Yeah, some of the devs read here. Some don’t.
The only thing it’s really good for is patch notes.
It’s also kinda of good in a therapeutic way of you get to announce your concerns, but it amounts to the same as you telling the closest wall.
Oh, I agree they should work on new content, but that takes more time and money than rehashing the old, dusting it off, and putting it in as new content (it seems that way anyway)… so… I’m willing to bet will get more content that is refurb’d than new content.
They’ll either nerf the currents into the ground when HoT becomes free or raise the new one ever so higher during that time.
I believe that this will be the case. That they will nerf the current elite specs down right before the next expac hits so that the new elites coming out will look that much stronger by comparison… as a selling point.
I hate time gates. I hate time gates in this game. I hate all the time gates from the first to the last. Remove them. Now.
Yeah, would have been nice for the elites for Rangers and Guardians to be flipped, but too late to worry about that now.
I’m just hoping against hope that they read the QoL post by Wanderer and friggin listen to it… I mean, I’m still waiting on a keybind for some things.
I routinely up the difficulty on GW2 by getting drunk… and it’s still too easy. Please make changes, Anet Devs, so drunk me has a hard time.
Well, Vince… Hate to break it to you but that’s what Fractals are for now.
And, Ben, a dodge key? What’s that?
Sad. Again refurbished and rewarmed stuff.
Wasn’t that point of fractals, though? To reuse content and refresh it at the same time?
Get yourself fractal potions – they help a lot!
25% reduced damage received is amazing
Yup. They do. I opt’d to get the infinite potions…
So.. only two weeks of traveling for work left and still no invites. I guess those guilds that do training runs don’t look here.
We’ve needed that keybind since day one..
I’m finding all the classes far too easy in PVE. Any chances of some changes?
All the elites will get nerfed further as we get closer to the next expansion… I’m just glad they didn’t touch PVP. Anet gets kudos for me for splitting more skills between the 3 modes.
Just wait for the future elite specs to arrive. A-net’s decision will make sense then.
I’ve been saying this for awhile (at least 6 months) now. They’re nerfing down, and will continue to nerf HOT especs, to make the forth coming next expac especs look that much better by comparison to sell boxes.
Am I the only person who thinks sword/Axe power glyph is pretty good dps?
No, but you’re in an extremely small minority I’d imagine. So, serious question, not mocking or anything, but you do play any other classes in ascended power specs? I ask because I do so I can see, first hand, how the Druid DPS specs pale in comparison.
No matter the build/stat combo I can’t make my Druid kill things in PVE very fast at all… which is why I gave up on it and run a magi wearing glyph buffing GOTL build and don’t care about DPS… It’s just pitiful. My zerk necro kills things in PVE a helluva lot faster than my Druid. It’s very very noticeable.

Because the obvious they will still be fine to run.
Full magi druid doesn’t add as much time as you would think to any of the T4 fractals. People who don’t know the mechanics add WAY more time to the length of a T4 fractal than anything.
A bit too much to read in one sitting, but you might wanna look into RTI:
Raid Training Initiative; RTI.enjin.com where both professionals and newcomers come
and have fun together in raids. No competition, just training, fun and/or kill-oriented runs.
On their web site you linked they aren’t accepting new members now.
All nerfing is in relation to PVP. They don’t nerf with PVE in mind unless something is overtly OP and/or game breaking.
But its a sad announcement. Looks unlikely we’ll see new content this year. Maybe some new items to gring for
Yup, and I’ll miss out… I’ll be unable to log on from Oct 17 to Oct 29 due to work obligations. Sucks, but gotta keep the bills paid to be able to log on at all.
Before the Jul 26th or whatever it was, when the Chaos Fractal got added, I was getting 1-6 ascended chests a week (on average) for the previous 3 years of running fractals. I stopped doing fractals for awhile and just recently (about 3-4 weeks ago) started doing them again and haven’t gotten one ascended chest since I started back on fractals. RNG is RNG I guess.
Lemme put it in prespective… In that same time I haven’t gotten an ascended chest from T4 fractals, I’ve pulled 2 precursors from Zommoros’s bung hole.

