Basically, if someone flags/reports you for botting a GM may/will try to contact you, if you respond your good to go, if you dont, they can, have and may ban you. Thats the short and dry of it.

And devs have a fix it just wasnt ready for this weeks patch, will be soon hopefully.
The Bug is also effecting my torch…..its a bit painful to use if I’m honest.
Yea according to the dev I spoke with the issue is that for some reason lightning sources are “blooming”. They are fixing the ones that are happening but they havent figured out what is causing them to suddenly bloom like this so it may be patches on holes until they find the cause of the main problem.

Devs have a fix in the works just didnt make this patch hopefully very soon.
Its not hardware related, as i posted in other threads its game engine, also I have spoken to a dev they have a fix it just was not ready for this weeks patch but will hopefully make the next one in 2 weeks.
The problem I have with this is as someone who suffers from extreme sensitivity to bright lights I have to either avoid these areas, or turn down my tvs brightness or suffer migraines from the insane brightness. This can have a real life health impact and needs to be addressed.
If you turn the shaders down to low the brightness disappears. (Options > Graphics > then under Advanced Settings there’s one called Shaders with 3 options, Low, Medium or High.)
It’s not ideal because then the terrain looks ugly, but I assume it’s far better than a migraine. And you can turn it back up again once you leave that area.
Just annoying to do that every time and since its getting worse its just mroe to do, luckily as in my last post it has a fix and will come soon.
Follow up Got a message that this is being fixed and that it just missed this weeks patch so hopefully in 2 weeks when the next push is done.
So got a follow up from the Devs, apparently a fix is in the final phase it just missed this weeks release. So hopefully 2 weeks when the next patch is out it will go.
Sorry… I couldn’t come up with anything else on the subject, but it certainly seems to be a software issue outside the game engine files – otherwise more than 18 players would be reporting it on the forum (which is including me).
Only other suggestion I can offer is to run a spot poll among everyone you know ingame and report the numbers experiencing the bug on this merged thread, so Anet can get an idea just how many are affected.
If you run with this idea just start with the number 18 as above and when you post add however many others you confirmed have the same problem, next poster does the same etc.
Breeze
EDIT: Inculpatus/Penelope – Would one or both of you co-ordinate this? I’m overseas all this month and can’t be online regularly enough to do it myself.
I have asked people on maps and have dozens report the same glaring issue, so yes its an in game engine issue. For every 1 forums poster reporting a bug their usually a dozen more experiencing it but never bother to visit the forums. Only 5% of the GW2 pop probably visits here. Please don’t try to diminish people who have gotten reports similar to this.
And in case you missed it, I have confirmed this with a Dev.
(edited by Taegos.4132)
Someone in another thread (in GD) claims to have spoken to a Dev about this issue, and that ‘the Devs are aware’ now.
Anytime several threads and/or posts come up about an issue on the forums, I suspect it is more widespread than just a few isolated players experiencing it.
Regardless of the amount of posts, it’s been happening for many months, and seems to be spreading more and more.
I hope, as indicated above, the Devs will investigate.
That was me and yes I have a PM from on simply stating “We are aware of the reports.”
That was it so hope?
How much space if left on your SSD?
Eh? The cause is simple enough – they kittened up the lighting on that map square and probably need to bake it again. If you look at the house and where it’s fine vs bright as all kitten, you will notice that the brightness is a perfect square (zero rotation compared to overhead map). It’s being lit by a single lightpoint probably at the eastern edge at waterlevel, rather than just the global map lighting. It’s probably adding it’s value to the global map light, that’s why there are no shadows. That’s also why the walls looking east is comparably fine.
The problem is that this lighting issue is showing up in multiple maps, most often in caves (ie. the caves near Vale WP in Queensdale, the spider cave in Diessa Plateau, another cave area in Fireheart Rise, etc.). So, it doesn’t seem like it’s just this one sector of this one map that needs to be fixed, which means it’ll take more time to figure out the problems and solve them.
And that with every patch they do it seems a new area gets corrupted. I have seen 4 new spots that were ok get corrupted over the past few patch cycles.
Its not Card related, this is a game engine failing, And just as a heads up I got in contact with a dev, they are now aware of this issue. Now to see if it gets fixed.
This isnt a hardware issue its clearly a game file being broken, it just seems like its a issue with their in game engine just slowly deteriorating and gets worse every time they patch the game.

