Personally, I voted ‘Yes’ to this, as did the rest of my team. So we are also disappointed with the result. But that was an accepted risk when we decided to poll the community about WvW development rather than just following our own vision.

Excuse me? It was your vision of rotating borderland every 3 months, you havent asked us before about this, you decided it alone.
Now you have polled players where 70% want mixed borderlands and 30% rotation.
Why rotation didnt need 75% to win also?

Something is wrong here. Anet wanted to listen to the community, but now they are deciding that rotation borderland will be better for the game , when 70% of players want mixed bl.

Also next poll will be rigged, people will vote to remove desert bl just because it will be in rotation every 3 months, because you- Anet have decided to do it and ignore 70% of players.

System seems good to me. Winning the skirmish gives same amount of points if the prime time players win it or if the off time players win it.

I don’t understand why people are complaining that this change makes their gameplay somehow less valuable.

I think its more the action level multiplier. So different time zones are awarded the same points but the prime time one would be X*3 where as the off hours would be X*1 for a victory. To be fair it was stated that this is the secondary system if needed.

There would be a new system which counts activity from all 3 worlds on all 4 maps and determines activity level during 2h skirmish. So even if it is not prime time, it could be still action level 3. But i dont think it is good idea to enforce prime time hours, all of the skirmishes should depend only on activity.

During off hours, the multiplier might stay at 3 or drop to 2 or 1, depending on on activity level.

What about adding limit to server transfers? For example you can transfer only once every 6 months. This would limit server stacking and help to balance populations.

Something must be changed with transfers, if we want to have balanced populations.

No? Before making any WvW season, they must rework first whole ppt system. What is the point of WvW season where server is winning by the best coverage, and there is no comeback option? Much skills…

Remove EoTM or limit its use

The devs will fix wvw population issues and we will be ok, no need to take aggressions out on a superior wvw game mode design like eotm and its players.

Tuesday will be here soon. Breathe people, breathe. It’s going to be ok.

Will they? If this is going to be simple merge of servers, they will not fix anything.

Servers Merge!

None of you make any sense. All he’s said is “population beta”. There’s nothing to beta test when you talk about a server merge because it is just a one-and-done moving of accounts around in a database, a technology they already have. Please think more clearly next time.

Merging of servers will not fix any issues with population balance, players will still be able to transfer to the best servers and stack it.
Do you really think this is their solution on which they have worked over 1 year? They could merge of servers long time ago…

WvW has been a very complicated system. We are changing some of the core architectural components. It will allow us to implement some of the changes Tyler outlined, and also provide us a foundation for more flexibility moving forward.

The WvW team’s current top priority is fixing population imbalance. It’s a really hard technical problem. It has taken us a long time to ship a solution, so it’s been a long time since we’ve shipped significant updates, and of course that hurts.

If they are really working on this big overhaul for 1 year+, i dont think they have picked easy way to “fix” population imbalance by just merging servers or making eotm system.
With guild alliance system, server community would still be able to play together, there would be now alliance pride.

Few ideas:

- Private commander tag icon – only squad members can see it.

- Two diffrent target options – Squad-wide target and subgroup target.

- A lot of WvW guilds are using different commander tags for different roles. Example one for melee leader, and another one for focus party. It seems like each squad can have only 1 commander tag, so guilds will have to split to different squads.
Add markers/different tags to assign different roles and make them visible to other people in your squad.

- Possibility of changing HP bar color.

- Visible conditions on members of your subgroup.

- If guild with 30-35 members will focus only on unlocking basic arena (where you can at least fight, without any decorations), will it still take 2 months?

- In Gilded Hollow guild hall, there is a gap around playable arena. Can’t you just add an upgrade which would fill this space and increase the size of arena?

- Tell us more about bigger arena. When can we expect it? 1-2 months? Will you still need a guild hall to unlock this arena?

Will Stability be Getting a Buff?

How can you dodge or block static field or other CC ? Cast time of static field is very low, and it can be casted right on your face, and you do not have time to avoid it. Some people clearly have no idea about game mechanics.

I agree, stab was too OP before, but right now it is too weak. I like the idea of adding CD between loss of stability stacks ( like 0.5-1s), so big zergs will not be able to remove all stability from small groups within 1 second by just spamming cc skills. Stability change buffed big zergs even more.

Next question is, how to discourage running only with big zergs/blobs? How to make them less effective? Do not get me wrong, i like running with big zergs also, but it is too mandatory to do anything. Stability would not be a problem then, because it is more balanced in a small group fights ( 10-30 vs 10-30).
Overall dmg across all professions after specialization patch is way too high, which buffed big zergs again. So first step would be to balance dmg or stats on pve gear ( you can see that they are increasing hp/armor of mobs in expansion, because dmg is way higher than before).
What about adding debuff, if there are more than 40-50 players around. This debuff would decrase dmg, armor, supply capacity, travel speed of each player.

I know with the new map, they are trying to split big zergs, but i still dont see it. You can have emergency wp in keeps, so travel time will not be an issue for big zergs.
What do you think about it?

Skill lag gone?

Hey all just wanted to update real quick! We’ve been investigating an issue that was introduced recently which we suspect could be causing increased lag in WvW. Today, we’ll be doing a hotfix to improve server performance with the hope that it mitigates the lag we’ve all been experiencing.

Keep an eye out once the hotfix is live and let us know if you notice a difference!
