The devs have been ignoring this since they nerfed the effects, I expect them to keep doing so.

I will never spend real money on gems unless Anet reverses this nerf in some way. This isn’t the game I paid for.

I played the HoT content long enough to unlock gliding and then left, never to return. I found the experience massively frustrating and time wasting – I simply died over and over and over until I lost interest.

“We don’t have performance measuring tools in the game so it’s impossible to gauge another person’s performance once they are in a group.”

I find it kind of shocking that an MMO in 2016 wouldn’t have either in-game tools or third party extensions for performance feedback.

As a new player I can confirm that Mastery Points from the personal stories aren’t being awarded from doing other races. It sounds like the developers have clarified that you are awarded one point per chapter (i.e. 10, 20, etc.) but only for the chapters, and only once. So the new Asura I created awarded no point when I completed the level 10 chapter.

Now I’m back to wasting xp because I can’t unlock any achievements. Triple Trouble is something I either can’t get on a map for, or it fails. JP? I’m a new player, can’t do them.

I guess I have to live with a flashing xp bar while I spin my wheels.

I’ve only been playing for 3 months so I understand the HoT content probably isn’t something I’m up to tackling. So I’m trying to level central Tyria masteries but now I’m maxed out on xp and don’t have enough points so all I’m doing now is wasting xp.

Trying to do TT is the most reasonable option to get a couple points so I can continue with the crafting mastery but my attempts have been washes so far. I find the result of this bottleneck is me wanting to play less and less. I don’t really feel like doing story stuff on races I don’t really like and I’m not sure what else to do.

I’m not ever going to play eSports and now that Fireball is more like Firepea, I’m not going to play my Elementalist any more.

It looks so ineffectual now, really has me not playing my elementalist.

I’m a new player, ele was my first to level to 80 and I can say after the change, it takes most of the fun out of playing. It’s so weak looking.

Watched youtube video. What I learned? Be a warrior because he was doing the same stuff I did but wasn’t taking damage.

The Ghost Rite made me decide to put it aside for now. I’m killing endless numbers of undead while my health hovers near zero. I’m not feeling it.

I’ll watch someone else’s youtube video because there’s probably something silly keeping me from completing it.

I love the game, btw, I played free for 3 days and then bought it. Never looking back.

Claw Island is just killing my will to keep doing this. I’m doing the Ghost Rite part on my first Necro and it’s just neverending combat and I can never get my health back. I’m tired of long, drawn out sequences where I’m doing something wrong and end up quitting and looking up someone’s video on it.

Is it worth doing through the Victory or Death part?

I am crashing repeatedly today – froze up in my story quest, twice just in Lion’s arch. Anything with a lot of activity around me seems to be just ripe to lock up.

I’m crashing within 5 minutes every time I log in today. Twice in Lion’s Arch and once in a zone. The client just freezes. Happens in any area with a decent amount of activity.

Suddenly I’m getting freezes during World Bosses and getting no credit for the event when I log back in.

I’m crashing on World Bosses and not getting credit. It’s very frustrating and just started. It’s messing up my daily completion.

As of right now, still happening. I get a message about network problems but my wireless is fine – as evidenced by me being able to come here to post this.

Shadow Behemoth just crashed – kicking me off twice and then just despawned. No credit.

As a new player, I was fairly dismayed to look at the rare staff I picked up at 80 and saw it had the same artwork as the staff I got at lvl 2

Yeah, I zoned in, did some story part, now I’m at “unlocking glider mastery” and no direction on how to do that. My xp bar went back to 0, I still have a 0 on the level for it.

And when I explore, the mobs inevitably swarm and I die and am left with a huge walk-back. The zone seems deserted.

As a new player who just hit 80 and then stopped my personal story when I saw a full xp bar that seemed to be stuck, I find the new area and everything about it completely confusing. At this point, even unlocking glider mastery is a mystery. I don’t know how or where to go.

I worried I was “wasting xp” too and now that I’m in the new zone, I find it completely confusing. Unlocking glider mastery has no instructions whatsoever, I’m spending more time trying to read up on the game than playing it at this point.

It’s up and running now – downloading is going just fine.

I guess I’m going to hold off on deleting the folders for this. Disappointing, considering I just paid for the game.
