I too am in the same boat. I’ve completed all of the S2 achievements, have completed all S2 chapters on all level 80 characters, and even completed from start to finish, the S2 chapters on my last level 80 in the last month or two…well after the season had concluded. I didn’t receive either of the amulets in-game at the end of the chapters, nor are they available at PvE merchants in several of the cities.
I personally liked the tablet the way it was during beta. I think by removing the ability to move it around, there might need to be an overhaul of several traits and we could end up on missing out on some great support functionality by no longer being able to manually position the tablet.
By being able to manually position the tablet, Revenants can provide support to other party members during encounters, even when they are not physically there with them as well as being able to strategically position it (i.e. Protective Solace with Harpies in Uncategorized).
Traits that would be the most affected by it just following us around rather than the manual positioning would be Blinding Truths (great control for mobs, particularly clustered groups and no CD), Natural Abundance, Fierce Infusion, Invigorating Flow, and Bolster Fortifications.
Remember that each time the tablet is moved through use of Ventari’s Will, it counts as a healing skill with only a 2 sec CD. Moving it across yourself/party and the mobs you’re fighting can trigger those various traits. For me, it was a pretty compelling reason to use it in PvE this weekend.
Obviously in PvP or WvW it may not be as handy, but we all know that not all weapon sets, stats, utilities, and traits work equally well across all game modes.
I love Lord Faren once again gracing us with his presence and also that he is still sporting his “fancy panties” (ala Scarlet’s dialog in LS1).
I would though like to see just a little more thematic progression for him. Leopard print (or some other animal) would be much more appropriate in this environment.
I’ve been playing a Revenant this weekend with 2 melee sets (staff, sword/axe) and really enjoying it. The only quirk that I’ve found that I’d like to see changed, would be with the hard reset to 50% energy that occurs immediately when OOC. The hard reset makes energy management for some of the higher energy utilities a little more difficult when trying to get to the next mob to engage it. The 2 suggestions I would have to remedy this would be: 1) make the reset happen a few seconds (maybe 3-5 secs) after being OOC or 2) have the reset be a gradual energy loss back to 50% similar to Warriors’ adrenaline.
I too have some concerns about vote-kicks with raids. There have already been plenty of issues noted on the forums arising from kicking party members at last bosses. These kicks were incentivized because of either money to be made by offering the possibility for obtaining exclusive skins or by offering those removed slots to friends.
With raids, that incentive to kick may even be greater because raids may be the only means to obtaining the things necessary to creating legendary armor. With a whole new “tier” of armor at stake, that temptation to kick may be even greater.
We obviously don’t have enough information as yet, but hopefully Arena Net is examining the current vote-kick system to minimize potential abuses.
Regarding the changes made in 4b, it appears to be limited to a change in language from NCSoft to ArenaNet. The clause as a whole was already there and a language change like that would seem to bring decision making to a local level.
[beta] How does mastery progression feel?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Tattered Revenant.1268
Tier 4 of the glider mastery is 2,413,000 XP. Based on the pattern I’m seeing, to get to tier 5 would be around 5,000,000 XP and to get the final tier would be around 10,000,000 XP. For comparison, you need 4,860,359 XP total to get to level 80.
Also don’t forget that we need a total of 20 mastery points to max out that particular mastery. The fractal mastery currently requires 32 mastery points and has more tiers. All told with the masteries listed, that’s 152 mastery points for maxing all, as well as the XP just to unlock a tier.
At this point, we don’t know exactly how many mastery points we will get for different accomplishments or how many additional masteries will be added. While I understand this is our “end game” progression, I don’t think any of us want this to end up as grindy as some of the WvW achievements (looking at you Yakslapper).
I personally am not in favor of the whole Masteries Unlock system. I would like to see it more like the abilities for WvW where once you have earned the point you can use it. If you don’t have enough points to progress to the next level of a given track, then you wait until you have enough or you use them for a different track.
The unlock seems like a different form of time-gating that doesn’t really serve a specific purpose other than to slow down the allocation of accumulated mastery points. If we’ve already earned them, then please let us use them. The earning of XP should simply be a means to earning new points rather than a barrier to using those we already have.
Hi everyone. We were told about the upcoming changes regarding the changes to skill points and the changes from an experience bar to a mastery bar in PvE for those at level 80.
We currently have consumables for WvW and PvP to boost progression on those bars and we have had experience boosters, as well as other consumables which boost xp gain in PvE.
With the change to the PvE mastery bar, have we heard what will happen with those boosts? Will they now only apply to those characters that are under level 80 or will they also work for the mastery bar at 80?
Additionally, have we heard if those changes to the wallet and skill points are going to happen with the June 23 patch?
I’m sorry if I missed either a forum post or something on one of the webcasts that already answered this question.
