They’re `reacting` because people just geared out characters so they could relax, and now Anet is basically forcing them to regear if they want to stay on top tier. Players have a right to be angry about this when it was said that this type of gear treadmill wouldn’t be around.

Why do you need to know ahead of time?
So they can exploit the hell out of the market and itemization as much as possible before hand, obviously. They want free money and resources.

We need more WvW-oriented people to move onto Fort Aspenwood for the oceanic prime time.
Even if it’s a only a couple hundred more players, we need more so we can at least maintain some of our holdings against other servers who do have those oceanic players in strong numbers.
It would be great to be strong all times of day so that upgrading assets actually means something.

Look at the farming alternatives in the game. :/ You have to scramble and panic just to get mobs that are capable of dropping higher end loot because if you’re L80, farming L80 mobs, your loot drops are terrible.
Instead, you have to scramble from event to event hoping to get claim on a mob’s drops while 20+ other people do the same thing (otherwise the mobs aren’t level 84, and the loot rates are crap…)
So, you can either scramble around getting nearly nothing except for event completion, or you can sit in Lion’s Arch with no travel time and farm a lottery chest that will be there for sure with one cash shop item, some halloween crafting mats and 2 green or better equipment pieces in it every time.
The choice is pretty obvious, unless you have the alternative of farming some bugged event somewhere in the game – which you’ll get in trouble for doing.
We need a zone where L85 mobs are the default mob, so we have some difficult farming of the normal enemies – where we can take a group without ridiculous monster hp/toughness/mechanics like you get in dungeons.

Use it to reskin a guild backpack?

Beaten on all eight of my characters. :>

Why would they soulbind it when theres people like me who dont want the set? Its just the 70 – 78 exotics set with a different rune inside it.
If you don’t want the holiday event set, don’t do the holiday event?

Absolutely loved this puzzle. I found it to be challenging and fun.
To boast and to point out an issue though – If I found this to be challenging, this is going to be ridiculous for most players to complete.

Isn’t one of the main points of this event to distribute a neat set of armor to people who put in the effort to get it?
Take the profit out of the equation.
• Make the armor set similar to karma gear – no salvage, no sale, account bound
• Leave the boots in the clock tower puzzle where they are.
• Make the other 5 pieces come from Labyrinth event chests in specific locations for each of the 5 (spiders, candy, skeletons, gargs, mummies)
• People can still transmute the equipment for looks and runes and stats transferred to other pieces.
Everybody gets a cool set of gear if they put in the effort & the economy is spared the impact of a flood of salvaged items.
It’s neat that people can get salvage-fodder exotics an all from the event chests, but they can get those from anywhere else already. Why not keep the holiday event drops to gear?

Completed with all 8 characters.
It’s a pretty rough puzzle, I can’t see most casual players beating it.

Anet: Regarding the chest in the middle of the labyrinth.
• Please change Mad King’s Armor pieces to Soulbound on Acquire, make them unable to be salvaged (similar to karma gear) and make the set drop in sequential order as people remain to continue farming the full suit.
The point of the holiday event is to collect the holiday armor, not crazy money from salvaging the gear, right?
Shoes come from the clock tower, make the other 5 pieces come from the chest in the labyrinth.
People might want to sit there making crazy profits, but ultimately, you should be consider making this a non-profit event so there isn’t as much reason for people to sit there farming it for money. This way there is a significantly lessened effect on the economy and people still get something really nice from this event.
• Knights of Glory and Beer – Fort Aspenwood
Finished it on 8 characters.
My only recommendation is allow more people to load in off the cut scene, I’ve seen numerous people sitting there in the video sequence still as the event starts. Give another 5 seconds or so before the creeping energies start to climb from below so the folks with slower computers stand a chance and can make the run to the first platform.
Other than that, this was a treat of a puzzle and a good pain in the kitten to figure out.
Keep em comin!

People really need to stop devil’s advocating the whole `but you had a -chance-` crap.
You’re distracting from the issue that the -chance- is not sufficient for what is being provided vs the cost.
If somebody drops 50usd into the game on keys, they really should expect to see 2-5 skins pretty reliably. 10usd is reasonable for a skin, but luck happens too, hence the variable suggested reward.
81 keys: 2 drops. That tallies out to about 3000 gems per skin obtained. That’s bogus.
• Knights of Glory and Beer – Fort Aspenwood
Seriously not pleased with the drop rate. I’m really happy I didn’t drop USD to get these Gems, but regardless it adds up to a lot of wasted time.
• Knights of Glory and Beer – Fort Aspenwood
I got kitten off and spent my bankroll of gems after failing 20 keys… I went all in and only managed to get 2 skins off 81 chests opened.
• Knights of Glory and Beer – Fort Aspenwood
81 opened….
2 skins (rifle and shield)
15 harvesting tools, 32 repair cans, 4 express merch, 3 bank, 5 revive, 65 fine trans, 4 BL Salvage, 2 trader
…and obviously enough tonics and boosters to choke a dolyak.
Figured somebody would be interested to see the results for an idea on their odds.

Impatient.. could have been worded differently.
• Knights of Glory and Beer – Fort Aspenwood
Maybe we should just claim that they’re having a `conga line` instead of botting…. It’d be fine to share screenshots of `that` right?
The real issue isn’t sharing screenshots is it?

[BUG] Box of Berserker's Draconic Armor = Berserker's Gladiator Armor = Sad Charr
Posted by: Spottycat.7218
I was basically told to screw myself in regards to this bug. My time and money wasn’t important to them… maybe they’re handling it just like the rampant botting issue?
