On side note, Herald (or Revenant) runes would be nice if they had a re-work, specifically slot 6. I’m thinking of like, +2 upkeep or something. I know that makes it an entirely class specific rune at this point but then again Herald/Revenants have no way of increasing energy gain whereas the only other class that has any form of upkeep (Thief/DD) have multiple traits that increase initiative gain. Or a trait re-work. I’m looking at Bolster Fortifications >.<

This trait has never been touched (afaik), nor do I often see people bring anything up about it. I’ve always had a dislike for this trait, mainly because of 1) the high threshold and 2) it seems kind of backwards.

After 90% health you lose 120 toughness, which means you die a little faster. Also, anyone in the habit of using the build editor (as well as in game) will note that the 120 toughness is automatically applied. So if you’re aiming for a certain amount of toughness/armor, you’ll be short of that because really, unless you’re fighting extremely bad people, you won’t stay above 90% health, especially in this zerker meta.

Personally I would like to see a re-work in this trait. For example, changing it to:

Gain toughness while your health is under the threshold – with the threshold being at 75%, or even 50 and bumping up the toughness value to 180 perhaps.

I know this is really a minor QoL kind of thing, but this one single trait in the Defense line has always irked me since day 1. Does anyone else feel this trait needs a change? Or am I just being way too nitpicky.

Still works great, but I still use Plague 90% of the time, mainly for pushing blinds to relieve some pressure and when you don’t really need it, pop it for stability for a stomp (which may seem a waste, but when you’re doing 1v2+ on a necro that first stomp really matters)

Ground Targeting Sucks

Dear Anet,

I know many will disagree, but I think ground targeting should be optional. Especially on staff fire #2. I would rather hit a hotkey and have the lava automatically pop where my target is. Same thing with Blink. Get rid of ground targeting. Just let me point my toon where I want to go. Necros have this option in reverse for wells.

Again, it should be optional, so if you like ground targeting the way it is, then keep it, but let the rest of us have the option to turn it off. Because looking for my mouse cursor and farting where to put the green circle is a waste of time and breaks immersion. IMO.

You want to make this game even easier than it already is? It’s your fault you can’t keep track of your own mouse. And Necros have this option in reverse for wells, yes, but it casts on themselves, not on target. You want a Lava Font at your feet every time you hit 2? I think OP has L2P issues.

Excuse me, but unless there was a bug in the trait I never knew about, when did Soothing Disruption ever give protection? IIRC, it was always vigor and regeneration. The only time you ever got protection from a cantrip was when you used Armor of Earth. Also, your overuse of the period is annoying. It makes me think you’re really depressed. If so, you should take a break from gaming and go outside and get some sun.

The runes I find are helping maintain pressure, and it helps against anyone with Hoelbrak runes and/or -40% condi food, allowing for at least 1 tick of burning. I guess if people wanted to drop down to at least 60% burn duration it’d work too, using either Rare Veggie Pizza + traits and swap out runes for something more useful (like Traveler, boon duration, healing power, Soldier’s) or keep the burning duration runes and swap out veggie pizza for -40% condi food or healing power food. Relatively flexible dependent on what you like.

Excellent thread. This actually made me rework my guardian to use Permeating Wrath on my build because my current build was just too boring:

It’s pretty much your average bunker guardian, but I figured with 2s burning (on targets without -condi duration), you get to apply more pressure via burning rather than relying on autoattacks from staff or greatsword skills and retaliation.

I chose 20 Radiance over 20 Zeal for a few reasons:
Same amount of condition duration because of Radiant Fire, also allows you to use a torch if you feel like it
More condition damage, even if not a whole lot
More precision to proc Vigorous Precision slightly better
Justice is Blind minor trait to secure stomps, followed by Renewed Justice to recharge VoJ
Shorter recharge on Signet of Resolve (I only use this because massive lack of self condi removal)

Downsides I’ve found are shorter boon durations, lower healing power and less condi removal. Though I’ve only found the third problem to be really an actual problem XD

Those are my reasons, because I felt like that 200 power, 10% more damage vs burning foes and Greatsword Mastery weren’t really worth it compared to what I gain in Radiance (arguable if you’re going for more raw damage). I’ve been finding this build to be pretty decent in all the group fights I’ve been in so far (5-8vX). Only real issue I have is when I use SY! and pull off a plethora of conditions and start melting, but then again regen, dodge rolls and staff 4 >

Maybe SoS should take notes.

