Reducing population cap does nothing to address the mechanics of the game that have led to zergs becoming de rigueur.
If we want zerging reduced, there needs to be changes to the rewards structure, not just around capping, but around every event type in WvW (defence, upgrading, escorting etc).
You can’t just address the symptoms, you need to address the cause.
I’m running a 660Ti currently and haven’t had any issues. I’m hesitant to purchase any further upgrades before the end of 2014 (star citizen will be my next upgrade milestone).
Thanks for the help, I’ll browse the SLI threads and see what they say.
I’m thinking about grabbing an ultra widescreen monitor shortly. I’ve searched the forums and can’t find anything about how GW2 works on a 21:9 monitor at 2560 × 1080 resolution.
Any help or info would be appreciated.
Force respawn at nearest WP after a 30 second timer, WvW only. Fixed and done.
It would certainly help with the stupid dead mesmer at watergate tactic, although calling it a tactic is being generous.
Funny, my siege fired Christmas themed projectiles. I lol’d hard at a Christmas wrapped boulder smacking into a zerg outside a gate.
Made me feel like Santa
“Take your presents kittenes!!”
Before discussing how we can link PvE and WvW, I’d ask “Why should there be a link between PvE and WvW?”.
Give us as a community some compelling reasons that this is a good idea, something that would add to both styles of play.
edit: typo
The reason immobilize is powerful is because of Epidemic (Necro) which allows it to stack the condition repeatedly on a extremely short CD utility. Because you know, there are no Necros in zerg WvW that basically spam Corrupt Boon/Epidemic utilities with unblockable 1200 ranges.
Epidemic does not reset the timer on Immobilise, it transfers with what time is left. With the cast time on epidemic, based on a 4 second immobilise, you’re looking at 2-3 seconds, assuming the cast timing of epidemic is perfect. If it’s not, based on a 4 second immobilise, you’re looking at 1-2 seconds.
So while I agree that necro’s can make immobilise more difficult to counter, I disgree that it is “the reason immobilise is so powerful”.
Try FC. Yes we’re a much lower pop server than either TC or Blackgate, but we have a strong Aussie presence (I’m part of Bloody Swagmen and EDGE). We do a lot of WvW, guild missions, map completion, a world boss train each day etc.
Good luck wherever you land.
In the last 6 months or so I have spent a lot of time running with WZ, EDGE, BS, LION, and others in WvW. I’ve met some amazing people and had a lot of fun making our presence felt across the borderlands. There has been no shortage of help offered when needed, whether it be advice or partying up to help out in a tough situation.
It’s great to see this initiative on the forums. Hope you all enjoy the break between Leagues and come back keen for more.
The current monthly achievements are not truly monthly. For the most part they are done in a very short timeframe, more like a long-weekender.
I’ve given this some thought and have the following suggestion.
Award the achievement at the end of the calendar month, basing the reward on the number of achievements completed, using a tiered reward system.
For example, for the month of December, 10 categories of achievement are offered. If you complete all 10 before the end of the month, you get the top tier reward, tier 10. (I am specifically not discussing what the reward would be, that’s a conversation for another day). If you complete nine of the categories, the reward is tier 9 etc etc.
This makes for a truly month long opportunity for players, and gives Anet the chance to make the Monthly rewards more rewarding, literally and figuratively.
What categories of achievement would be worth adding? Surely there’s something you’ve wanted added to the achievement list?
