Overall hate it, the nerfs in some places where over bearing while the buffs where avg across the board and the vender change was flat out kittening bullkitten, instead of a basic increase in cost which would have been fine they locked the venders behind crafting again and forced non crafters to lose even more ground in game, it also cost more then crafting the gear itself making the gifts required now

Its flat out worst thing I’ve seen Anet do in a long time the forced crafting makes me want to quit again, been here since alpha and never crafted, my main roles are non raid meta classes so I cant even attempt raid hand outs.

All my characters sit in exotic and I play fractal/pvp in hopes to finely get gear that allows me to be more favorable in groups and again locked out by CRAFTING thats complete bullkitten where my only way of obtaining armor/weapons is now from random RNG luck nothing else.

I think its such BS, I don’t craft ever in any game and refuse to I hate crafting never level any of my crafts and been here since the start, the fact I still use exotic on all my 80s and characters I had flat out quit cause the lack of progression, raids dont accept my class so cant be feed this gear now I cant even purchase it.

The price increase I dont mind but forcing people to craft is complete kitten up may as well quit again since I’m back to being content locked by CRAFTING

The concept of only 1 guild is flawed. Look at Elder Scrolls and actual medieval times a guild is a set group of individuals with set skills and there members can belong to a multitude of other guilds of other skills they have like a skilled swordsmen is also a skilled carpenter.

Having the option to exchange witch guild one can talk to at will doesn’t discourage anything it just lets people have more free will to enjoy RP,PvE,PvP, etc focused guilds in players they wish to engage. If you are so self entitled and loyal to another person like a sheep there is no reason to force your sheep views on others and demand only 1 guild per character. There are guilds that require 100% rep and there are those that are encourage freedom and social interactions that a good guild would be promoting in the 1st place.

At any rate I like the 5 limit cap it’s a lot better then the old 3 limit cap and all 3 of the guilds i’m in are active and people come in and talk and go as they wish and is very friendly there’s always something to do.

Now I’ve been around for a long time and do not post often but I would like to bring up some “Missing” things.

1. What ever happend to the In-game music player to allow the use of one’s own music across the game? I’ve noticed now not even the “hidden” folder is there to even do this the long way.

2. They had planned to bring back “HD Screenhot” feature from the Closed Alpha/Beta Test that took 7680×4320 screenshots that looked extremely good but disable it during the last Open Beta Test weekend and kinda buried the dirt on the subject.

There’s a lot more features and such that have gone missing or just out right set aside like the “Fix” to WvW Achievements that require over 1,000,000 “x” to achieve.
But I wanted to point these out before the feature patch.

If anyone else wants to add to “missing stuff” feel free to.

I love the way the plant life them blends into the armors simply based on skin to dye matching. I rare one of the more rare to see Arah sets and just a basic T1 reskin set that I switch between. The racials are very cool in terms of the tool belt utilitys they gain aswell.

I would say go for it even in the story the Sylvari was one of the major founding technology that was used to help hold the other race’s tech together.

The Glow is currently bugged in the Makeover Kit screen and does not show simple as that.(I want to do a Makeover but I would like to see the Glow)

The loading screens consist of concept art from the start of development to current release patch(will probably see Halloween arts soon) and do not reflect lore or settings in all case its simple a added feature to make them better looking(<3 loading screens) but if you want a conan answer its simple a young looking adult.

A ASUS GTX570 1.24gb DX11 and a GTX670M DX11 both running stable 45-65 FPS max settings and different situation’s (the 570 with SS gets around 37 FPS and 670M gets around 48 avg witch seems odd to me but owell)

All I see in this thread is bad players, what decides a viable build is the player skill used with the build instead of running meta short bow learn you class the stats you need and the play style with the weapon I run both a Berserk and a Knight set with Greatsword/sword:dagger and a longbow specs for different instances in terms of WvW and generic PvE and have yet to run into a single "shortbow"meta that can out dps/tank in pve and can aoe farm the anywhere close to as fast running greatsword/longbow and in WvW at simple die from being tickled to death.

