Sounds amazing. Although did notice they didn’t mention dungeons. Think that’s pretty much granted or did they want to move away from dungeons?
Gotcha, thanks guys.
Was browsing some websites while during the holidays at my relatives and found an MMO that uses Guild Wars 2 art. Not sure if I’m allowed to post a link to the website.
Between rifle and longbow, which one is better in most situations? I know that Rifle is better single target dps apparently and longbow for a mix of condition and power as well as aoe, but I don’t really have enough tokens yet for two ranged weapons yet. I run a lot of dungeons and looking to get my warrior into fractals soon, so which should I get first, and what sigil is generally used?
Remember the room before the boss with the spiders? Two will spawn there. One is to the right side of the room, the other is on the entrance from where you entered orginally. Grab those and plop them down in the corridor before the boss and the crystals should have respawned again for you to grab. Keep doing this until you feel you have enough crystals
I always thought swords were condition weapons, how much damage would I lose going over a sword vs axe? Other than the auto attack, axe feels kind of underwhelming and sword appeals more to me. Any builds for swords or is it just all condi?
I miss rocket boots underwater, guardians reflecting trebuchet and ballista shots
Best New MMO of 2013: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
Runners-up: Tie between Neverwinter and Defiance
While I never played FFXIV, had to laugh at what it competed against
I had a few stacks of wool, cloth etc. But used them up pretty quickly with ascended crafting. What are good ways to get these on a level 80 character? I seem to only get a good yield if I play an alt, but that alt is slowly becoming max level and getting the things I don’t really need. Is playing TP my only option?
How are you guys going about it? Are you getting an all around set to use in pvp/wvw and PvE? Having a hard time deciding what to make since I do a ton of PvE and WvW. Am I right to assume that PvE is easy enough that exotics are just fine? Thinking of making a celestial set, thinking it might be manageable for pve or would I be hindering my group too much? It’s a pain how much effort ascended armor is to get and I feel like I’m only going to get one set. Too much effort for two sets on one character.
If it pumps more players back into the starter zones i’ll be a very happy player, while I love trying new classes, having no one but NPC’s with you in the starter zones makes me cry a little on the inside.
Odd I have the opposite problem, lots of people running aorund the starter zones, but once I get to level 40-50 I don’t see many people around.
Hmm might be the color scheme but human females look much better
I’m having a hard time retaking settlements while exploring the world. While leveling my ranger in Harathi highlands, it seems taking settlements or camps is hardly rewarding besides the initial exp and karma reward. THey don’t last long at all, not ten minutes went by before the centaur took the camps I helped retake.
How long are they supposed to last? Sometimes in the dead hours of my server this can be kind of annoying when there isn’t anyone to help out. I never really had this problem until I got to a zone no one really quests in, do events pop up based on player activity or is there just a timer before they get taken by enemy NPCs again?
Agreed, hope to see more, and kind of wish this kind of work went into the personal story.
Warriors’ axe five doesn’t reflect projectiles
They hinted that if they were to implement a new profession to the game it’d be a heavy
Hey guys so I’m going to make a human character, first one ever and want to see their story. Which one do you prefer based on voice acting? And do males look good in light armor? Most of the players I’ve seen that worked on their look were female so I don’t really know how good male humans look. Cheers
Grenades aren’t the only viable kit to use, seriously. Even if bombs don’t fit your image of melee they’re still up close and hit really hard, especially with the recent changes. You don’t even have to aim with them, just walk up to someone and spam 1-2, and with forceful explosives you can avoid damage pretty easily in boss fights while remaining close enough to receive buffs and give combo fields to the party

I blame personal story development. We got gems like antitoxin spray because of it!
Some variation of HGH might be a good pistol only build? Dunno but pistol is kind of weak on its own imo
This is my bomberman build: http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-W;4cPkk0f6V1Fx0;9;4TT-9-26712A;10;35;5udbTudbTm-kr0;5VOVTWYXcY96o_-30BN2s;5cW5PcW5Pn
Experimenting with modified ammunition, bombs and elixir gun for a wide amount of conditions to keep on enemies. Can use eagle or ogre runes instead of scholar if money is tight. P/P instead of shield if you would rather have another utility than elixir gun, but the stun break is nice and acid bomb is nice damage and a skill to get out of dangerous situations.
For the explosives trait line, I’m really not sure if I want incendiary powder over explosive powder or short fuse, any advice for that anyone?
Hey guys, I’m pretty sure this has been suggested before. My guild was made up of a bunch of RL friends but the guild leader is now gone and we’re unable to really progress with the guild because there is no way to transfer leadership due to inactivity. So is there anything being done for guilds with inactive guild leaders? I know we can start a guild, but we then we can’t choose the same name as our useless guild now. Hope something gets implemented soon or is already being worked on!
Mine would be my engineer, having multiple kits to play with makes the class seem fun with lots of ways to play, similar to how I enjoy my warrior because it has access to a wide variety of weapons when I want to mix things up. But engineer since guns and gadgets were pretty shiny back then, and they boast one of the longest range dps out there with grenades. Been enjoying leveling my ranger though.
