As much as I loathe and despise Turbine, they were pretty spot on with their Turbine Points to be used in their store and there is zero gold seller exploitation unlike in GW2.
Turbine gave players two options to earn stuff in their store:
1.) Paying cash either by a flat out fee like ANet already has or by a VIP status that is sub based but you have numerous benefits to include a monthy cash shop allowance 2.) Earn points through favor which ANet can transcribe to achievements.
This will obliterate gold sellers I think or at least curve it substantially as really why would one want to spend money on at a place that has atrocious rates? Turbine allowed for players to earn points, however it is long and grindy which is why people still buy Turbine Points.
While I never support gold buying but if I do decide to put money down on some serious gem banking I will go to gold sellers for gold to buy my gems and not the gem store to buy some at a much higher marked up price. Not saying I do it now nor have I ever bought gold.
Players will go the cheaper route, hell many or at least a very significant playerbase play GW2 because it’s B2P and it’s a good-decent MMO to em that keeps em as entertained as a P2P MMO. Allowing gold sellers to continue is only hurting ANets pocket as one cannot ever get rid of gold sellers, they will always be there no matter what just like one cannot get rid of crime in society.
I concur. Doing some DEs in Orr and Jade Quarry just sucks the fun out of the game and goes against ANet’s philosophy about skill. I’m just getting a zerg fest environment that one really cant play as the particle effects saturates the ground so much you can’t see your target or that you can see your mouse at all in order to use AoE abilities like grenades or the Warr’s hammer adrenaline ability.
Is there or will ANet make a statement on this issue? This is a rather serious issues as some who gripe against the game mention DEs being zerg fest. I never encounter it till now but I don’t like how DEs end up in highly saturated areas where one can’t even see or tell whats going on in a fight.
That’s part of the challenge, not all Vistas are rainbows and sunshine. I think I died twice on it thanks to Charr camera angles.
But the fall should not be instant death and with the price tag added to a self rez makes itkitten I can understand the difficulty of the jumps, that’s fine and not my issue, but my problem is how it’s an instant death and repeated self rezzes are not cheap when added up. Either make a waypoint in the cavern for free rezzes or have NPCs pating around the bottom and rez players so players don’t need to spend 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s for a vista.
For kitttens sakes… get NPCs down at the bottom to rez people in Lightfoot Passage’s vista that’s east/ESish of Fort Trinity. A slight mistep and instant death does not make this any challenging or fun and is just plain a pita. People would be shelling out 20s or more to get that vista on WP rezes alone. It also doesn’t help that the vertical mechanics are pretty bad as in your sliding at angles that you shouldn’t be sliding off of as most deaths are from sliding off the branch when it should be a safe spot.
No… that is how you counter it plain n simple… anyways thats what balanced stance/utility skills are for.
As far as the twitter debate goes… Myntal.2596 I would quote you but for some reason some dipkitten decided it would be great to take out quote buttons. I swear this is why I hate technology as people want to always change things up. If it ain’t broke… don’t kitten with it. Anyways… Twitter is a complete disorganized mess, there is zero organization or structure there. Relying on Twitter is pure laziness as they don’t post here in the respected forum thread.
I hate twitter, I loathe facebook, I despise blogs and never visit those sites (ANets blogs when the game was in development were exceptions like the combat blog). Official forums are the places that one should have to go to for news not some 3rd party communication site. Wonder if anyone has started a petition for ANet to stop relying on these sites as it’skitten Go here looking for an answer and never get the answer but then find out I have to go to a twitter site is utterlykitten
Edit… never mind bout the quote button rant… for some reason all of a sudden now the icon is there when moments ago it wasn’t.
The rare components for like sigils and runes like destroyer silvers, pile of soiled essences, onyx silvers, molten silvers ect ect. Trying to figure how these materials are obtained. I’ve looted a molten silver only once which I forget where and I am an avid crafter. If anything trying to understand what are these supposive rare crafting material that you can salvage? I should have come across a handful by now and not an extreme rare case.
Can anyone explain to me or verify that it’s a bug but my concern is salvaging rare materials. I went through an entire masterwork salvage kit (20% for rare materials) of fine and masterwork items (equipment) and never received a single rare material component. I also has a 38% magic find from a nourishment buff and from my gear.
Is this bugged out or does rare crafting material only apply to item drops that are only to be salvaged like Pile of Metal Scrap or something?
Been trying to figure out an explaination on obtaining rare crafting materials and am finding nothing either on the net, the wiki, my guild, and in general chat.