This whole “ones you nerfed my meta I don’t know how to play anything else” thing needs to go this isn’t a dps based game,sure my greatsword spec has say 300 dmg less auto attack but I have 1k more defense 5k more HP standard aoe on all attacks and fits my play style and allows me to easily handle all these meta shortbow players.Do to lack of skill.

argh. almost as bad as the ranger threads for Shortbow, This change hasn’t effected me at all the grenades are still very effective underwater and even the Harpoon gun running both my 30/30/0/10/0 spec and the 0/30/30/10/0 specs can out gun any class underwater.

The engineer is one of the strongest underwater classes and the changes are a non factor.All I have seen since this silly update is classes that are very strong complain about being a hair weaker cause of lack of player skill,sure these changes make all the baddie meta players complain but anyone with half a brain is doing fine.

The only valid complaint about this patch is the lack of attention warriors are getting and how much stronger they all then other classes in terms of Rifle damage.

The issue is stealth. When you can go invisible you just camp all day. All you would have to do is hide out and jump and down over and over again (any programmable kb/mouse could do this) and rake in your rewards. The never ending nature of an MMO is what makes it near impossible to code correctly.

Sadly your misunderstanding scouting,let me break it down in MMO format close to another game with stealth classes and such.

Enabling a system much like commando title(but without the shiny blue shield) maybe a smoke/flare you could mark a clear/empty outpost or small group of players think of wars in 1900’s where smoke where to be set off admist a group or base and then mortar teams would fallow up with a shelling. same could be done here some marks a spot then if its attack/taken/killed within X time of mark they get assist/scout credits allowing a scout to mark empty supply camp within say 10 mins a smapp group attacks and takes it the scout/scouts who marked it would then get a small credit in its capping.

If i have to explain how to keep afkers from doing this so be it but this is not the thread for this topic its the thread for a logical analysis system that rewards players(witch it shouldn’t other then title maybe)in WvW

Hmm, i don’t play FPS games as you can tell. Sounds interesting and not sure why it’s never been implemented into an MMO with Open PvP before.

Its used in “A” MMO under NDA currently and is rather nice feature and it is something a lot of MMOs don’t have or think about and would be nice but its also something for another thread or suggestion( I may post it later but been distracted)

EDIT: to the post above me that’s cause no one wants that crude in this game other then WoW players and other baddies people here like to have fun kill people and do so in style/skill not from stats if you have such a problem with this then play another game or get use to it.On a Technical side please refer to my post on logical analysis system and how hard it can be to add to a game or look into making one yourself and realizing how much trouble it can be.

Rewarding scouting isn’t hard its done all the time in FPS games planetside 2,battlefield 3 etc. but the sheer amount of programming and math needed for new systems like this and logical analysis systems is a bit out of the question unless included in a fairly hefty update anyone can jot down a idea but putting it into motion is another thing.

This thread killed a good 2% of my brain cells.

1. Get out now,no nope never nadda hell no should there ever be any form of stat increase from anything you can leave and never be missed stop you whining.

2. The is already a ranking system for WvW that gives title for doing X of X like caps,escorts,kills,etc

3. I wouldn’t mind a title/player rank based off K/D,Caps,Revives,etc(all things supporting in WvW map yadda yadda. But by no means does it bother me I play for fun and to kill people not to “be better or have better or look better or etc” then someone else not that doing in style isn’t bad.

4. It would be nice to have more support related rewards(siege weapons in back healing reviving etc then there is as I don’t get anything from scouting other then PVP kills)

This game has to much build and player skill viable’s to say witch is fastest in all truth. Every player will have a different play style and experience with each class as most all have scouting builds for different things.

As a scout/caper I can out run any Thief with both my Ele and my Engineer,Ele alone with perma air swiftness rune swiftness and passive speed I have yet to be caught when scouting. My engineer running with perma swiftness in combat speed bonus rune bonus and out of combat bonus with the attack and HP to take down any 1-2 classes or another scout 1v1 plus bonus solo caping ability.the speed is fine to chase any thief(not as fast as pure marathon ele)but I have in combat speed bonus and can keep whoever I’m chasing in combat(thus making them slower and me faster)I haven’t had anyone get away from me yet thought a good week of 6 hour scouting.

there was a decent thief that managed to get right outside the uppermost keep(server keep) before I killed him outside the archway in front of the guards(felt kinda bad T.T)but he was slightly slower then me still he made good use of stealth and 50% fall dmg.