We keep reporting it and its been like this for a month+ and getting worse, ANet seems to be ignoring this
This is big for me btw because i suffer from extreme sensitivity to bright lights and when playing near these its hurtful on my eyes…
(edited by Taegos.4132)
I think the problem is that this is getting worse every patch and ANet is ignoring it each month.
We’ve been reporting this for months and with each patch more areas get corrupted but it seems like ANet is ignoring this now. Which is sad because this can be migraine inducing for folks as it is so bright. But we have had 0 response and more areas affected by this.
Great, I got all the feedback from GW1 vetrans, sad thing is that GW2 only players probably doesnt even know what Hall of Monuments is and wont bother with this post.
Well… Whatever. You asked for feedback. I’m sorry you don’t like that others disagree with your point of view. The summary has been:
- It’s currently possible to get the rewards via the same methods everyone else has used.
- The game makes it possible to solo and a large fraction of players did so even before GW2 was announced, so it’s a moot point how many people are playing. Still, there are a substantial number around 24/7.
- ANet offered the rewards specifically as a way to honor GW1 veterans.
I can understand that you want the skins. What I don’t understand is why you don’t want to play GW1 to get them, like everyone else has done.
Same reason I dont want to play DOOM 3, its another game.
Thats your choice, just because you dont feel like playing another game means those that did and worked hard for years should be robbed???? Come on man, again, this is you just not wanting to do work for reward.

All feedback is welcome, but when you ask for feedback you want it from variuos types of players and when the feedback is from GW1 vetrans only, its getting generic and predictable. I would like to know what GW2 only players also think.
And like I siaed, i think that 4 years early access and freebies is enough honor. they can make GW2 only players work hard for what you got for free, why do care so much?
Did you even read our feedback, you literally just ignored all the posts above and repeated your self…..
We care so much because we have put in months and months, even years of work. Please, just stop now, its only gonna go downhill form here.
It’s not even that “hard” any more, just a time sink, once you figure out the game its actually pretty fun, even if its a decade old I still enjoy playing through it. Especially with the mesmer buffs XD
You can always go to the Players Helping Players forum ans ask for help in GW1
i have seen several posts where multiple people where always willing to give a lot of helpful advice or offer their help directly ingame
Many others offered to give away minipets and other stuff to help people with their HoMsjust ask nicely and be willing to invest a bit into GW1 and you can easily reach 30 HoM points (without tons of grinding or massive gw1 knowledge needed)
This so much. I came into GW1 blind just a month before GW2, spent a few hours on the forums played the game for a bit and was soon plowing through content. The power creep and heros make most of the game feel like a deep single player game. Only a few things require other people. And those are only really needed if your going for GWAMM.
PLZ Consider making Hall of Monuments assets available by other means
Hall of Monuments in GW2 is inaccessible for most current GW2 community and it’s a shame as lots of GW2 assets are locked behind a wall which is no longer relevant.
Giving veterans GW1 players an extra bonus and motivation was a great idea 4 years ago but now it feels an obsolete system, the chance that non GW1 players will pick up the game and invest tons of hours for the skins is very low, probably close to 0. I think that giving the veterans GW1 players free and 4 years early access on the skins is enough of a bonus.
Plz consider giving access to Hall of Monuments in GW2 by other means that doesn’t include GW1, it can be the gem store, game content, a collection achievement, all options are fine.
What do you think?
Go buy GW1 and earn them? Sorry but I came into GW1 late and I’m well on my way to getting alot of the items, I know alot of others who did the same, the amount of backlash ANet would get after the amount of work we put into getting them, lol….lol.
I personally am going for my GWAMM and fellblade and if they suddenly just handed them out after the months and months of grinding I have done, yea I’d be kittened.
And your statement that its a concrete inaccessible wall….nope, you can buy the game still and still earn them, so your wrong, its accessible plain as day, you just don’t want to do the work.

Could we get the scarlet spaulders and grasps again, I would love a chance at those, wasn’t here when the events took place.

