Guild Wars 2

This was a problem quite a long time ago, for those with dual-core CPUs, but mine is a quad. Not to mention, when I look this problem up, the greying out of this option was apparently unintended. I can’t find any more information on this, however this change happened after a fiasco I had with my Nvidia driver – the new driver update screws up a lot of things so I had to roll it back to my previous one, however I had this option available on the previous driver as well. I can’t find any reason why this would be happening. I could play with this option checked just fine for a long time.

Anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

My specs: Asus ROG G75vw
Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M
16GB of RAM
Intel Core i7-3610QM @ 2.30GHz 2.29GHz
Windows 7 64-bit

I’m running the 64-bit client.

UPDATE: Turns out something was off with my computer, however no matter what I did – stress tests, driver reinstallations, etc etc, nothing fixed it. I threw in the towel and just formatted and did a fresh windows install, now I have everything working as it should again. Please ignore this now.

I also sent in a bug report, but I was hoping to see if others had this issue or if I’m misunderstanding a mechanic. I have money sitting in the trading post that I can’t take out, after using the lv80 boost on a newly made warrior. I can hit “take all” but nothing happens. I’ve tried multiple other characters that could withdraw before I used the boost but now none of them can. I hope this is resolved soon. ; u ;

EDIT: OH nevermind, it was a glitch, and was showing that I had money that wasn’t actually there. o__o

Interested Activities or specific things you want help with: I am in desperate need of a regular group of people to be friends with and do raids, achievements, dungeons, fractals, PvE stuff with. I’m lacking in ascended gear and I want to start trying for a legendary, but I have nobody to do these with right now.
Active: It varies. I play in huge bursts, so it would probably be good to have me on skype too, to let me know when things are happening that I could join.
Additional Comments: I’m a FtM transperson, please be okay with this – this is relevant because I need to skype call/TS3 as I can’t type and combat at the same time, and my voice doesn’t match my pronouns. I have weird anxiety issues as well, so pugging is out of my ability, hence why I’m here asking for a regular group. Tbh I’m already taking a leap doing just this, but this thread looks welcoming enough. I’m on the skittish side, and I’m sorry for any mistakes I may make ingame, if I come along. I try really hard at least, heh.

If you’ll have me again, yes. Though I hope there’s no rep requirement as I’m in a guild that has a 51% requirement, however not many people are on lately.
Are you happy for people to contact you directly (whisper/PM) Y/N: Yes, just know if whispering – I get tunnel vision, sometimes I don’t realize stuff has been said until I get a chance to glance. Dx I’m sorry.

If I might add some things – I’m worried if I join a guild with a TS, there may be some issues with my voice vs my pronouns, as I mentioned before. I’m very cautious about this area of things, as I’ve experienced a lot of unpleasant problems before because of it ( really personal and disrespectful questions and statements about my sex life, “how” I can be a certain way, if I’ve done this or that thing, had this or that surgery, or just plain refusing to respect how I want to be addressed ) and these are all extremely stressful, so if in any instance these start to happen, I’ll have no choice but to leave, so I really really hope this is taken into consideration of someone invites me into their guild/group. x_x;
Otherwise, I really enjoy getting on TS and doing lots of things, and I would hate for it to be ruined by that stuff.
A thing to note – Mistakes are fine, of course people will make mistakes, but it’s easy to tell mistake from deliberate disrespect. Dx

I’m a bit nervous since I’m usually not very social, but I’m pretty bored of playing by myself. I have alts I want to level, but I want to do so with some company, maybe even run dungeons or shoot for a legendary sometime. I want to be in a close-knit guild, with people who are accepting of all sorts ( I belong to the LGBTQ area of life, so any homophobia or conflict in that area is something I want to avoid, and I don’t want to hide who I am at all times - that’s a lot of work ). I also am not necessarily a hardcore player, since I have to take time off sometimes in order to work - I draw commissions for a living, so I have to be absent for days or weeks at a time here and there - so a casual atmosphere is nice. I don’t like to PvP, but I’d like to zerg around in wvwvw occasionally. Really I’m up to do anything if you’re patient with me, since I don’t have the best computer, so sometimes I can’t keep up with the "elite" bunch. If all of that sounds like your guild, I’d love to be part of it, so please allow me to join. ^^

I’m having the same problem, just adding to the amount of people this is effecting.

