It’s not a scam. It may be overpriced for what you get but it’s far from being a scam.
For those who read the patch notes and instant-buy it on the tradepost without further notice, it is.
So basically, if you were foolish, you got scammed. That actually makes much sense. Even the most clear descriptions on an item in the TP can’t keep a fool and his money from parting.
Are you sure you read patch notes? Impulse buying is not ANet’s fault. Luckily for those who didn’t read properly ANet has lenient refund policies. They’re even refunding people who bought multiple salvage-o-matics who now have useless duplicates of the item.
I’m so mad they forced me to buy this. Such scam.
I’m not saying it’s not valid, but it’s not different than when Dungeons were in the nascent stages either; now you can PUG a dungeon with your eyes closed … AND we have had multiple balance patches in that time.
No, I just can’t see how the fate of the class PVE balance will be affected by raids, no more so than it was because of dungeons in the past. Doomsaying is not a compelling argument.
I’m not doomsaying, it’s happening right now :P many a time I see guardians being turned down in pug groups I join in favor of more ‘meta’ classes. But I suppose I get what you’re saying, too early to say the sky falling when we don’t know the extent of the changes they will do to compensate for lowering damage for DH.
Other classes having more DPS than Guardian in PVE does not make Guardians useless in PVE. That is all.
To 90% of the unwashed masses it does. So unless they’re in a decent guild guardians will always be shunned, which isn’t fun. Even if its based on ignorance, its still a handicap for those who aren’t in raiding guilds and pugging things is their only choice. Still decent in dungeons, but no one really does dungeons now.
Oh now HERE lies the real issue you have … you’re talking about RAIDING. And here is a bad bit of reality for you … no class will be balanced about their capabilities in raids because of the relative insignificance that raiding has on overall PVE gameplay.
It may seem insignificant right now, but raiding is still a valid PvE activity. It’s only going to get more telling as more raid wings become released, and additional raids.
You also edited your post, but pugs clear the raids no problem no, just not as fast as more organized raiding groups. The problem is that no pug accepts guardians unless they are the tank because in their eyes, their support abilities is not enough for their mediocre damage. Whether that is true or not doesn’t matter, its ingrained in the common pugger that if a guardian is not tanking then its useless.

Burst and disruption – so…trap nerf then?
Most definitely, since they said Dragonhunter specifically.
Necromancer
“The necromancer and its reaper elite specialization have been trundling (slow-moving, nefarious) through the battlefield, cleaving foes down in style. During this quarterly update, we’ll be looking at improving a couple of elite specialization traits and working with the baseline shroud to give it a bit more functionality. Leeching Bolts (comboing a projectile in a dark field) will now also heal through your shroud form.”
Sounds promising but I’m not setting myself up to get disappointed. I’m mainly interested in what they will do with base shroud. What would they need to add to base shroud to finally encourage most of us to cast off the elite spec? I think foot in the grave for one should be built into base shroud, but can only happen once every 30 seconds or so.
I’m hoping for a hammer sword, scepter changes. Just one of those and I would be happy, since elementalists atm are gushing over the perecived scepter changes incoming for them.
This the Tuesday update?
Guardian
In keeping with the general theme of improving less used options, we’ve been updating both traits and abilities to be more useful and to have a meaningful impact when you equip them. The dragonhunter elite specialization has proven to have a very solid impact in many areas of the game, but they’ve been a tad too effective in the areas of burst and disruption, and we’ll be looking to make slight adjustments in those areas.
RIP Guardians? Taking away what little they had left.
Can’t even move while channeling it.
Haven’t had issues with most except getting Oola’s crystal.
It’ll make map completion faster, awesome
Reapers hood
Chronomancer shoulders
Ascended cloth chest skin
Arah gloves
Arah pants
Arah bootsDye accordingly. I run this on a female human and I have to say it is one of the best looks I’ve come up with.
Got pics?
I sound kinda pervy lol
ESO was supposed to kill GW2, Archeage was supposed to kill GW2, Wildstar (NCSoft?) was supposed to kill it too. Only one game is hanging in there, and that’s only because of the shift from sub to play to b2p.
Now Blade and Soul and Black Desert Online are going to kill GW2.
At least they haven’t posted on reddit before official forums this time.
Just doing my civic duty of making the official forums as toxic as possible. Don’t think of me as a hero, but as a friend.
Wait for the banwave, Anet doesn’t ban one by one, they ban in waves so botters/hackers don’t get a chance to warn others
On my 80 engi I have no problems two shotting mobs in the starting zones. Never played mesmer tho. You’re also level 54 and downscaled, but without seeing your gear, what abilities you used it’s hard to tell. Revs are also pretty bursty classes. Mesmers are really sought after classes though, they bring a lot of utility, so yes I’d say it gets better later on.
But as I said earlier on without any info on your gear, the revenant’s gear, this is all conjecture
Looking pretty brutal there.
and this has got noting at ALL to do with wvw
I’m reasonably sure Anet changed it a while back to only take WvW activity into consideration. Should be in some old dev post.
I believe I found it in my earlier post
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/World-Population-Changes-Are-Coming
WvW isn’t very popular lately since HoT so yea, most people who are about WvW now are on T1 and T2 servers.
Isn’t that for WvW activity?
no that is for all game types . and you can find this information . when you log into the
game. by the worlds list
iirc server transfer prices are based on WvW activity, not the server population
Isn’t that for WvW activity?