It’s still relevant. All of these discussions and suggestions are valid since nothing really changed.
I am still hoping for our horrendous traits to get buffed or changed. Seriously. I can smell a huge nerf to druid sometime soon, making some of our core ranger traits viable will be gladly welcomed.
There will be a huge nerf for all Elite specs just before the next expansion drops to make the next expansion that much better (by comparison) so they’ll sell more of it… I’m unsure though, whether HOT will become F2P or not. I guess they’ll roll it into the new expansion to help sell it.
They could balance it, but they don’t want to. Anet is aiming for perfect (or cyclical) imbalance in their PVP.
Hope it’s a hammer and they flesh out and use that “Aspects” suggestion that looked as though it was going to be part of Druid before they scrapped it.
Dagger would be cool, too. I just don’t see the point of a DPS spec when that should be part of core Ranger in part with sword touch-ups and tweaks.
If it turns out to be a Dagger and a DPS spec, it will be just another power creep that addresses an issue with core Ranger instead of a side-grade. Something I hope Anet learned with their, “What we learned” post they made a few months ago.
Dang dude, you summed up my thoughts on the subject before I was done scrolling to the bottom to reply. Especially with the touching up the sword.
I really really like to see that aura or aspect thing talked about in the CDI be put into play. IIRC it would go something like this: F5 is activation, then you absorb the pet for a short time (like the Druid’s special ability), and F1-F4 become new abilities based on pet class. Yeah, that I would like to see.

I generally do what Jerus said, but I run magi ascended for FOTM pugs and when I do dabble in failed raids. For my general running around (depending on how sober I am) I run the magi or zerker/marauder builds.
I miss the BF gliding skills in EB. In fact, I miss them everywhere outside of BF.
Much agreed. Was disappointed not to see them in EB.
jeez no patience …
….
We have been waiting for 2 months now (if next week then 2,5)
its fine if they give 4 big balance patches per year but they also need to do smaller updates in between.. Anet is just way too slow on this for 4 years now.
and even with the big balance updates they just shift the meta around and be done with it. thats what Anet does.
Yes, that is exactly what Anet does. They shoot towards cyclical imbalance. Once you understand that they, the developers don’t want the game to be perfectly imbalanced and you understand what cyclical imbalance is, the way the Devs have balanced GW2 makes the absolute sense.
Without a Dev quoted saying that rumor is rumor and nothing more.
When is balance even supposed to be?
It’s not. They operate on cyclical imbalance. Look it up. Once you read over what that is the balancing they have done in GW2 all makes 100% sense.
Wait… Has Ranger been best for competitive, ever?
… Did I miss something ? Or did you mean the cycle of Ele/Warrior taking the best spot in circles ?
This video describes the reasons why Anet’s balancing seems like “whack-a-mole”:

Axe/Torch + Staff. Trap utilities.
Use Torch 5 Bonfire + traps on groups.
Use Axe 1 Ricochet + 2 Splitbladefor casual tagging.
Use Staff 3 for mobility as needed. It’s not very beneficial for teams but it’ll get you all the credit you need.
Yeah, that’s pretty much what I run except I use LB instead of Staff…. but I’ll be giving staff a go this year.
Without a Dev quoted saying that rumor is rumor and nothing more.

That’s been figured out for a long time:

I find that 2 condi necros + 1 druid + 1 guard + 1 ele or 2 condi necro + 1 druid + 1 ele + 1 chrono to be best pug combo right now for t4… not that I consider it meta. My experience in the 4 necro + 1 druid has been fairly bad.
my ps power warrior seems to do just fine and extremely good damage.
Oh, yeah, there’s no problem there for me, I just don’t see many warriors in high level fractals anymore. For that matter I see more DDs and Chronos than PS Berserkers.
Every time I kill a mob of something, I miss the loot in the first Scarlet invasion even more.
It already exists. It’s called Perfect Imbalance. Its ever-changing effects helps keep the game interesting.

