What fps do you guys get with an iris pro gpu?
you can see your fps, will that not in some way be related to a possible lag or something?>
Is there anyone who has the Late 2013 Retina 15" MBP, but without the 750M Nvidia card in it. So just with the integrated Iris Pro (5200) card?
I am so wondering how the performance is , with this “basic” 15".
Is this decent, and perhaps a little better compared to the 13" models, with the normal Iris graphics inside.

If the GW2 port only uses 1 CPU core, maybe you can set the affinity for the core with something like this:
wine Gw2.exe -dx9single &>/dev/null &
sleep 2
taskset -p “0×1” $(pgrep Gw2.exe)
Others reported that they made a startup script, which optimizes the usages of multiple cores (under Linux)

And some say, they managed to increase their performance by assigning a core for each process.

Another thing I found is, that people say they received a big fps increase with Wine 1.7.1 with CSMT patch

you can build this around celestial gear, but also a combination of soldiers (PVT) with Knight’s jewelery. Or just the way around
Lasiurus, can you share some more details about your gear/traits?
are you running with celestial stuff/knight’s/soldiers?!
Just some thoughts, which you maybe already checked:
- Wineskin (wine variant) has a version which boosts Direct3D
- Also wine has a 64bit version (wine64), can this help out in any way?
- And have a look at the Crossover engine, which has an open source variant

If they really want us to use different builds , maybe they should consider:
- making Evasive Arcana a master trait
Maybe then this will free up points, which can be distributed among other trait lines.

I do understand all the points of view, and ofc as an ele I am not always running in water.
But I raised this point, mainly because of the current “point-of-view” of the wvw system.
It is all dps focussed.
My idea is aiming at a more versatile wvw engine, who also keeps track of healing done, but maybe also damage reductions or whatever.
Hard core wvw groups will stay and those are the fun groups to run with in Wvw.
I am more hoping that Anet can balance the rewarding system for WXP around it, while keeping track of all the other aspects they put in the game (instead of only power-dps characters)
If a couple of wvw guilds would join FSP, then silver league could become very interesting.
Personally I think we have the skills already with the current guilds.
We simply just lack the numbers.
So people, who want a new challenge and who are sick of long queue times, don’t hesitate and join the FSP side.

yeah, I am at the same level as you.
I like to keep my team alive and win big fights.
However at the end the leader tells everbody to pick up their loot bags, and I really need to look for some.
While the others cheer about their big amount of loot bag piles
I was just hoping that Anet can address this in some way, so the team play can synchronize even more, and people are not “forced” to switch to fire to drop some damage on someone, whil not helping out thier team at that moment.
ooh, yes please, we could use more active wvw guilds
they should use the last 5 weeks to calculate the actual standings, on which they base their league placements
Currently GW2, does not have a dedicated roles, like in other MMO’s
So no tank/healer role.
However people intend to fill in this roles in WvW.
Melee classes often are really PVT geared, with a lot of Thougness and Vitality.
Supportive people equip a bite more healing power, and dps/cond classes also focus on enough dps to synchronize with the group synergy.
I play an elementalist within my guild group and I am often attuned to water, when I am running through another big group.
However when I am trying to keep others alive, I am not seeing many loot bags and/or wxp coming my way. I got the feeling that I am missing potentially a big chunk of that.
I would like to request a change in this:
- whenever a supportive role keeps a melee/dps alive, they should receive the same reward (with wxp) as the dps class? Or at least some % of it?
What do you guys think?

Hello, since the latest patch the spirit weapons seems improved.
What would be a decent dungeon build for spirit weapons?
And are there any experiences which can be shared about the RAW power output of these spirit weapons.
I have 2 sets of gear to use. Soldier’s or Knights, maybe the choice is dependant off the traits used in a decent build??

I do agree with you on my mentioned changes, because then can be with risk, but do it only if you know what you are doing (or are desperate because of the lag in wvw)

Hello guys, I just found the following information on the web. It is from a WOW website and it was primarly focussed on Windows machines.
A couple of guys in my guild tested it on their Windows machines and for them it improved, and they suffered less from latency in WvW.
But for our MAC users there is also something we can do.