Cuz if I recall correctly, server transfers are based on WvW activity, not server population.
Fair enough, also this is for all game modes, pvp, wvw, pve. I’m guessing it’s only workable in pve.
Is GS only a power weapon, or can it work with a hybrid condi build since it has some chill in its rotation? Love the idea of conditions but don’t dig the scepter playstyle so much.
I was kind of annoyed at first about this, but now I spend more time on the Reddit Guild Wars 2 subreddit, it’s much more pleasant there. Many posters here are not fun to read or talk to.
The shield skills are really strong but the cooldowns on them are way too long to b reliable imo
I started playing FF14 a few days ago and I’m having a blast. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative or secondary mmo. The last time I played the free trial I wasn’t into it, but this time around I’m hooked.
I Tried ESO during the beta. Things were very broken then, which ultimately led to me never trying it again. One of these days I’m sure I will though.I just tried it today and yesterday..
It’s better, but still really really bland and boring overall.
Morrowind on the original xbox was just as fun if not better.
Waaaay too many fetch quests and back and forth to give items to quest givers who are different zones apart. The small map sizes and constant loading screens were too much for me. Looks nice, awesome atmosphere but it played way too slow in its questing and combat
Bought it on sale, got to around level 14, questing was ok but it felt incredibly slow. The voice acting was okay but none of them were particularly interesting like the traditional ES games, save for the main quest. Read up about the champion points part and uninstalled.
The shades make him look like a vampire hunter ala Blade. Pretty cool, I can envision him firing silver bullets with those guns too. Silver I guess
The LFG is a little deceiving, as parties are filled they disappear and I need to refresh to keep the list updated, but there’s quite a lot of people using it, Dungeons even have people doing story occasionally.
Can’t reapers use axes or staff as an off weapon though?
Hey guys, recently came back and I’m trying to figure out what the difference, if any is between base necro and the reaper. I’m having trouble finding a reason why one would stay the base class, as it seems reaper still has access to all necro skills + reaper abilities and the addition of being able to use a GS on top of the base necro weapons. I’ve looked up websites and wikis on reaper, and it only pretty much tells me the new abilities they have. I’ve heard base classes should be on par with the new elite specializations, but with necro and reaper, there seems to be no reason not to go reaper.
Not saying this to be mean or anything, but if you want a WoW class, maybe you should play WoW, especially if it’s something like a deathknight? And the only similarity I can see a shaman and engineer have in common is that turrets act like totems because they’re stationary. Everything else, just no.
Dunno about you but on my level 80’s in a mix of rare/exotics I can 3 shot most mobs. My ascended engi can 1-2shot most things in low level zones.
Awesome. I’ll check it out
It’s a pretty good outfit. It’s the first I’ve considered buying, the shadow assassin is nice but it didn’t wow me like this one.
Sucks to hear, guess I’ll just play with exotic armor and build another set slowly
Just came back from a break, and wanting to roll a thief. On my engineer I crafted a set of celestial armor, and thinking of rolling another medium armor class just to use the ascended armor. Can thieves use celestial armor and be effective, or am I better off going ranger?
1. Each class doesn’t have their own story, but each race does. The decisions you make in the first half of the story it can change, and even each race can have a different story based on what choices you make at character creation. There is also the order arc, where there are three different orders to join that have their own stories and choices. But once you start the pact arc, that is where it all becomes the same.
2. Not sure about this but if you lost the email it may be hard to recover your older account.
3. They haven’t said anything about ‘raiding’ in the sense you’re talking about, but they haven’t denied it later.
4. World map completion, living story episodes, creating ascended gear ( Anet’s answer to the gear treadmill ) creating your legendary, explorer dungeons, fractals, collecting minis, collecting all wardrobe slots, Spvp, WvW, guild activities and building are all things that you can do at level 80. Achievement hunting as well.
While I dislike dungeon selling, you’re right that no one is forcing them to buy the runs. Unsure how the party sytem works my self now but maybe you’ll have to bite the bullet and have three people of your own in a group and sell the run to two people. Less profit, but beats being kicked out
Same outfit, different color scheme. I kinda like this one better. It looks more “serious” with the leather top and less like Sir Peter of Pan.
Very nice look. I liked your look in the original post but something felt off, these changes are much better.
This is my sylvari. I absolutely love this look though it’s missing magitech boots but I’m not exactly in a hurry to spend 10 dollars on only the boots. Finding a look that didn’t involve a trench coat took and extremely long time for me and I messed around with the same jerkin you use but I didn’t even cross those pants.
Totally need to share the pieces you have for your sylvari. Also, I think people posting their non trench coat images should also post their armour setups to help the poor souls out there :P
Sorry not seeing what you’re seeing, or at least this never happens to me.
Are you playing an asura by chance? Part of their animation is they stumble forward a bit, then return to the center of the player position should be, but they aren’t actually moving any further than that.
I had to put the game on hiatus shortly after season one of Living story and notice that I didn’t completely miss out on season two since I have the option to buy them with gems. Besides the story ( which seems worth it) what would I be getting if I bought all the LS episodes?
B-b-but no new level cap!!!!oneone11one!!
Eeht mahst meen no pruhgreshun!
Same. But as soon as I heard the word expansion from Mike, couldn’t help but feel my expectations start rising higher and higher with each announcement.