TL:DR Ele,Thief,Engineer are the same speed overall when set up right each with a strong point.
Engineer is great counter scout and solo caper/distraction.
Thief is great scout for all fields with the stealth for get a ways and easier to play in case of a encounter in a fight and simple scouting builds.
Ele is a great supply runner scout with group swiftness/100% solo swiftness and ride the lighting burst speed but more on the squishie side.

The Female Orrian Medium set dye is offset to there corresponding location on the chest piece refer to he attachment. This only affects Female set as the Male set looks fine.

The Female Chest for Orrian Medium armor is currently bugged not in a bad manor but in such away my OCD is killing me when having 3 dyes applied its clear as day the Female Chest dyes are uneven and do not match there location to the armor please refer to attachment this is only effecting the Female set the Male set looks/works fine.

Its not a heart as we see it its a heart shaped organ that serves as a mental thing as being plants there whole body is basically a heart as sap just flows. More or less you answered you own question with the “my heats beating so fast” as a show of emotion.

A lot of this has been answered in-game,

1. The sylvari view there sex both “I am a sylvari” and by gender depending on the emotional role as when in love they will proclaim as Sylvari and refer to outsiders there lovers gender in a statement but for as far as they care they are simply a being much as a plant is just a plant(even tho plants in real life also have male female sexes but that’s a whole another subject)

2. and 4.
The Sylvari’s are based off a human skeleton and form( largely do to being grown from a graveyard) and do have lungs and breath and even a heart(much different then a humans as its for the use of sap like blood) and other human organs that have been adapted for more plant like use and are required to eat and sleep to retain energy.They do not have a heart pulse as there’s is more in place as a mental thing as there whole body simple has a very light flow of sap like fluid.
There’s a Sylvari in one of the 70 zones that states hes been injured badly but his blood/sap has closed the wound and he will be fine(would love to see art work on this) much like a tree would. Ree has also stated there eating is much like a way a planet gathers sunlight but in a humanoid form.An inquest log says there there lungs are like a cotton bag and there heart was like a rooted seed and then goes on about there need more subjects….

3.There height is linked to there bone structure(this is a hard one has it is bone like but no sylvari has ever really lost a limb and there no mention on it anywhere that I have found) so I doubt that can be changed but there weight is a good question as there’s real big example of what all they can do with there powers in the growing area.There blood is like sap and can close the wounds so healing come rather quick there bones if anything would be a hallowed stiff root like substance that carries all there planty bits around so I wouldn’t doubt they could in time regrow a arm with medical help or form a sap/stump like cap without medical help

I don’t know how many times I have to repeat this. ANet making a playable race an agent of the bad guys is not a good idea, will never be a good idea, and would only wreck the game and it’s balance if it ever comes to pass. A game company is not going to shoot itself in the foot like that.

I don’t know how many times i got invalidate this but JUST cause they are revealed to be of dragons spawn would not make them a agent of the bad guys and would not instantly dub them evil or wreck the game yadda yadda.

“Oh noes the syvlari where made by dragons” “o well there not under the influence of the dragons and are good so whats it matter” “that’s right! Lets keep killing dragons with them cause hey there not evil there good like Glint!”

The Pale tree is simply a guardian/medium for sylvary to talk to the Real Tree and nothing more(like a human manifestation of the tree) they are not nature and there’s more then one tree stated there’s 4 known trees 3 are grown 1 is growing and a 5th Cave that contains the seeds them self and possibly even a small group of cave guardians.

It is Fact they cant be corrupted by a dragons touch(a trait only unique to dragons minions) the Nightmare is a form of self corruption from hatred,pain,etc(think jedi and sith starwars stuff).

