fantasy and fighting part of the mmo
This person, like the others who have posted similar negative topics on the same subject do not agree with the direction GW2 has gone whereby one is now forced to take part in jumping puzzles to progress forward within the game
To insult a person, lambasting them because they have different view from yours does not aid the debate, on the contrary it deflects its away by showing us how intolerant some people are within the community to others who also have a voice and wish to speak.
By any definition that is a sign of a bully and we all know why bullies exist and the best way to deal with them.
the point of the post was that the poster could play all the way through to level 80 without having to partake in jumping activities
that this poster cannot do this within the “New Area” is the point of the post and does show a significant shift or change within the basic game
that was the point of the original post
You latest response has totally missed the point of the original post nageth
Nageth.5648 : “The requirement of vistas for zone completion should have been a tip off that some ability to move in 3 dimensional space accurately was likely going to be required for some aspects of the game.”
These vista’s you speak of could be ignored if you did not wish to partake in jumping activities
The point of the poster was that the new area does not allow for any choice and starts of with an exercise in jumping.
I believe if read correctly the original poster was quite clear that he/she was not advocating a total removal of jumping puzzles just that the jumping should be kept separate from the main part of the game
This post was made because the poster said he did not like the jumping aspect that is creeping into the main game.
Jumping we were lead to believe when the game was first released was something extra that players could do to to pass the time or help them fulfil their need for recognition amongst their peers.
The main part of the game was about the MMO part of the area and those who chose to, could ignore that.
The poster’s point that now the main MMO area has now changed into a jumping puzzle is quite a valid point and that this poster does not like to or cannot should not be seen as an opportunity for others to lambaste the poster because of his views
I happen to agree with the poster on the point about puzzle and jump creep within the game
I agree with you on this point.
I do understand that the GW team seem to think that cramming so much in is going to please everyone and in some small way it might.
However integrating all these aspects instead of keeping them separate is turning the game into one for those who can/like jumping hopping or puzzle challenges whilst leaving the rest of the players who prefer a good fight and exploration at the first jump area.
It is quite frustrating and the GW2 team need to re-think this.
I walked into the “New” area and my first thought was “Wait I have been here before” the only difference was that now I am on the ground trying to hop/skip/jump my way around whilst previously it was quite a long way up floating above an island.
So, in conclusion, this may be a great area for those who like to bounce around like a bunny on speed but for quite a lot of us this is just another one of those no go areas
Re: My post just above
To the Admins, one should not look at this as a bad thing so much as an opportunity
If Arena net was to set up a few fake accounts and then login at that phishing site one could watch as they access the game and follow what they do. They may use a proxy to access the game. They may not. but you would actually see if they had friends online who were working with them. I personally would do this as the infiltration could clean out a whole network.
I believe the 194th rule of acquisition would be applicable here “It’s always good to know about new customers before they walk in your door”

I have started to receive emails titled
“Guild Wars 2 Account Be Shut Down Inform”
Purporting to come from “ArenaNet (noreply@guildwars2.com)”
There were two reasons these emails made me suspicious
1.. The bad use of the English language and a sentence structuring that can only have come from a non English speaking native that had been translated by babelfish
2.. These emails were sent to an email address of mine that I do not use with GW2
here is the content of the email with the outside links disabled
“We are sorry to inform you that your login account will be shut down or partially limited within 72 hours due to currency transactions or abnormal login. If you want to remove restrictions, please click the following link to validate:
h t t p s://account.guildwars2.com/AccountVerification/login?