Attached those logs. I would also love it if someone would give an explanation as to HOW to do some of these things, as I am not a network technician nor did I study IT. Google searches turn up results on this stuff that either ask me to download crap or they don’t really give actual directions. I would think if my patching was fine in December that it would be fine now. But apparently that’s changed?
I’m a little ticked.
For example, where do you go to do this whole “TCP ports 80, 443, 6112 and port 6600” business, what do you do to change the ISP DNS, what do I go to to open router ports, and what in the world is a router SPI feature?
I’m sorry if this may make me look stupid of any kind, but I’m pretty sure a lot of us aren’t educated in networking and IT, so it would be great if anyone, particularly Anet support, could tell us these things, maybe give guides since it is in fact their product that has all these issues.
Being that this issue has been going on, I take it, more than two months, Anet could have said something definite by now instead of leading us all on “lets see if you know what to do or not” adventures, but I guess I’m wrong? Not even free games have this many issues just with the launcher; you’d think paying customers would get more answers with something like this. But as far as I’ve seen, there’s not even a “we’re working on it”. If this issue were only in existence for a few days, I’d understand and wouldn’t be so irked. But two months? Two months? So if this goes on, am I going to have to pay more money to switch worlds because I couldn’t log on to switch back to the world where all my friends are, because of an error that’s no fault of my own? The time which I’ve observed here tells me that might just happen. That hardly seems fair, does it?

At least make directions available if you’re going to make us learn basics of networking, Anet. This is ridiculous.

EDIT: Actually, I’ll share the logs with support staff. I’m not 100% comfortable with my specs all out in the open like that.

It’s the same for me. It seems to be happening a lot to those who have been gone for a while, and I’m hoping it’s fixed before the 28th so I can switch to the world that I want to be on, instead of being stuck on the world I’m currently in. I also have no idea how to check those ports, and I would love someone from Anet to possibly give some direction on this. Being that I could open GW2 just fine in late December, and I haven’t changed a thing about AVG or my firewall, something else had to’ve been changed. Can the launcher just not load more than one patch for those who’ve been gone for a while? That hardly seems fair.
I tried disabling everything, and still, nothing. It will flash “0kb/s downloading” and then back to connection error.
I’ve looked around the internet for directions on how to check those ports, and none of them really explain where I go to do it. Would love it if someone helped those of us with this issue.

I can switch between representing, of course; the guild I have with a few of my friends is very small and not many people are on at the same time, so it’s more of a roulette. I can guest on a server where the most people are playing, since I don’t get to group with said friends often.

Hey, I’ve been here ( as in… on the game, lol ) since the beginning, so I’m not really new, but I’m really kind of skittish, so I don’t socialize much.. But since I hit 80 forever ago, I’ve noticed I do probably need to make some friends to play the game with, and I would like to.
My Name: I don’t really care what name people call me since I use several, but the majority is either Meiz ( short for Meizicht, which is pronounced “My-zeekt”. I like to point it out or else people think I’m named after corn… xD ), Cage, Jesse, or whatever my IGN is at the time.
Main Character: Endraethyl, which is a ranger.
Current Server: Fort Aspenwood
Interested Activities: Er, well.. I’d like to do a fair amount of dungeons, PvE and simple socializing is fun. I don’t like PvP much because I’m stressed out real easy, but I think I may give it a try on here if I don’t lag too much.
Active: My times change a lot, but I’m usually on every day.
Additional Comments: I think what kind of drew me here was me and the OP had a similar “issue” with rambling. xD; I think you can tell I do it too.. I think maybe it should be a forewarning that I don’t have the best computer, so I have long loading screens and some lag, so that might affect my gameplay, though I’ve been able to work around it pretty well. I like to also talk to people outside the game too, so if I do hit it off with people here, I may bug about Skype. xD
I don’t do any voice chats, since I don’t have a mic, though. So things like raidcall, etc, are kind of out of the question for me.
Are you willing to participate in Operation: UNION’S project, Y/N?: I kind of have a question about this; even though I’m not new, I’m still kind of a newb, and I’m unsure if I can join more than one guild. xD; After all, I am in one made up of some of my irl friends and I don’t want to quit it. If I can, I certainly would like to participate.
