I was only aware they dropped out of the “cage” bosses and the toad.. They can be in the normal chests?

Never been to sound cloud before.. Just clicked the download button on the theme, and exported the stupid 70mb wav format to a 4mb m4a file, from there.. I can do whatever i want with it.

Then again I’m a Mac guy, conversion is built in. For the PC sufferers.. you have to find 3rd party software to convert it, then chop it up how you want it.

Even Dulfy has posts showing that there are 5, 7, or 8 baubles inside the worm.. seems to be random for everyone. I had 7.. others show in vids of both 5 and 8.

Any chance someone could link a current build for GS/Staff? every one of the links here are bad..

I don’t play as much as I would like, but when I do play Thief.. I do P/P.
why? simple, FUN. (D/D is my other load out though)

I play my Ranger with a Longbow instead of Shortbow. I like the LB attacks, the DPS of the SB though.. Just hoping the devs fix LB at some point.
I play my Guardian with 2H sword, and Mace/Torch. why? once again, FUN.
I play my Warrior with Rifle and Bow, not 2H Sword…

As Long as a player (me or anyone else) is not detrimental to the group, I don’t care what weapons/build you use. Of course “Detrimental” will have different definitions by just about everyone..

GW2 is not WoW. there are too many people that want GW2 to play just like WoW, you see it in their posts (this class=this build only, or you’ll be kicked)

I play the game for fun, I don’t care for speed runs in groups. I like to enjoy everything not speed through and then complain about “nothing to do”

Game has been out since end of August, I have 8 character slots (one for each class) and still not a single 80… And I’m still having fun.

Outside wanting a Title for completing it, I loved every aspect of the puzzle.

candy corn mining, IMO don’t put it in the WvW areas.. everywhere else was fine.

I ended up finishing it up on all my characters last night (8 total) and did my charr last. I did it on the first or second try on the last 3 or 4 except for my charr, which took like 10-12. I busted my face on that stupid beam after the little white block like 6 times before I finally got the hang of it and then the first couple of times, shorted the jump to the last set of stairs.

And that’s with everyone being nice, I can’t imagine what it was like doing it with people raging at me for having the gall to not make a human.

I found it easier on my Charr characters. In fact I farm it with my Charr :P

When people were yelling at me, offering me money to not run… I made a bet with them.
I would intentionally fail the puzzle by not even moving when it started… And I bet that they would STILL fail the puzzle.

everyone failed without a single Charr “in their way”…
did it for 3 runs, nobody beat it. then I went back to farming it as usual.

the Norn/Charr attacks…. LEARN to tune out everyone else in the beginning.
i’ve done it on my Asura and Human alts with born/charr hiding me… it doesn’t effect the puzzle. And besides after that first choke point, most people fall.
Quit looking at everyone else. the puzzle is all you need to watch.

granted when someone puts a wall of text up right at that first choke point… all bets are off. lol
(That is more annoying and in the way than ANY Norn/Charr ever could be)

It took me 40 mins for the first time, and I spent 6 hours to do it 100+ times. (Considering the first 40 mins) Including some tries to get all the chests and random things like that. (It seems to be impossible to get all the chests tho. At least without any buff. The second chest is far off the way.)
Anyway, it’s the best JP so far, and the most fun thing on all the game for me. (That’s why I spent so much time clearing it again and again. xD)

I get the 2nd chest all the time. the one at the top though.. I don’t even try for it.
you can double tap F to get the bags. then just move to stop the animation, no need to stay there the whole time.

At first, I was cussing out the screen… scared my dog multiple times… cussing out ANet etc.

then I beat it.

now I farm it :P
I can’t even remember how many Bags I have now.. multiple stacks of 250. I love hearing all the complaints about the puzzle, it’s easy… people making excuses for their failures
it’s not Norn are too big.
it’s not Charr are too big.
it’s not that there are 10 others with you. (once you get past the first choke point, it’s EASY)

I don’t even look at my character in the first sections. thats where most people fail… Distracted by the others jumping.

second, try this.
you know when you climb the first set of stairs and have to wait for the rubble to fall? where everyone bunches up?
when the stuff falls, wait.
be the last guy to go and you can see everything. soon after that, most people fall and you are all by yourself.

granted if you wait too long, or get hung up along the way, you may get swallowed up by the slime..
the puzzle is frustrating i’ll agree, but once you do it once… it gets a lot easier. and fun :P

I did it all.

Tower puzzle of EPIC frustration on all 8 of my characters.

Farmed the Tower for a bit, waiting for part 4 tomorrow I may farm some more tonight.

It pays off when you see someone dodge roll off the last jump

found the Charr were actually easier for me, which is odd cause they tend to be the worst at jumping puzzles (for me anyway) So i farmed with the Charr for awhile.

Gotta say, it took me forever to beat it once… NOT an easy puzzle. but once I did beat it, it’s grew on me.
Some complain that the puzzle is impossible to do with huge charr/norn in their way… (people even offered to pay me to leave lol) BS. I stayed behind and let people do the puzzle without me on my Charr…. they still failed.

People are focusing on everything else, except what they should be focusing on… the puzzle. It’s hard.. until you beat it, then it’s fun!