Recently, account abuse is obviously rising up. Please pay attention to the safety your account. Don’t share account with any other people. We will not ask for your email password in any forms on our end. With the password, hackers will be able to log in the account through our security verification. If you have any account problem, please click on the link below:

The Guild Wars 2 Team"
By hovering (I did Not click the link on) the mouse over the a"AccountVerification" link this address appeared at the bottom of the screen
“accouint.verificcatioon.login.45a02a-37d-3466-4ddee-b38c-f316adce4f1 and ended with .tk/guildwars2-support
as you can see clearly the “.tk” tells us that this link is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand located in the South Pacific and not Guild Wars in America or Europe
My Advice to you all is if you should get an email from Guild Wars then do NOT click any links given in the email instead, go to the GW2 website using one of your bookmarks or googling GW2

Then we shall wait and see
@Naginto
Stupidity can be judged when measured against intelligence but nothing in your post remotely reflects any measurable intelligence
opening your chests for achievements gives you a minimum of 1 gold some chests contain 5 gold now times that by the number of people playing the game
just saying “Flooding the market with gold? I’m sorry I can’t take this thread seriously.”
doesn’t actually say anything except that perhaps you disagree but are too lazy to even post why you disagree or perhaps you disagree because disagreeing is all you can do and for you there are no reasons needed.
I ask this because that is the conclusion I have come too having now watched in disbelief as you flood the market with gold and Celestial Skins
Something always irked me about a game that has no progression upwards but, instead, chooses to progress sideways. Eventually one thinks that there is no sense in continuing.
with regards to the handouts that you have instigated through the achievements I am not sure what to think. Part of me takes a cynical view at that. As flooding the market with gold will encourage those to spend it but where? Oh wait I also got some black lion items. Perhaps I should spend it on Gems? and et-voila one sees the price of gems staying either constant or rising.
My Char is level 80 and has all exotics there is in my mind no sense in even spending one second trying to get the mats together for Legendary items as they do not hit for anymore than the exotics so in effect all you are doing is spending all that time to get a new skin. But then with the introduction of Zephyrs you now have a situation where getting rid of all your Junk in your storage you can get recipes for new skins. Wait…. In the last expansion of GW1 didn’t you introduce that idea but instead it was used for buffs?
To add to this I do not know what to make of the introduction of holographic wings in a game that doesn’t allow flying? Was that some kind of inside joke from people sitting around the conference table who had had far too much coffee that afternoon?
This and many other things are what have caused me to conclude that indeed you are wrapping up the game and moving on.
In answer to your question “Not a hope in hell”
Jon
I rather suspect people are going back to that MMO because there is nothing out there that has really addressed the present day issues that players have with MMO’s so it’s back to the thing you know. So, from a psychological view point it is perfectly normal behaviour
I noticed Narkosys
Personally I think they went the wrong way with this game.
The ‘Whole New approach’ in my opinion is really nothing more than taking bits out of other games and ‘Plonking’ them all into this one so as to attract maximum numbers. Which leads me to conclude that this was a pure money making exercise.
Making money in this world is fine if you have that bent however, to dress up a pig’s ear as fillet is not really an ethical behavioural trait.
If you haven’t played the unmentionable game before purple sabre mount would not have rung any bells drifter but in order to illicit responses I had to put it such a way that those who have played that MMO would know
I just found it strange that I see such similarities but then as a friend just told me this minute the original anet team were in fact from that MMO before they setup GW so that does explain a few things
Perhaps even that they cannot get passed their past
Is it me or do I see more and more of another subcription MMO who’s name shall remain unspoken in this game
‘The Consortium’ in LA rings a bell wasn’t that used in the Expansion of that MMO?
‘ChillWind’ Wasn’t that where you had to grind for the purple sabre mount?
Any other similarities that I have missed feel free to post them below
With regards to the increase in the numbers calling for the ability to be able to check other players gear if that happens then dungeons especially high level ones will become the dreaded mmo catch 22
The LFG channel would perhaps be a help but the problem with this is that so many in one town LFG that Message Suppression is almost inevitable and the time it takes to have that dropped from your chat is quite long
Perhaps the ability to form random groups for dungeons or guild groups would be better it would certainly alleviate most of the problems
A good point Surbrus which I had not thought about
I have two level 80 Characters I don’t think there will be a third level 80 and I agree with you about the feelings you get just before you double click that gw2 exe file. Stangely enough I reinstalled a strategy game on my computer which now give me more pleasure than this game.
