HoD, you guys are good sports. I’ve had a lot of fun tonic moments with some of the folks I’ve met from your server, and I’m glad to see groups of you out in force despite the score. BP’s faced weeks like this too so we know what it’s like. Keep bringing the fights and the fun times.

we usually run about 25-30 people. i think at our peak last night we had about 32 [Agg] . it was really refreshing to go up against actual guilds instead of server blobs. all of us had a lot of fun and we are confident that skill wise you guys can go against the t1 guilds and give them a run for their money. hope to get more good fights throughout the week so keep them coming

Figures. The one night I take a break from WvW you all go off and have an epic, hour long, three way battle. Please tell me someone took some video footage.

I sure did, and I am glad I did.

Mad Props to Rekz and Pk, they were absolutely determined to take that keep despite being wiped a couple times. While they were running back, AR would take their turn. In the end, EBay was able to bait some of our guys to the North Inner gate and wiped half of em.

It was literally a non-stop, hour long fight right in front of the Lord Room. Although, I did manage to cut out some boring auto-attacking and some fast forwarding to get it down to 20 mins. Thanks to everyone involved in that fight, was epic fun.

Was anyone from AR or EB recording outside? I know I have a few clips but they’re just that: 30-second clips. I’ve gotta invest in a full version of video recording software! XD

The 3-way, million-man battle at BP Hills will go down as one of the greatest fights of this matchup’s history. Good show, all three servers. That was epic and a huge amount of fun. Thank you, AR and BP, for showing up in full force and turning it into a battle worthy of Tier 1.

There are 6 trebs there. 4 of them can’t hit anything while the other 2 are so far forward, they can be hit by ballista. This happened after we ninjad your fully upgraded bay during NA Primetime. If you don’t want us to call you bad, then stop being bad.

Charrcat, you are one of the most consistently entertaining posters on this forum and I love reading your stuff. Please keep it up, you make me really like Devona’s Rest.

The RNG boxes, instead of being the only way to obtain something, should instead be the cheaper, chancy way to get something. Everything that’s in these boxes should otherwise be obtainable plainly with a set amount of gems.

If folks are in a gambling mood, they could spend a little less gems and get an RNG box in the hope of getting an item for less than regular cost. But there should always be a direct option to purchase all of these Holiday items.

I really like the way they went with the skins (though the gem ones are maybe a bit too high in price; maybe 300 gems seems more reasonable than 500). If I could just plunk down 500 gems for the minis I’d be a very happy camper. But I refuse to buy any more of these mystery boxes after I got the exact same things as the OP in my single box. (2 Reindeer Tonics, 2 Gifts that each resulted in an Ugly Wool Sock.)

I don’t understand why Anet had to go the RNG route with the Wintersday box minis instead of letting us buy a 500-gem pack like in Halloween. I was gladly prepared to drop 500 gems on a pack just like the Spooky Trio, and instead it got turned into a lottery.

I bought only one box just for kicks, got complete junk, and will not be buying any sort of lottery mechanism again.

What’s more baffling is that they listened to all the Halloween complaints and made the weapon skins easily obtainable (which is fantastic!), but went the complete opposite route for minis.

If they would un-bind the Holiday minis and let us buy them from the TP, that would be great. I’m sure they’d be expensive, but at least I could exchange value for an exact item, instead of merely a chance at said item.

A better idea for the Wintersday boxes is to let them contain any of the Holiday gem items, but have ALL the Holiday items obtainable plainly for a set amount of gems as well. That way, you can spend a little more for an assured purchase, or you can spend a little less to gamble. Making the minis RNG-only is very disappointing, especially when other parts of Wintersday (weapon skins) are an improvement from Halloween.