As it stands there’s more Facts supporting the Elder dragon theory and this

In that case, rather than the Sylvari coming from Elder Dragons, the Elder Dragons could be seen as coming from the source of the Dream. As they attempt to twist it to their own purposes, the Pale Tree attempts to preserve it.

This also ties in nicely with the human gods themselves, since they also could have merely been beings who previously tapped into these same underlying power-currents. As the Dragons rose and began exerting their influence others who were previously using this power have waned.

In all seriousness Mass effect music was generic for a space game(OPINION) and most fantasy games have very generic music to there corresponding genre the music and both TES:III-V and in Guild Wars fit the scenes very well compared to others (OPINION) and I find nothing wrong with this.As this is a post simple to incite a debate or argument and if I could I would rather lock or see this locked.

No one knows the age of the seeds or the dragons and this is turning more into who has read all the current lore and who has not and who disagrees with that current lore if they have or have not even read it…

Sylvari cannot be corrupted by the Dragons, they simply die and rot away if they’re infected by it. That doesn’t sound like something an Elder dragon would want in his minions, I do suspect Sylvari emergence is linked to the Dragons. I like the idea of Tyria creating natural defenders, and hope they don’t deviate from that.

The Elder dragons can not control or corrupt champions or spawn of other Elder dragons they are just as much enemy’s to each other as they are to us making the Sylvari prime race to fight both the dragons and other races of the game. If I was a Elder Dragon that would be the best thing for my minions(no one wants there minions to come back to fight them)

Like c’mon people, why would they let us play a race that’s going to be an enemy sooner or later? That will put all the other races of Tyria into a dilemma, do they have to kill all sylvari and all pale trees since there’s proof that they were breeds or offsprings of an ED?

So no.

I’ll give you guys a + if you change your theory that one particular pale tree was being manipulated and deceived (or is in the process), but saying sylvari as a whole and the pale trees are offspring or whatever of an ED or his minions can not and will never fly.

Just look at WoW, they have to create a huge lore to support why there are playable undead race – the Forsaken, a splintered group. The splintered sylvari group or a corrupted pale tree may fit, but never the current “theory”.

This is silly for one the is plenty of supporting Lore that the spawn and or dragons control can be broken as Glint was a prime example also even if the Sylvari where made from a Elder dragon there would be no reason behind fighting them as they are not controlled by one and have free spirit and the Pale tree has nothing to do with this as there’s more then one group of sylvari each with very different from the last (no plae tree no dream no etc).

Would help if more people read and followed in-game lore and stop comparing anything related to Guild Wars Lore to WoWs

As stated in more then one transcript and Lore has stated this as well based of Guild Wars beliefs/science a Dragons spawn can easily be born free from the dragons will or become freed and turn against the Dragon who created them/it as proven with Glint and work done by Snaff and even the forgotten.

Witch as the creation of the Seeds within said Cave no one knows anything about its very very easy to fallow this theory(witch is stated even more so in-game by NPC) making it almost fact(think about the 99.9% likely hood that tengu will be in upcoming chapter)

TL:DR Sylvari was created by a elder dragon but was broken free from the dragons will be for they could form(possibly by Ventari’s Tablet)or other unknown source and scattering there seeds from within a cave(more then one Sylvari city is known atm 4 are known 1.Tarnished coast(player sylvari) 2. Magus Falls 3.Maguum waste 4.Magical cave and guardians of said cave(unknown location)Thus have cant not be effected by the Dragons touch but retain vast knowledge of the land(again by humans and Ventari’s Tablet)and even passably by the Elder Dragon who created them itself(think of it like Pandora’s box,they want to find there origin as much as the Inquest does).

For tho’s who hate the dragon theory so much,Fact 1.they where created by magic extremely close to that of a Elder dragon by what when and how is unknown but both Asura and Inquest beleave it to be by a Elder dragon itself stated by Illushia.3721 they do jump to conclusions a lot,but they do share the same magic(even if it was purified by the tablet or other source, thus masking it from the pure elder drgaons magic) Fact 2. There is more then one Sylvari Culture and Pale trees/cities The Dream and Nightmare and Current Pale tree have nothing to do with the theory’s as there not shared by other Sylvari(the magic they com form is shared)

Note* Pale trees have nothing to do with the Sylvari race other then as a guardian of the spawning tree and bares no relation to being a champion as the seeds where created be for the trees by a unknown source.