Yeah. I’m thinking there would be a lot of restrictions put on the flag runner, no stealth, invulnerabilities and possibly stabililty skills, or instability would be reduced effect. This would make it so there would be some thought to team compositions, have effective flag runner builds similar to WoW perhaps. It’d suck that not all classes would be equal flag runners but they could probably be better flag protecters
I really like this game mode a lot, does anyone else enjoy this immensely compared to conquest mode? It’s kinda sad I feel this imo, never got into Spvp but Snowball Mayhem is a ton of fun! Plz anet bring capture the flag to Spvp, I hate conquest.
Would be nice to at least play the bell choir together
That’s disappointing to hear, but thanks for the answer
Hey guys. So I’m leveling an alt and decided to go exploring the cities. Instead of just finding areas for Map completion, I’ve also started talking to NPCs. I ran into Barmaid Karlena in Divinity’s Reach, and she was advertising her bar needing bouncers and the dialogue gave me an option to ask about it, which then put a personal waypoint on my map to the bar. So I was wondering if there were other things like this, or is it just a common thing you find in cities? Unfortunately when I arrived at the bar I wasn’t unable to find Headwaiter Galim, so was unable to progress.
Wait powershoes is going to be a speed buff at all times now? I only saw changes in inventions for :
Energized Armor
Autotool Installation
Not reall just a charr problem, what about engineers with kits equpped? Their fault too :P
Medium t3 cultural is pretty good, especially if you want to get away from the trench coat look, and looks great
Or we could have side capes.
That would probably clip with every shield.
Unlikely.
Shields don’t stay on the back
9/10 I like charr with light armor lately. Don’t see a lot of whispers armor either so nice!
Here’s my charr engineer. I think he could be in Fallout.
Oh ya. Wrong forum, haha
Just wondering why Anet has never given support to any streamers? I’ve seen a few potential streamers who have been streaming since release, but 2 of my most watched streamers have since quit GW2 because they haven’t seen Arenanet give support to a single streamer. I feel like if they give support to a streamer or two it could help with publicity and popularity of the game, especially for PVP. Koroshi was one of them, but he moved on and is waiting for Wildstar. I just remember the glory days of the Guild Wars 1 and the pvp scene there was booming, but it’s so nonexistent here. Need GvG soon imo
Solo pve condition does fine but in dungeons due to condition stack of 25 and overlapping with other players you’re better off running a direct damage build ( Power ) I wish they would change this mechanic for PvE so I don’t need to run with two sets but meh.
But since berserker gear is the standard I think you would be fine going condi, you might run into some people who will get annoyed if they find out you’re condition though. And if you find someone else who has more condition damage than you you’re going to be useless in the group.
However, in WvW and Spvp, condition is king
With a kit equipped you don’t have to run on all fours at all, makes it easy to avoid that but I never got what was so wrong with it, it was actually one of the reasons I picked charr because of the way they ran
Dredge. Not only for the reasons listed already but as a charr in the Iron Legion it’d be pretty sweet to see what the new alliance could come up with, both seem quite advanced in industrialization
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I guess I’ll craft a set of dire gear and see how it goes. What runes would you suggest? Undead seems solid for now for some extra defense, but perplexity seems interesting.
Isn’t what makes offhand mace really strong the vulnerability stacks with 4?
Everytime I use empower (Staff 4) all the male asurans in the vicinity have to inform me they feel ‘six feet tall’.
I’m using a basic condi build in WvW currently.
I have a rabid set at the moment, and have quite a bit of precision just because I have a few on critical effects. Do I have too much precision at the moment? How much do I need to keep sigil of blood and incendiary powder up at a comfortable level? Thanks.
Right now I have a full set of rabid gear that I use in WvW, but I need to switch to berserker for PvE since condition has a lot of limiting mechanics like condition cap and overlap. With the way GW2 is set up switching between two armor sets is kind of clunky and I’d rather not have to dabble around with switching armor for a minute or two before switching activities. Thanks!
Awesome! I just returned to the game recently but can you expand on ‘progression system of continually expanded skills and traits’ ? Are we getting new skills now?
Country armor with burning shoulders
Does Anet do Gem refunds? For unspent gems at least bought with IRL money. I recently bought some gems and this is a major concern of mine and I don’t feel comfortable using cash to buy things from the store after this, would rather just stick to gold from now on.
I believe this is the fastest response I’ve seen to an issue the playerbase had a beef with. Something purely cosmetic opposed to say gamebreaking mechanics like engineer utilities not working in a dungeon, broken traits, rangers etc that took months to be fixed or are not even addressed yet.
Did they think they can get more gem sales if they fixed the skin and profit > gameplay is the general direction Anet takes? I’m not really trying to instigate or be negative but it’s a curious observation I’ve had. Granted coding fixes isn’t an easy job, but designing new outfits isn’t either, unless they’re just going to reskin another outfit again :/
Regarding the clipping issues with armor, Anet has been updating armor sets so charr tails don’t clip so horribly, adding holes or flaps which is nice. Not all of them are updated but they’re doing it slowly.