I hope we all have an exciting week! Yak’s, I don’t believe I’ve fought against your server before (at least not recently), so I’m looking forward to the fresh strategies you bring to the WvW table. Mag, even though we’ve been battling for the last (3?) weeks, I enjoy seeing you on the battlefield, and it’ll be good to fight you folks without Crystal Desert breathing down our necks all the time! CD was an interesting fight, but they were truly overwhelming at times. I hope this turns out to be a close and even match-up.

I’m glad to come to the forums and see this post, because I jumped into WvW today and experienced some bad lag and worse culling than before, and I was wondering what was going on. Previously, I had moderate culling but I never felt like I was lagging. Today, WvW seemed much laggier and choppier and it really chugged when all 3 servers were at Stonemist.

Seeing that there’s a new test for this out, I’ll pay attention more the next time I play WvW to see if I can see more enemies, but from my gut reaction without knowing what was going on, WvW felt worse today.

I’m happy to see Anet actively trying to tweak the problem, though!

Tonight was an intense opening match. Crystal Desert, you’re a force to be reckoned with, and Mag, it’s good to see old rivals on the battlefield. From Ehmry’s side holding Stonemist, it was eerie how CD took one hallway and Mag the other, and we were up to our necks trying to hold off both servers at once. That caused us to lose a lot of ground, but I’m glad our folks were able to rally the troops and take back our towers later in the night.

This was one of the most frenetic WvW opening nights I’ve seen. Let’s hope this kind of energy can continue throughout the match, and we can all have a great time during the rest of the week.

Dragonbrand, I spent the whole night in your BL, and I have to say it was a very, very interesting time with a lot of impressive skirmishes and moments of great sportsmanship. It was so awesome to see you out there in your lands in force, with a plan and with some real honest vigor. You had folks defending the most remote areas and patrolling in some really fearsome gank squads. Sometimes I was able to slip away and sometimes I wasn’t, but those chases were intense.

And on top of the great open-field skirmishes, there were moments where you’d wave at us and we’d wave back, and it was all in really good fun. Great time, folks, thanks.

I have two female Charr and find them really fun to play. I love that Anet didn’t make them look like furry human girls and instead they are more like true lions or panthers; that’s a really excellent touch and makes the race feel very genuine. I feel so badkitten playing as a giant, hulking female snow leopard-like creature and just towering over everyone else’s toons.

Also, I like the female Charr’s voice; it reminds me of the lionesses from Lion King a bit and seems to fit.

Dragonbrand, that was a really fantastic (and honestly scary) push for your garrison in the Borderlands on Sunday night. Ehmry seemed to be pretty quiet for the most part, nobody was in map chat, but that was a spirited little defense we put up against your really impressive swarm of people. I had a lot of fun sneaking out of there under your noses, and I’m glad I made it out in one piece because that was one frightening sea of red.

Henge, I really wish you folks the best. I haven’t seen much presence, but I’ve had a lot of fun skirmishing here and there.

Honestly, WvW is better when it’s a close game, but I think with the combination of our loss last week and the Lost Shores event, things got thrown off.

I really, really love this game, but introducing stronger tiers of armor is definitely worrying. At first I didn’t think much of it, but as I’m approaching my first lv 80, the arguments against this apparent power creep are definitely sinking in and making sense.

I love to play WvW. My plan was to slowly get a full set of exotics and be ready for anything. But if we have a new tier that is not only stronger, but one that also sounds incredibly grindy, it makes me a little sad. I play every day, but at a slow pace. I don’t like to grind excessively. And because of this, I don’t want to be outclassed so quickly when I’m only just reaching the original “plateau” of gear and stats.

I have three Charr and I love all of ’em!

Heya! I got in on Phase 2 of the event and it’s been tons of fun all around! Today was really memorable. I was on one of the overflows where the event started late, so we all ended up making an impromptu dance line in Lion’s Arch while we waited. It was a blast!

Once the event started and we got into Southsun Cove, a couple of Anet folks were there with us in the thick of the zerg! That really made my day, seeing those red tags.

Then, of course we all got troll-rolled by a veteran karka. Lots of lols from everyone.