You should be a politician.
Or, actually, you shouldn’t – we really don’t need any more of that type of whataboutery.
Imbalance isn’t “interesting”, it’s just bad design.
Um, actually…
Wow… That cyclical imbalance pretty much sums up PvP balancing in this game… Really makes me wish they’d separate skills for the different game formats even more though.
1) Must have decent number of active players around 19:00 CST
2) Members must have decent sense of humor
3) Don’t really care about guild hall since I have access to a fully loaded one
4) I’m mainly looking for a raid guild to learn with and then continue with
Fractals: I mainly run a druid, but have 4 or 5 other toons with 150AR as well. Use to speed run 50s way back in the day.
Raids: Since I’m not going to be working traveling rotations anymore I’d like to seriously try to get into raids now. Have quite a few toons I can run raids in from Rev to Druid to DD to Chrono to DH.
Now, I’m not a serious WvW or anything and if it’s after 18:00 CST I most likely have whiskey in hand. Just looking for a guild to cut up with in WvW. Don’t care about guild hall as I have access to a fully loaded one already, but I do care about having a fair bit of active members who don’t take life too seriously.

Now that I won’t be working a traveling rotation I’m looking for a raid guild as well… isn’t there a subsection of this forum for this kind of post though?

We do have a speargun, so a rifle would be the next step.
And that reason, right there, is why it’s completely in the realm of possibility for the Ranger to get a rifle or pistol with the next expac e-spec.
Underwater dragon… which means underwater battles! Yaay!
Finally some underwater combat in underwater, since we barely get any underwater stuff at all these days in underwater!!!!!
Ohh.. did I forget to mention it was underwater?
Ha. Given how few weapon and utility skills actually work underwater … What I suspect is that Steve is going to surface and go on land so that we don’t have to go underwater.
After this fractal got nerfed it became easier than a lot of other t4 fractals.
Yeah, after the recent nerf now it’s enjoyable and not super annoying. I don’t mind it anymore.
I don’t find it clunky, but I do find it less useful. I find I am using 1, then an occasional 2, with a 4 if a breakbar is up. That’s it. Never use 3 and 5 rarely.
However, I don’t use my staff in WvW, so perhaps those would be more useful there.
For the most part, it’s just a disappointing weapon.
You’re not using 3? Hmm. I use it a lot to blast a field.
You know what’s funny? I’ve been running my raid healing build in T4 fractals and not one person in the past 3-4 weeks has complained about it. What people have said, however, is that with a couple of condi necros and a healer, T4 fractals are stupid easy no matter what the two remaining classes are, power or condi. Only time we had problems was when people didn’t know the content well enough, not because of team composition.
Full disclosure:
1) I have not noticed the toughness change make a bit of difference.
2) I only PUG fractals, no premades.
This is a good list. I endorse this list 100%. Let’s make the Ranger great again!
Over all I like the new map… although I like Bloodstone Fen more.
Seems like this was the least populated LS release to date. Not once were my minis hidden due to player population. So, either you guys changed out megaservers work or people just didn’t show up.
I would have liked more story.
I would really like the ability to access the heart vendor without having to the heart quest every freaking time. Yeah, I understand why you guys did it, which was only for the petri wood, but I’d say just put THAT behind the heart quest instead of the entire vendor.
Honestly, the only instab I actively avoid is the toxic sludge one now.
The greatsword is viable just as every weapon in the game is viable in that you will eventually accomplish the goal of killing something, it’s just not the most efficient weapon to use to do it.
typically speaking 1 hand sword is our highest DPS weapon which snobby pve speed runner is a must have but for the average group GS is more then suitable.
Say what? Who uses Druids/Rangers for speed runs these days? Why would you bring the 2nd lowest DPS for speed runs? Casual runs, sure… Bitter much?
Indeed but everything is a giant HP bag… so…
That bug was so friggin annoying
