I have experienced this too. I just assumed it was part of the current Living Story, in which some characters state that waypoints are not functioning properly.

I Gave Up On This Game Am I Wrong?

I have never read a forum post (on any forum) that I have agreed with more. Although I should have said this four months ago, thank you for writing this QueenHysteria . For the months preceding your post I had struggled to enjoy this game. After reading your post, I immediately uninstalled GW2 and played Random Arenas in Guild Wars 1 for a solid three hours. That decade-old game is still as fun as ever. Within two years, this game has lost my interest. It really is a shame.

Game still active enough to buy?

It takes me about 10 – 15 minutes to get into a Solo Queue match, which in my opinion, is way too long (in the Guild Wars 1 days, it often took less than 30 seconds to get into a Random Arenas match).

According to the wiki, these were the features that Arenanet intended to add in the second half of 2013:

Professions and balance
-There will be new unlockable skills and traits.
Precursors, and legendaries
-New legendary weapons.
-New types of legendary equipment (possibly a trinket).
-New precursor acquisition methods (I am aware that Arenanet later announced that this would be postponed)
sPvP
-New map types.
-It will be possible to gain legendary weapon skins in sPvP.
-Additional rewards and growth will be added to the major competitive sPvP tournaments.

Do you guys think that Arenanet adequately implemented these features?

EDIT: Here is a link to the primary source of these announcements.

I’m very disappointed by the way this game is turning out, in my opinion Arenanet/you has/have made mistake after mistake for at least a few months now but in my opinion this is a new low: you/they try to fix a design flaw (not being able to change traits anywhere) by a cashshop item.

Actually… I think he doesn’t know that he can reset traits for 3 silver [“… (Not being able to change traits anywhere) by a cashshop item”]

Fail : P

By “anywhere”, he means “in any place.” Currently, the game only allows you to reset traits by visiting Profession trainers (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Trainer). This of course excludes the times when traits are reset by using training manuals.

I completely agree with the OP. Attributes in the original Guild Wars could be adjusted without a problem (i.e. easily and without a fee) anywhere you were located. When I say easily, I mean that there was a MINUS sign and a plus sign next to each Attribute. This is unlike the GW2 trait system, which for some idiotic reason only has a plus sign (in addition to the fact that you have to go to a profession Trainer and pay to have your traits reset).

Now Arenanet wants us to pay for the ability to customize our characters’ traits wherever we are? This has to be one of the most irrational and greedy actions I’ve seen Arenanet take.

Is solo arena the substitute for dueling?

This is great! It sounds like Arenanet is finally putting true Random Arenas into the game. I’ve been waiting for something like this since launch!

The game draws inspiration from the crab guild challenge but plays a bit differently. There’s achievements, titles, and prizes for participants and winners.

Crab Toss will only be around for the duration of living story events at Southsun Cove. But don’t be too sad, as far as activities go, you might have a very exciting year ahead of you.

Key Word: “might”

Gotta love Arenanet’s convenient ambiguity.

Man, that would pretty screwed up if Arenanet did not un-ban your officer. How ridiculous is that? A nice guild only trying to host a fun community event gets punished due to the flaws of Arenanet’s reporting/banning system? They better fix this soon.