I would look more at the level 3 hops, they are known for having problems, I have had to personally contact them on twitter and they have found problems with their local hops. It seems like the level 3 hops are quite fragile.
Have you checked to see if your stick keys are enabled? I’ve never seen or heard of this and this kind of bug is more related to your OS then the game, since the game is not whats seeing what keys are being pressed, your I/O in the main OS is simply sending that to the game.
That and you may need to clean your keyboard, check to see if you have macros if you have a programmable keyboard/mouse and also try using a different USB port, I know mine has an issue with 1 of my ports that causes something weird when its used for my mouse, sometimes they simply go bad.
(edited by Taegos.4132)
Adding some more examples, this is the cave with a HP in northern Dissea Platuae, again completely broken whitewashed lighting that can cause migraines.
As you can see in chat, again it is not a PC issue, someone else is seeing the exact same thing.
Adding kitten of chat showing that its not just me, others are seeing it also. This is become more frequent as other zones are getting them also, it appears as though the lighting in zones is slowly corrupting.
What is causing this, I have seen it in caves around zones also, it seems to cause areas to have extreme lightning whitewash, I have checked my drivers, repaired the Games archive and even swapped video cards just to test, this can be headache/migraine inducing simply because of how amazingly bright these get.
And yes its just as bright inside which is so painful to be in.
You’d have to appeal it, if it wasnt botting then it was a mistake and they can work with you, the forums wont be able to help on that.
That being said they made it so the auto looting feature wont reset the afk timer so in order to afk farm, you have to have some sort of input in order to not tim eout of the game.
It is usable everywhere with exception of raids and the aerodrome golem.
Cant be used on combat.
30 Minutes cooldown currently.
I did not test, but you probaly cant use on WvW since you cant use any bundles on WvW
BTW no one brings mesmer only because of portal….. (anymore)
And again, people do infact grab mesmers for portals in learning runs/speed clears, and most importantly HoT HP runs.
So yes, people do still grab mesmers for portals. Just had someone ask in chat last week for mesmers for a HoT run because the newer folks didn’t have gliding. Just because your select group doesn’t see the need doesn’t mean “no one” takes mesmers any more for portals.
Mesmers around the world disagree with you…
No.
Chrono is my main, people dont bring chrono for portal anymore, people bring chronos for perma quickness and alacrity, portal is just a bonus.
and with 10 minutes CD on portal, if you >NEED< a portal, you will still take a Chrono.
I know plenty of folks who grab mesmers for learning runs/speed clears, use them on metas and in particular HoT HP runs. They grab them for the portals in case new folks dont have gliding skills and or cant perform jumps needed. So again no, a toy available to everyone should not be any where near the same potency to that of a classes own unique skill.

I’m having flash backs to the RNG chests in blade and soul now, please dont go the same way NCSoft did and ruin it.
Are you East Coast? It seems level 3 in Dallas is having issues at the moment I am able to connect but theres some really bad packet loss there.
Doing this for world 1 also

(edited by Taegos.4132)
Its not a contradiction. They simply want everyone’s skills to be in the same place. They talked about that a while back when people asked about mods. They didn’t want to allow people to mess with the UI elements.
And the utility slots have to flex. You have more skills then slots so that’s a poor comparison to argue with
(edited by Taegos.4132)
The reason why they have disabled alot of the UI configuration like which is common in alot of MMO’s is that they want every one to have the same system, so no on can gain an “unfair” advantage. While moving skills around may seem like a simple thing, you can keybind them how you want and achieve the same results. Also with the rare exception of like maybe 2-3 skills they are placed in order of cooldown, shortest being #1 with longest being #5
What’s funny is I can get a group made and halfway done by the time one of those zerker only pewpew km groups are even filled.
This has been a problem in almost every MMO, and even some RTS type games, not a whole lot can fix it simply due to the nature of games now having so many effects. Best thing I can suggest is to go into your mouse settings and under pointer options enable the mouse finder toggle and tab ctrl when you need to find your pointer.
Shouldn’t have to use weird tricks like that just to see a target.
Targeting is so party members can all attack the same target so they didn’t think it was needed for a solo player. Not saying soloers don’t need to be able to highlight the target in some way but that was probably their reasoning.
Until or unless they change it up, you have to work with the tools they give you.
Which is the reason for this suggestion thread…. the current system is inadequate.
Shouldn’t have to use weird tricks like that just to see a target.
Ever tried using “Call Target”? It places a rather nicely visible crosshair over the targeted mob.
Doesn’t work when your not in a party. Now if they made it so you could do it while not in a party that would help but even still its hard to see that sometimes when you have this much crap flying all over your screen.
(edited by Taegos.4132)
Somewhere in this image there’s a boss npc.
But thanks to the number of players combined with the enormous amount of spell effects it is near impossible at time to keep track of where it is. We need to have some sort of system that sort of highlights a targeted enemy’s outline/silhouette and have it on the top visual layer so it is easier to track a single target when you have 50+ players going at things. For ranged players this is not as big of a problem, but melee can sometimes be left behind if the enemy moves and we have to recenter onhim.
Image 1 is of the hidden boss in player spam.
Images 2 and 3 are of examples of enemy highlighting in other games. They are not the best but it’s the point I’m after.
This is exactly the point of conditions kill tanks, working as intended. You want them to make it so that you can never die to conditions? whats the point of that?
Problem is that while they are good for tank killing they are even more powerful against everything else. That’s where the imbalance is popping up.