The Inquest would be even more suspect as they have no qualms about doing anything to achieve their ends. Up to and including misleading others to throw them off of their trail.

Just because the magical signature is similar though doesn’t mean they’re dragon spawn. It could just be similar magic involved.

That goes back to what I was saying the events and the magic used to create the seeds of the pale trees is unknown but its related to the Dragons magic be from a dragon its self or a outside source.

The Inquest would no more on the subject as they gone as far as dissecting them but being hostile there’s not many you can talk to sadly and very little in-game objects to talk to from them.There magical signature tho is similar to the elder dragons and they are resistant to the dragons touch(as far as Zhatian goes)making them the only other being to resist it other then the already undead.(and the stone Dwarfs)

I haven’t looked into the sylvari weapons and armor to much more inclined to there race but based off there magically enhanced vines(Including the Asura enhanced ones found later in-game) it could be the same sap like substance within them as one of the NPC (forget what outpost) states anything that comes close to the vines will be impaled

Like a mold able store-able crystalline sap or sorts related to the gems seen in the weapons.That would be completely debatable as I don’t pay to much mind to there engineering as much as I do to there biology.

I know you where but the silly argument isn’t the point the point is what the in-game NPC have said. last I checked a in-game NPC may as where be all the proof someone should need being created by the devs them self unless one of them got bored and did it just to mess with the players.

And being created by the dragons means nothing about being related as the Asura have found no Sylvari has even high or hair of being under any dragons impression. witch goes back to the Inquest theory on how old the race truly is as the seeds to form a pale tree could have been made long be for the waking the the current “evil” elder dragons or even made from the dragons from a outside event as far as we know there’s a cave full of magical seeds that spread across the world and created pale trees(such as the Maguum falls Sylvari that have nothing to do with the “Dream” and have free will)

so as it stands unless some who worked on the sylvari comments on the subject(witch other then in-game npcs probably wont happen as it would be a spoiler of all sorts of lore/story/future plans/etc)we can only gather what NPC in-game have said.

The top inquest and asura scientist in-game have proven it also the dream and graveyard are both illogical as there’s other sylvari city’s that have nether also proven in-game by both story and other NPCs.

The Inquest and asura are both highly interest in the sylvari for that reason and have been sence there awaking and even gone as far to prove there magical flow is related to that of a dragons magical energy and thus why the sylvari structure’s later near the end of the current chapter/story have been infused with asura magic and technology with little effort.

I would suggest going through and talking to NPCs across Inquest asure and sylvari zones and late game zones and gathering some of the lore given to us along with reading books/etc in said zones.

The Sylvari where made from a Elder Dragon what and how and maybe even when we do not know both the Asura and the Inquest have done test and looked into it tho.(even gone as far as dissecting them) They are the only Race that is resistant to the corruption of a elder dragon(only tho’s made/from/spawn/etc of another elder dragon have this trait)

The story around the unknown Sylvari is a big one not only does it confirm more then one tree it also plays into more then one lore behind each tree as the “dream” and the “nightmare” that haunts tarnished coast Sylvari.There is little info on the Nightmare to have the lore on where and how it manifested.

With such wide lore/story openings and the Maguuma falls Sylvari born without a dream and with free will that is another large topic that may come into play with a later chapter alongside the Tengu and other instances.And even alowing them to add other trees within the same story.

Without a solid post by the Devs tho this will most likely be debated but that’s doubtful as it would spoiler future plans and other subjects

Based off the Lore the Sylvari are born from a graveyard of Human corpse so giving that there body structure and such would be formed around the skeletons of dead Humans the magical plant like tissue that forms them is rather advance but they have many question in-game from asura as much as they do from players one is they are naturally resistant to the touch of a dragon(they cant be corrupted) and as far as the other races are aware only tho’s created by a elder dragon are resistant to a elder dragon.