Leatrix Latency Fix isn’t supported on Macs. However, you can achieve lower latency in OSX by entering the following command in a terminal window. This will disable delayed acknowledgements until you restart your computer.
sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0
To disable them permanently, create a text file under “/etc/” called “sysctl.conf” and copy/paste the following line then restart your computer.
net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0
To set things back to default, just delete the “sysctl.conf” file and restart your computer.
If you’re not familiar with /etc, it’s actually a symbolic link which goes to /private/etc. This is a hidden root folder which isn’t normally visible in the Finder.
To be able to see hidden folders in the Finder, open up a terminal window and type the following:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
Then restart the Finder. To do that, hold down the option key then click and hold on the Finder icon in the dock. When the context menu appears, click Relaunch and the Finder will restart. You should now see all the hidden folders in the Finder, including /etc (either find the Symbolic Link or the actual folder which is inside /private).
When you’re done and you want to hide the hidden folders again, bring up a terminal window and enter the following:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
Then restart the Finder in the same way as before. The hidden folders should now be hidden again.
Hidden folders contain critical system configuration files so be careful that you don’t delete or move anything by mistake while they are visible in the Finder.

did you make any specific settings in the game?
With a blast finisher, in a light field you get retaliation to your party.
With the same blast finisher you can give regenaration to your party, if you activate this finisher in a water field.
A water field seems therefore more logical, for this healing utility.
And it also helps the team a lot more, because if gives the option for a regeneration boon.
Well of Blood now seems nice and heals the necro, and after that it heals in ticks for persons standing in it.
However this just seems to “static”. And by a little tuning of the field of this utility, then this skill would be so much more usefull then it is now.

I really like my Necromancer and the well play style also appeals to me. However I am see myself often bypassing the “Well of Blood” skill.
Currently this skill has a combo field , which is “light”.
However this just does not seem to make sense. Wouldn’t it be more logical if this would be a “water” field.
Necromancer’s are often underestimated by people in dungeons and PVE, because people think they are no killing machines and they are only death weigth.
During my journey in Tyria I am trying to prove the difference. But I think a necro would be more usefull if we could bring a water field into the gameplay.
Therefore I would like to make this suggestion.
Arenanet: please consider changing the combo field for Well of Blood to a water type
nice idea, or like invader armies (npc’s) roaming around

Since the patch at the end of March all the Mac users have birds with graphical aritifacts around them.
Also the FPS on all the Mac’s seem to have decreased suddenly.
But I am wondering if this flickering around flying birds can be solved somehow by the graphics team.

I know this will probably not be that easy to create, but I think a lot of programming work can just be re-used. It is not like the game needs to be rebuild from scratch.
I want Arenanet to consider this client as an opportunity to open up an extra market and to generate more income for themselves. In the end it all comes down to money
But I think there are a lot of Mac users, who aren’t gaming that mich currently, but who are willing to (besides the current Mac beta client users). I personally think this can be like a snowball , which can become bigger when it starts rolling.
(If you compare it with another big gaming company, who have a big MMO title, then I think part of their success is also because they have a native MAC client)

I contacted Support for a native client, because Arenanet hardly looks at the Mac sub forum.
Support suggested me to open a Suggestion, for having a native client.

I want to suggest a native Mac OSX client.
There is an active fan base of players who are using a Mac for their gaming fun.
Arenanet supplied us a GW2 mac client, but this was in fact a wrapper, and therefore the gaming performance is no where near the possibilities the Mac hardware gives us.
On the Mac part of this forum a lot of people are asking for this. However this subsection is not “covered” by Arenanet with their attention.
So I made a support ticket, where I wanted to request this Mac Client.
However support directs me to the “Suggestions” section of this forum.
Therefore I am setting up this thread.
Mac uses OpenGL instead of DirectX and with a native client I truly think OpenGL can give players even a better performance then playing the game through DirectX.
Please give a native Mac Client a shot, because I know a big player group would really enjoy the game more and it will also attract a complete new group of potential players.

I like to play with my friends. But besides events and dungeons there is no real group effort within the game.
The HEARTS can only obtained by individual efforts.
ArenaNet, can this please be changed?
Make the HEARTS scale with group play or something and that every kill counts towards the group effort put in to it.
I hear this a lot around me and people really miss some more attention to play along with 2 /3 or 5 in a group within the GW2 world.

I enjoy playing with my friends, and we are roaming across the GW2 lands.
We encounter Hearts.
However while we are in a group, each of us have to do the hearts on their own.
I would like to suggest something like group efforts, while working on the Heart HUBS.
This way playing together makes sense and we can work as a friend group together on achieving things in the GW2 world.

I want to play with my friends and we are roaming accross the lands, which is really awesome. We stumble upon hearts, which are really nice to do.
However every person in our little friends group (4 a 5 persons) need to do the heart on their own.
I would like to request if playing together could be combined in doing the hearts together as well. This way we can truly play together, instead of just running next to each other.
Please AreneNet can you consider this, so the game is even more awesome when we wplay together with people.