T’is truth. I never lack for gold for anything WvW-related. It is drilled into our heads that anything outside of WvW is a waste of time and money.

What should be changed are individual skills, or type of skills, having different AoE limits. For example: Heals should be limited to 5, damaging AoE should be 10-15, and party buffs/condition spreading skills should be 5-10, for a very simple way of doing it, then they can observe what needs to be tweaked and pick certain skills to increase/decrease the limit from there.

I see them everywhere now. It’s such a clutter to my screen. I don’t need to see who’s Master Carver, or Combat Healer all the time. Give us a setting to hide the title unless we specifically click on that character.

Are these accounts permanently closed without further investigation? I was going to post in the Tickets for Review thread but saw in an earlier post in that thread that the accounts will not be released.

Like, I can’t call up my bank or anything to dispute this? And I’d have to buy another copy of the game, start up all over again, reconnect with all my friends, etc etc, just because I’m not being given a chance to show proof that I was indeed using my own credit card and my credit company had ordered the chargeback and it wasn’t a fraudulent transaction?

Well yes I knew that, but I lose the 25% boost from the signet entirely, it seems, or is that 25% boost so negligible in combat that I don’t notice it?

I’ve noticed that when I enter combat (fights, or taking fall damage) with an IMS signet equipped (Signet of Locust, Signet of Air and Signet of Shadows tested so far), I ended up losing the speed boost until I get out of combat. First started noticing on my Necro when I was doing the EB jumping puzzle and took fall damage, and tried to do the following jump only to completely mess it up, and then I tested on my Ele, and my friend tested on his Thief.

Anyone else having this problem?

Sigil of Energy and Attunement Change

Prior to 3/12/12 update, changing attunements would proc my Superior Sigil of Energy, returning 50% of my energy, and now it doesn’t. Noticed it while I was running a dungeon, and then tested outside in other random maps. My Superior Sigil of Battle still procs on attunement change, and I’ve tried swapping the two daggers from MH to OH to see if that did anything, but to no effect.

Anyone else having this problem?

PvP/PvE Titles

Was talking to some guildies about the commander tag and how easy it is to attain by people who have it just because, and was thinking there should be something that makes WvW more interesting, and that would be PvP titles (maybe even PvE).

What I’m getting at is, since we already can display titles (like Ascendant, Combat Healer, etc), why not allow them to actually do something? Like Combat Medic for example, would actually make you a combat medic; where your heal skills are maybe 5-10% more effective, you resurrect allies faster or take less damage, etc. Or a title that allows you to carry 5-10 more supplies. These titles you would have to work towards during a long career in WvW, and aren’t something you purchase like the commander tag. Also in addition to some titles, some give auras (aoe benefits to up to 5-10 allies, or more). An example would be like a modified commander title, that makes nearby allies move 10% faster, or deal 5% more damage, or something along those lines, where players benefit from having a commander-like figure in their midst.

Not sure if this has been brought up, but I thought it’d be pretty neat. It’d give everyone something to work towards in WvW rather than just grinding for badges and zerging constantly. Also there could be titles for PvE as well that affect players and their teams/allies. Also, realized I pulled this idea from GW1 heh, but still, would be a nice implementation, I think.

If they take out Alt+F4, how else am I supposed to show the symbolism of the middle finger to zergs that want to 30v1 me?

I think being able to drag 30 enemy players around for a minute, then hopping a few times followed by an Alt+F4 prior to being downed a wonderful mechanism. In a game that promotes outnumbering your foe to win, I find this to be a nice counter.

That’s your own fault for running around by yourself. GW1 had the dishonorable system for griefers, why not implement it, or something similar here?

Should be something like: 1 minute “dishonorable” for the first alt f4, 5 minutes for the next one (within a time frame), and it adds more time each time you do it, with a max of say 15 minutes or so.