Well I just ran AC and did not gain LF a single time while in DS. While I was still getting the green globes it was not filling my LF bar at all. I had no conditions/taking damage at the time of kills to negate the gain.

On every boss and some trash I made sure I had around 50% LF when mobs died. I popped DS a few seconds before they would die and gained nothing. The only gains i got were from traits and sigil. Kind of a let down but guess I answered my own question.

just tossing out a thought here.. maybe there is an internal cool down we can’t see?
can’t gain LF after switching into DS for a bit.
I haven’t looked at my LF meter that closely in a while to notice though.

Muscle memory may not be the best description.

so used to pressing one button without looking when I want a certain skill, now it’s changed.. so it takes some time to learn the change.

HUGE difference between TAB and clicking every skill on a hot bar…

errrr if your using skills from muscle memory. Just change your key bindings. It won’t make any differene then would it.

problem is… there are 8 classes.
so change key binds for 1, too much of a pain in the kitten to have the change only effect 1 character and not the others.

I have been gone 3-4 days as well…
it’s not as bad as I first feared though, maybe cause I am not 80 on the guardian yet.

it will be a non-issue eventually… but getting to that point I will be hitting the wrong key bind for weeks.

if u click, you came up in the UO, DAoC generation.. and thus clickers are BETTER pvpers than mouse turner circle straife kids who came up thinking final fantasy 7 was a good rpg and that WoW is the mother of all mmos.

I came up in DAoC. Clickers are EASILY the second worst in PvP. (worst being total noobs)
and you probably use a standard keyboard and a basic mouse and think you’re great! Good for you…

Prove me wrong, go ahead and tell me that clicking a button, moving the mouse to the desired area on screen… and then clicking the mouse again to drop that AOE targeting recticle is faster than a SINGLE finger press.

yeah… cause in WvWvW, when you are fighting player A… and Rifle Warrior B off screen fires off Kill Shot. you saw him right?

if you are talking 1v1 you have a point, but even then it can be done. in WvWvW… or even SPvP 1v1 almost never happens. So we can pick our target and pick you off before you even know where the kill shot was coming from.
You dodge that Guardian you are fighting, and since you didn’t see me come around the corner, and I saw you dodge twice and have no endurance left… I fire Kill Shot and drop you.

Black citadel is EASY.
Rata Sum isn’t bad.
Grove annoys me.
Div Reach isn’t bad, but lots of running
Hoelbrak is annoying due to it’s size.
Lion’s arch is just huge, most are easy to complete.

Builds made with the above, always work for linking.. I personally like guild head much better than the rest. (probably other skills calls out there, these are the ones I see/use the most)

I go back and forth between rifle/LB myself. Just trying to figure my build so I can have ranged and melee without having to change much. I don’t want to use GS as the melee weapon, thinking maybe dual Axe.

But.. going back to my first point, I never see any Rifle/LB builds linked. Just people saying they use Rifle/LB and like it.

If you were a hunter, you’d know that a Rifle is a FAR more reliable weapon.
Bow hunting is a longer season cause it’s harder to be successful. (an most people can’t shoot a bow) Rifle you can hit your target from a long way off, before the animal can ever smell/hear you, bow… inside 60 yards. LONG after they can hear/smell you. and as someone pointed out earlier, after the first shot… odds are you will NOT get a 2nd shot.
This isn’t the movies where a bow is so silent that nobody hears it… there IS sound and you CAN hear it from farther than you’d think. and animals have better hearing than humans.

Caution… They are long video’s (50 minutes for some) but they are worth watching. Part 1 is the weapon skills Mesmer gets, how the skills work and how to use them together.

He’s right. I see no issues that YOU complain about…. maybe it has something to do with your understanding of the class.

As another Mesmer pointed out in his video’s, there are those that complain and THINK the class is broken… and then there are those that PROVE the class is fine.

Mesmer is NOT a simple class, most people want Mesmer to play THEIR way instead of playing it how it’s MEANT to be played. once you figure that out.. you will play Mesmer better.

the first ones quite long but i found them very interesting.
i’m currently lvl 36 and enjoying Mesmer more than ever.

The 3 video’s by this guy…. THE best on the class IMO.

He goes through every skill, every weapon etc. and doesn’t show a lot of bias for/against the skills, a little on some.. but for the most part tells you how to use each skill effectively.
So many class vids concentrate on certain skills, and either skip or mention others in passing cause the author doesn’t like or use them. This guy goes into detail on every skill, how it’s best used etc. The vids are good for ALL builds of Mesmer, not just a certain build.

Highly recommend the 3 videos. yeah… they are long, but worth the time. grab a snack, and prepare to take notes. (i did… a lot) 2 50 minute vids, and a 24 min vid.

Just watching his explanation of the skills made me rethink my build. I have always wanted to play Mesmer, but every time i do i got bored/frustrated cause I didn’t fully understand the class. (it is an advanced class IMO)

IMO a link to the vids should be in a sticky here.

Edit: you can skip the first one, or use the direct links in the descriptions if you want. It’s mainly the weapon skills etc. Informative if you are new to the class, it can me basic knowledge to you if you play Mesmer already though.