I think the word “hope” in your post is what anet is relying upon and sadly if it really has come to that then you know the relevant amount of forethought has not been put into the game
I just keep getting a feeling of desperation here and the thought that if we smother the players with new content they will not be bored but the consequences of this and of all the new content have not been thought through properly in my opinion
I foresee that the new dungeon will be one of those elitist things leading to that old mmo catch 22 where groups will form only if you have certain armour pieces. Armour Pieces which you can only get in that particular dungeon.
This will lead only to a negative outcome
I have to say that the lack of forethought in this game is of some concern
Today’s experience showed me many things
A) A new event in Lions Arch but serious lag issues during the initial fight
Surely those at anet knew a great many people would be turning up for it?
B) Not all of us like to grind dungeons
this for me then has become a non-event
C) because there is a dungeon in LA now and no LFG function there are many who will have their searching for group messages Suppressed
Just looking at those three things leads me to believe that thought about what anet is producing is there but thought about what the consequences of that production are not
(edited by Spoofy.8239)
I find it illogical that there are no “Mark” or “Well” Elite skills for the necro
Please add one even if it is a “Well of Whoopdidoo”
Thank you
I am passed the point of caring anymore whether there are bots, hackers or other manipulations going on
as far as i have experienced the only differences are the cash amount and the XP the lower the level the lower the amount the rest of the items i have received have been similar with my lower level chars and higher level ones
Char bag slots cost 400 gems each
new char slot costs 800 gems
just get a new char slot and leave the old char as previously suggested as a good mule should your bank slot ever get filled
dont forget anet is pretty hot on anniversaries the chances are pretty high that when your char reaches 1 year old there may be something waiting for you…..
I am not saying it will happen just a thought though….
I have a couple of chars
Ranger called – Melandru Barrymoore (she went into rehab having dabbled with plant fibres in GW1)
Guardian called – Major Catastrophe
and an Asura called – Psst I am Down Here
I am on sorrows furnace and have reported the same 12 bots for the last 2 weeks.
I have now given up doing that as clearly they are either unwilling to do anything about it or unable.
the bots are placed where the money is so we are talking about fast tun around missions and it is there they congregate.
Having someone pop in at these places would be fine
However, catching them in the start up areas would be better as that would stop them even reaching the higher level areas.
but I fear, that this will not happen as this is still a source of income for them.
previous posters on this subject are now just ignoring them which is what i intend to do.
With regards to coughing up $60 for an expansion that at the moment will not happen for me unless they offer something other than new class and a new area because the new expansion will just be a rinse and repeat which would bore me.
Did i get my $60 worth for this game ….answer yes But not worth coughing up for an expansion i feel
No one is forced to follow anyone, but they do.
Which is proof that all the sheeple will lead the rest into oblivion.
Just because someone has a commander’s title doesn’t make them a commander it just tells you that they spent 100 gold getting it.
That in itself should be telling you quite a lot of things.
I have had one exotic drop which was strangely enough a level 74 weapon….. certainly raised an eyebrow with that drop.
Fortunately I get quite a few yellow drops which I salvage immediately for ectos and sigils sigils I flog the ectos go into the bank to drool over at my leisure
Sorry i have had to put this here as i have searched through the forums and found nowhere to put this
There is now and increasing amount of Gold selling in-game mail spam appearing and there is no function to report them or have them blocked
Clearly this needs to be rectified in short order otherwise like all vultures the gold selling community will be hovering over our carcasses flooding the system with spam mail.
the report function Must have an account block function otherwise this becomes a useless tool and whilst you are thinking about this you may wish to have the report function auto link the spammers account for easy banning purposes
There is an urgency to this problem for this could get out of hand quite quickly
That there is no space in this forum for such matter is of concern to me and please dont take this wrong when i say that it seems to me that a lot of time and effort has gone into thinking what players want in an MMO but not much thinking has gone into what players will do in an MMO.
In otherwords the ability to block and report spammers and their in game mail should have already been put in place.
Thank you for your time in this matter
