With this build, you can keep perma swiftness and 10 stacks of might outside of combat.
20-25 might stacks easily in combat yielding 2900-3100 power and 1300-1500 condi dmg. This melts thieves and mesmers with just jump shot and grenade barrage if they jump you.

Access to stability, invis, elixir s for stomps.

lots of condi removal from elixirs plus over 2500 armor and 23k life before guard stacks to stay way more tanky than most burst classes.

With this build you can easily win 1v1 any class (necro included due to high power and condi pressure) and if you are half decent at engi you can 1v3 most in wvw without playing pure regen/tank and taking 10 years to down a group. (can also clear a camp extremely quick)

I know HGH is past its prime but this build has been excellent for WvW and tPvP.

The only engi to counter a necro is a decap engi on skyhammer. Seriously. Run a condi necro which you can get almost anywhere the build that is good, an you can OWN them. I, being that i’ve been playing necro, own the heck outta them and yea. Whoever says engi is the best condi class doesnt know necro. And if they’re zerker turrets, try to dodge them as much as you can, use fear to CC the engi. Not sure if you know this but an engi has 1 form of stability and i dont think it’s accessed via the turret build.

Only bad engis lose to condi necros. or any necro…

but only bad engis play turret builds anyways. they are one dimensional and once turrets get aoed they go down too quick. they are only good for solo holding a home point from 1 person. more than that they are terrible.

autoaiming on grenades would be terrible for anything beside pve where mods stand still. the point of grenade targeting is to lead the target

Shout builds are atrocious for a commander. What use is a commander who isn’t running stability, but has FGJ, SIO and OMM? Oh yes, none, because you’re getting flinged around by every Tornado, Spectral Wall & blocked by every Line under the sun.

and I will not build like my followers.. I need to survive, not do dmg and cc.

I have an 80 of every class with multiple different builds so I already know limitations and cool downs of the skills needed.

Is there a current build that is superior for commanding? Obviously I don’t need tons of dps but a little would be nice. Readily available stability would be helpful.

Only class I don’t regularly play in warrior so I’m not sure whats the best for commanding since i only know pvp and roaming builds

See I have a thing against IoJ because I used to be on devona’s rest. so that probably wont happen.

I jumped to HoD but this is too bandwagony (like I expected) so I will probably switch to somewhere else before free xfers are done.

Any thoughts on how CD is currently? or NSP?

To all suggesting Bronze league servers: no thank you. used to be in Devonas awhile back and those bottom servers are just dead compared to others. looking for something in the 13-16 range

Andrew: why would I stay in SBI? this server is so dead and only people to fight are giant map blobs. that’s the opposite of fun for me.

Looking to move down tiers for the free transfers.

I will be bringing a small group of people with me to roam/havoc and looking to see which servers have groups like this. I want groups to fight against so I don’t need a server that already has a monopoly on roaming.

I don’t care if there are zergs on other servers as they are fairly easy to avoid.. I just want to see some smaller groups which will give good fights.

I don’t understand how you think this is a bad thing.. yea, we will lose to bigger/better servers.. but we will have fun fights. and fights in general.

I (and most of the server) would rather lose and have battles constantly to try to win than face low coverage servers like FC, AR, ET, DR, etc… you know how kittening boring that is? when you want to WvW and no one is there? I would much rather play better servers.

You wouldn’t happen to have the video of the first time we fought by the lake would you? I don’t understand how you guys had the outnumbered buff at all In any of the fights (maybe we had more on the map in other places or maybe I didn’t see all the pugs we had on us) especially that last one which is what you got footage of either way they were some really good fights that’s I think the only time that we wiped but you guys had really good movement there. Maybe someone else got footage of all the fights would be cool to see.

I don’t think we taped the other fights before that one. But we were seriously out manned. We were one of the only groups on that map at the time with around 20-25 people. both other map zergs there were pushing 30-40 (upscaled included) plus the other groups running around the map.

All in all though, was some fun fights.

@Stimulant, I find S C Heavy 3.0 as the bets overall build atm as it do well in so many areas, this said Its not the best build for every single area, its just wery flexible and let you be good at alot of things. The more specialised builds will ALWAYS be best in their “speciality”.

Example, a pure dueling Phantasm build will always be best at duels, but it be lacking alot in other areas, same a GS glacannon zerg build will be best in this area but eaten alive if trying to raom with it solo.

So If u want to do seveal tasts in wvwvw, gvg, smal/mis/solo roaming etc 3.0 is fantastic, it even a good support build if u get the “signet of share the might”.

If you thu want to specialice in solo romaming or roam with 2 thiefs then Mist 2.0 is faster and better for this.

Another build you might look into for roaming solo or with thiefs is in fact the stealth builds you mention. WERY WERY effective in wvwvw. I play this alot with 2 thiefs and we can destroy big numbers and troll whole zergs.

I have been running the non shatter/stealth build and wow.. that’s the most fun i’ve had on mesmer in awhile… epic troll build that is still effective.

Do you suggest that the Heavy 3.0 build is the best all around build right now? I run with 1-2 thieves away from our zergs and we try to scout areas and take out trailing zergs. When I run with my thief, I can keep up and stay stealthed for getting away and easy survival.. but I am having trouble getting away and keeping up when I play my mesmer.

Would the mist build be better for this sort of play due to high dmg output and permanent swiftness? I am trying the heavy 3.0 and it just seems slow. I have heard of more stealth based build but didnt know if you looked into those sort of things much. Have you updated the Mist build recently?
