My favourite was GvG, that is what i call competetive PvP.
For GW2 i wish for something like HA. Imagine you can earn nice PvE bonus (extra magic find etc.) for your server by winning HA, that would be so cool….

I really enjoyed reading this thread and I got to agree with your statements (except for the guy talking about graphics and animations, sigh).
Sadly, most people in this thread seem to have a better idea on GW1/GW2 and more passion for these games than the actual developer.

1. How many Devs are actually playing GW2 sPvP?

2. Are there going to be new skills and traits in the new add-on and how are these going to be balanced for sPvP.

3. Why are there no rewards for playing sPvP? That is why 99% of the community does not bother to play sPvP at all.

I really would like to know if the devs play GW2 PvP.

Most german players can’t play GW2 anymore due to the crazy lag issue.

Huge lack in PvP, no way to play it.

Happens all the time. It is realy frustrating for both teams.

Anet, why do you not sepreate skills to PvE and PvP version. That is the only way to get close to a decent balance in PvP and the PvE players can still be happy-

I do not think that this is an exploit. It is just lame. I hope Anet will just remove the mesmer portal from the game.

The buff is easily abused with certain skill combinations.

Hi, I konw that most players will not care about this but there is a serious lag issue with the map “Battle of Kyhlo”. A lot of players have really mad fps drops when they play on that map.

I feel the same way. I spend a lot of time playing GW1 PvP and I used to be hyped for GW2. But then I realized that GW2 is just for casual players. Anet made a lot of promises and even used the word “esport” which is the reason why so many players (including myself) are so disappointed now. The majority of the real PvP players already left the game and I also think that sPvP has less competition than GW1 PvP which shows how bad sPvP is designed.
You want Anet to work on sPvP now. But why should they? They got your money. You have to realize that the PvP community is <1% of the whole GW2 playerbase. (When they game was released…)

Same problem here in Germany.

Long time ago I believed in anet making a nice PvP game. But now………..

As the title says the game is randomly crashing during sPvP matches. I hope this gets fixed before the paid tournaments go online.

The “you can not cap while being stealth” mechanic is the best idea in GW2 PvP.

No, people love to farm “glory” in hot-join. That is why there is no real PvP in GW2.

I do not understand why he said " Less QQ, more pew pew". Is this some kind of a bad joke?
They promised good PvP but what did we get? Zergfest hot-join glory farm and “stomp the random team”-tournaments.
The game is released since 6 weeks and there were no development in sPvP since beta weekend 2. Arenanet, please be honest, did you expect that PvP players will be satisfied with that poor designed sPvP?
There were(!) so many players and guilds who would like to compete in a decent PvP format but there is just no way to play any good team with your current system.
And now you make a blog post about upcomming features which you already promised months ago. This is how you insulted the PvP community, or at least what is left from that.

Ok, so GW2 sPvP is still in the same state than in BWE2. What does this tell us? Anet does not care about the sPvP-Players. But they do not have to anyway because the huge majority of players already quit.
I used to have high hopes and faith in this game. Anet promised good PvP and gave us 8on8 zergfest and random “tournaments”.

There are so many players having problems with this. I can not believe that anet is not fixing it.

Rank only tells how much you played this game, not how good you are. Playing zergfest hot join PvP gives you more rank points than winning tournaments.

I do not agree with all of your points but the headline is true. The PvP community is disappointed, many people already stopped playing.

Time is running out. A lot of PvP-players already stopped playing because there is no rating or real tournaments.

We call this “random lag”. During prime people get lags for no reason. Sometimes I can play a full evening without any delays and the next day i have terrible lags, which force me to log off. That is why it is not fun to play tournaments because there is always somebody on your team who can not play lagfree.

Nice, the PvP-Devs are still alive.

The Heartseeker build ist way too easy to play for its damage output. It is also boring to see so many of them =)
I think Mesmer is ok since they seem to die fast against AoE damage.

In addition to that you do not get the points for the achivemetns.

I feel like arena.net stopped at 90% of making a really good PvP-Game. The things mentioned in this thread really needs to be added soon before the hardcore PvP-Players stop plaiyng this game.

After playing more tournaments we see more players abusing that bug.

We found a really big bug on the map Battle of Kyhlo which gives a huge advantage to the players using it.
During the time before the countdown starts you have to spam jump in front of the wall of your base (whre you start). When the 10 second counter start you useally spawn in your base but with this bug you spawn outside! So you can cap points while others have to wait.

I know a lot of PvP-players and everybody does have this bug. The PvP statistics are also missing.
