Origin of the Giant Charr?

Most Fractals aren’t an alternate reality, they’re based on what has actually happened in Tyria.

The Molten Berserker and Firestorm was a Flame Legion Magic cross Dredge technology accident which resulted in what we see today. They were trying to create powerful weaponry, at the cost/risk of life it seems.

The original living story dungeon (which was butchered to then give two fractals, The Molten Facility and The Molten Duo Boss.) can be read about here.

(The original boss fight was far harder than the fractal bosses.)

Thanks! That answered it perfectly.
I really hope they bring living world 1 back so we can get more details this, plus all the other little bits that we’ve probably missed.

Origin of the Giant Charr?

Namely the Molten Berserker.
Let’s talk about this guy. He is a Charr that has to be close to 20 feet tall!

I’m curious about how the Flame legion/Molten Alliance got a Charr to grow that big. Now, if I’m missing something really obvious that was mentioned in Living World or the Fractal then apologies.

Other wise, what’s your theory?
Have they been feeding him protein shakes and sending him to Terry Crews for a daily workout since birth!? Maybe he ate his freaking’ Warband.

Or do the Charr just get that big sometimes? Every one in a million perhaps. If that’s the case, can there be more?

And, Anet, please give us a 20 foot tall Charr NPC that’s on our side and surprisingly friendly.

I may or may not be internally screaming with excitement. That would be fantastic! But at the same time, I realize that they have their own story, and some of it is based on a player’s unique actions and choices within the game.

Speaking of which, I think I feel some inspiration returning. Good idea, though. Perhaps a tangent of this- incorporating a player’s original character story into the game experience (within reason) would be an intriguing plan!

I’ve seen things like it in the past, people write out their characters adventures as though it’s a diary. They can be cool sometimes.

But really I’d just like to see somethings in the gw universe expanded on.

I’d love to see this happen as part of Arenanet’s partner program.
If Anet allowed writers to try to add to the list of Guild Wars publications, It’d mean more for us to read and a chance to write a cannon story for the fantasy world.

What’s not to love.

^ Didn’t think about those guys. They’re basically Guild Wars 1’s Destiny’s Edge.

If it followed those guys I’d hope we see some of Eve the necromancer. Who, despite being on all the Prophesies cover art, we barley see.

Who knows, maybe they could drop a Pyre Feirceshot cameo to foreshadow the Eye of the North sequel too!

Hope you’re writing this down Anet!

We’ve seen the Wow trailer and can pretty much tell where they’re going with that.

But if Guild Wars had a movie, what do we reckon it would be based on? And what would you want to see the most?

Would it be during The Searing? Set between the games? Based on one of the Novels maybe? Or skip to GW2 timeline?

So long as it involved realistic looking Charr I’m happy.

(Hint hint Anet, movie in 2020! You can do it!)

Zhaitan's Corpse?

Dunno if this has already been mentioned and there are way too many walls of text for me to bother checking. XD

Kind of in support of the theory that Mordremoth wants Zhaitan’s dead body for nefarious purposes.

After being told everything we’ve been told and seeing everything we’ve seen we’ve made a few assumptions.

We assume Mordremoth has a big dragony form because we’ve seen a dragony mouth, a foot, an almost-wing and his handsom big face.

We also assume everything we’ve seen of him thus far is in the Jungle.

Let’s start assuming otherwise.

Zhaitan’s design showed us that Anet can break the typical dragon design. He wasn’t so much a dragon but a flying fortress of recycled horrors rotting into eachother to form a creature that could make Cthulhu blush.

Taking another look at the release trailer where we get a good look at Mordremoth, the dragon himself.

I think he’s formless. He IS this world, so he says.
A massless being manipulating every thing from the blades of grass under your feet to an entire Race you thought were your friends. Not a physical dragon, he’s just a mind (with an unlimited supply of plant matter. Uh oh!).

A thought-dragon that invaded the minds of his Sylvari and drove them mad.

Avatar (the one with the blue people) would have been alot more interesting if this guy showed up >.>

So!

The opening mouth we see, taking his first breath of magic after Scarlet became the worlds craziest alarm clock, is simply that, just the mouth. We don’t see what it’s attached to, nor do we see what that giant foot is attached to in the trailer. Same goes for his almost-wing.

And when he comes face to face with Rytlock, we don’t see a head and a body, we see a twisting mass of vines being sculpted into a face like thing. All the nearby plant life simply slithers it’s way to his puppeteering stage.

Simply because he needed us to see him Smile.

What big teeth you theoretically have, Mr Mordremoth.