Based off how trees and plants are they could live well into 200~ years and simple grow stiffer like older oak trees.

They do have sap as blood much like plants its even been stated in-game by a NPC that it will harden and seal the wound.

There organs are much like a humans in the form of a tree/plant a heart to pump sap lungs(much like cotton sacks) that can inhale and exhale to allow them to breath(wasn’t stated from all that I’ve read but do to being formed from the corpse of humans they use oxygen)

The asura and inquest have allot of ideas/theory’s on this and the sylvari housing and such(shown later in-game that there buildings and structures can be infused with asuran magic and technology)

As a traveling sylvari i talk to alot of npcs x.X

stop that being 80 myself,in exotic and rare gear low level zones are still fun.Why? because the creatures of the game still put up a fight and still attack me with full fury sure its easier with my traits and gear but its what makes the game fun and better then other MMOs. I cant just spend 5 mins in a low zone like god and burn out all the events and exploring like I would in another MMO

TL:DR If you want to be a god go play a different game.

This thread really made me feel lucky for both my OEM/home built Desktop and laptop(yes a OEM home built laptop they are out there and they are great) my Desktop 3,8ghz 2600k 8gb 1600 with GTX570 runs the game WvW/Raid events 80 FPS stable with max settings suple-sample no tearing no vsync using the last WHQL driver for the 570s(seem like one of the few cards that is super optimized) and my laptop useing 3610QM 3.4ghz 16gb 1800mhz GTX670M runs at 55-65 max setting native sampleing and no vsync in same events/WvW (50fps stable with super sampling).

This talk of alienware is silly stop it.there 30-35% more costly with generic brand parts.
so far about the only one I can agree with in this thread is Rolo as he seems to have it under control from one electronics engineer student to one Electronics Engineer I’m let him handle it(other then that rather indecent FPS and so forth from his page 1 post but between GW2 and geforce drivers that’s going to change between everyone set up) ~

where there’s you problem anyways the Twilight Great sword is THE HARDEST TO OBTAIN LEGENDARY OF THE WHOLE GAME as it has been stated you need both the dawn an the dusk legendary great swords just to craft it(didn’t you watch the dev blog on it and the rainbow shooting unicorn bow?) for it to be the hardest in the game this is completely fair if it was easy to get it would be no fun

This thread is silly the travel cost are fine I travel all the time to help people sense I’m 80 and never drop below 1 gold from managing my drops for cash crafting and running exploreable instances the cash flow is fairly even spending 3s a way point isnt bad at all as I make 40 silver within the way points zone with people out there having 50g plus this is not a problem for most players other then tho’s that toss cash at things.

(from77-80 i was traveling with a pocket of 27 silver from buying all exotic earings/rings/ect) Maybe stay in a zone longer then 5 mins and you make cash running a exploreable instances yields plenty for daily travel cash.

tl:dl why cant I have 10000g I wanna be rich, cause you bad with money and item management

I don’t mean to be a put down or anything but this problem is user/player error and sadly its always the talkative players that complain tho most on forums while tho’s who don’t have problems hardly post.

I build custom Desktops as a hobby and the fact you title yourself PC enthusiast and over clocker while using a Alien-ware is degrading on the other hand decent list of helpful stuff but would be better with links and post to how-to’s and wider range of subjects other then clean PC, cool PC, and less programs…

Running 3rd party software like Gamebooster is simple for the people without major PC experience and shutdowns all auto update features rather easily without getting into MSconfig. Google is always a good friend for performance related topics and walk though and major forums have plenty of guides.

Gambling is allowed though In-game NPC 2 that I know of one a Charr in ashlands that will gamble with the player for 10-50 silver/copper (forget witch) and another in Lions Arch Moa Race’s outside Gambling from player to player tho would fall under terms of Scamming and should be avoided as between false scam reports and legit ones give’s Anet more work for something that’s a bad habit so I would advise to maybe stick to the In-game methods.