Now if the thought-dragon theory is true, assume that he’s actually not getting himself together in that scene as his “Final Form!” And he actually has just done that to break the ice with us. Whatever his “form” is, it’s already out there in it’s final state and this smiling face is just a way to say hi to Rytlock.

And if that’s true then you know this is gonna be one of those super hard bosses that takes us hours, only to find out that the bad guy can pull that one out his butt for a party trick.

And now to my point. At the very beginning of the trailer, just before we see a humanoid worrior being formed out of vines, we see larger vines twisting around something….

Is that a giant rib cage?

We don’t know what Orr looks like these days (though theres probably a Starbucks) but we do know it’s been “cleansed”.

Cleansing sounds a little sinister in hind sight, huh!? Quotation marks can’t help either.

Mordremoth is smart, if we’re Sherlock, he’s Moriarty. He had the foreknowledge to raise an entire Race of seemingly the most trustworthy creatures to work their way into our society and strike from within. Ultimate sleeper agents.

Even though Scarlet woke him up early he’s still kicking our butts…. Or maybe he woke up right on time.

When I say he is smart, that also means I think he has a complex personality, he wants something. What would a mind like his want? A mind with no physical form and yet the owner of a billion creatures that have what he can’t.

He want’s a body.

I like to imagine Mordremoth as a bitter old man, ancient in fact. He had a bad temper when he was just a kid, only a few hundred years old! A temper made worse because he always lacked something the other dragons had and they just rubbed that right in his face (if he had one. HA!).

He had to sit there with nothing but sunlight to satisfy him, jealously watching as the others as they feasted, fought, flew and ffffffff- went to social gatherings.
Now he can do something about that and he’s got millennias worth of rage to take out… On us. Figures.
That sounds like an antagonist I almost want to see win.

Some of the Sylvari had a built in need to kill Zhaitan or clense Orr. They were born knowing their purpose. Because that purpose isn’t their own.

And now Mordremoth happens to rise right when there’s a fresh dragon corpse laying around, not just any dragon, an elder dragon.

Fit for Mordremoth to inhabit and finally take his physical place as king of the hill, not through the eyes of his minions or the faux bodies he twists into shape from vines. His first had experience. Picture seeing colour for the first time in your life and you’re thousands of years old, now up the magnitude a few hundred percent. He won’t wanna let go of that any time soon.

Buckle up folks, I’ve got a feeling that this dragon won’t go down as easy.

I’ve seen this posted already. But being able to summon the hero from 250 years ago (You in GW1) would be epic.

We don’t know exactly how this new class works, but I’m going to assume that there can be set skills for every combination of Professions from GW1.

So although it would say I’m summoning “Takireo WhateverIcalledmyself”. It would summon Generic Ranger/Necro or whatever I changed it too XP.

Why has no one mentioned forgal or even tybalt yet??

I’ve seen Tybalt mentioned quite frequently in this forum actually. Personally I loved Tybalt, but didn’t see him as “legendary” but I’m sure a lot of people will disagree with me there.

Yup, sorry I have to disagree.
Tybalt was a legend the moment he mentioned his “lovely….. apples.”

I wonder if there will be a collector’s edition for Hear of Thorns. It was Done for Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and 2

I’d imagine so.

And since Anet has a bit more dosh to throw around we could see something like the
Chinese release. With a Choice of statues, not just Rytlock.

Although the idea of having a Revenant Rytlock next to my Warrior Rytlock is kinda cool….

Tengu class (possible)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Takireo.8329

I tend to think more a warrior monk when i think Tengu.

But in my mind that’d just be a Guardian/theif with a quarterstaff.

Rather than the Tengu bringing in a new class altogether, because I certainly can’t think of one that isn’t too similar to the existing roles, how about Heart of Thorns expands on the existing ones.

E.G. Level 80 thief comes across a Tengu trainer, ‘grats you’re now an assassin, go play with your new pretty dagger skills.

Or the queen lady decides your 80 warrior has killed so many rabbits in tyria that you’ve earned a knighthood.

Something like that, only not… Ridiculous.

Or the lack of!

As a fan of both games, (but mostly Guild Wars!) I’d love to see something done with the two. Some kind of crossover story or artwork but after taking a peek about the net I find next to nothing out there!

Am I just hainus for wanting this!? Or have I missed something obvious. :p

More specifically, on the GooglePlay Store.

Right now, searching for the Guild Wars books on Google Play in the UK will come up with all 3 in another language.

But!

I can find the first 2 for sale with a little Googling in English and on the Play store but it will say “Not available in this country”.

I’m a student living in halls so physical books will just end up being clutter I don’t have space for.

Will we see these 3 hit the English Play store some time soon?

If so, yay.
