Honestly haven’t had an issue fighting well….anything condi (at least in small scale) for a long time, even condition chrono’s. Have you tried running with brawlers? not a huge sacrafise, presuming you run discipline. I don’t fully understand how you can have so much trouble with stam sig being rupt when it’s on a 1/4 cast time either.

whatever happen to runes of the defender + shield, not a thing anymore?
this is the last build i was running months ago, is it any good?

Im guessing you weren’t around the time they buffed adrenal, healing isn’t rally an issue anymore. Majority of warriors have dropped most runes in favour for durability bc of the boon%, toughness, prot and resistance procs.

I carry around several sets of armor and weapons just so i can adapt to what im fighting on the fly, ie: in a situation where im heavily outnumbered i can just whack on marauder + durability for more armor and a higher hp pool, + the passive prot and resistance procs are great in those situations. It’s just better to be flexible and adapt to what you’re fighting :p.

For the jack of all trades set…honestly berserker / marauder with durability runes is just too good at the moment, i tend to shy away from the set as often as i can and run full berserker with strength runes but it just doesn’t come close in outmanned fights imo (if that’s what you’re looking for of course).

I am looking for a single set of armour that does well in outmanned fights and which fits to a casual warrior (I am not as skillful as you are). Is there a huge difference between berserker/dura + berserker trinkets and marauder/dura + berserker trinkets? What would you recommend to me?

There’s no real difference damage wise (you’d lose 60 power and 10 ferocity with marauder but gain 180 armor , 3% crit and roughly 2k hp when compared to berserker.) So between the two i’d go marauder.

Glad to see some vanilla power warrior, happy to get a glimpse back at hammer warrior… Each time I reequip my hammer, it lasts 10 minutes, then I give up… stability and blocks are way too cheap now

Cheers man!, yeah past week or so iv’e been running hammer quite often, nothing like the old ham / gs days buy hey nice to relive some old builds now and then x). Only real issue iv’e come across is vs retribution revs (stab on dodge + eye for an eye etc) thing is a straight up hard counter but ohh well ¯\( )/¯ glad you enjoyed!.

I still don’t understand why i allow myself to get disappointed with how this “development” team goes about things. Time after time you implement / change nothing that actually appeals to the hardcore reliable players who played / play this game mode. Always catering to the casual players that like to run around in blobs pressing 1 focusing on ppt “server pride”….i mean i can see the thought process “lets implement something that makes it looks like we’re actually trying to improve this gamemode…i know….MORE SIEGE”. I guess that’s the only playerbase that you can cater to these days huh.

Core a/s gs will always be #1 for me, although i do enjoy running the sword build pretty often lately. Durability runes are still pretty crazy, even with the damage output compared to pack / strength being lower.

Build 3 in the description shows STR/DEF/ZER trait lines, looks like a mistake to me. I don’t see you fighting with that setup in the video, plus no Discipline in a power build is asking for a quick death in my view. However, I acknowledge you’re a strong player, so if you really have footage of it, I’d love to see it and learn from it.

Thanks man!. Aye that’s a mistake on my part, disc should be where the strength line is. Uploading at 4 am isn’t a good idea it seems x). I do have some old strength / def / zerker footage but to be honest it isn’t anything special, every outnumbered fight is slow and not very interesting to watch imo…maybe in the future i’ll return to the build and try to get some decent footage.

I ran the core build in earnest on my new asura warrior. And I don’t think it ideal at all for damage, but I’m having a ton of fun on it on the asura. Dodging all the time and always in the air doing acrobatics is satisfying especially with my build alterations to be more roamer/mobile.

I switched bull rush for endure pain….I’m still pretty adamant on endure pain not being needed/optimal (If im heavy zerg fighting or defending an objective ill sub it back obv). i love bull rush atm….so much funs with that 3 second stun and shorter cd. And I stick to sword/shield with heightened focus same as you in the alt build. It’s a ton of fun. The lack of power from signet of might is definitely noticable make no mistake on that…so is the lack of power from the food item. But its really really fun…expensive though to buy that food. 18s or so each…36s per hour of food uptime :/ Not like anyone plays wvsw expecting not to lose money tho haha.

gonna try and switch the sigil of energy to the sword/shield though. I think that will improve the stick and move uptime on the GS….making damage much better, and it frees a damage sigil spot on the gs so even better.
Do you or anyone on this thread have some opinions on the sigils i got here? What would be the best sigil combination given the build? Intent is same kind of fights u show in ur video.

I just want advice on the weapon sigils
I’ll have to do a bit of unnecessary cleave but I think freeing up bloodlust’s spot on the GS is worth the trouble given how little I die/get downed.

I’d run with intel and leeching on my sword shield set and stick with hydro energy on gs. You could swap out energy for air but apart from that i wouldn’t change anything.

Indeed it is common ethics to run whats normally acceptable and back then triple stance was used extensively.
I even have recordings vs exy, vaanns, wana all using the same traits i was using…if you had asked me to remove / change my build i would have done without questioning it np.

The one and only fight we’ve ever had was on 10/17/2015 over 6 months ago behind windmill, myself, Walk guildies and Cake guys were there dueling aswell. If i had lost a duel to a “one handed axe” warrior i would have probably quit the game there and then.

And as for the image…yeah i guess it doesn’t suit your humor and i can also see why you’d think it would be inappropriate given that we don’t know eachother, the same way i didn’t necessarily think what you were commenting was appropriate but assumed you’d be alright with such humor given what you were posting.

Agin…hopefully this clears things up a bit. Drama isn’t something im interested in.

Yes, the keyboard really helps in this regard. I play on a laptop, and my jump dodges were difficult to make before. I’ve now bought a separate mechanical keyboard, and it works everytime (plus it’s very comfortable to work/play with). Only caveat is that it’s expensive

Also I find it kind of odd the people you play with complain about a 6s unblockable and bloodlust stacks….. on a warrior of all thing…
Just….!?!?!!? lol. Whatever, I obviously do not care for these opinions!

The blood/corruption stacks is simply part of the dueling/GvG etiquette, from many years ago, so players abide to it whether it makes sense or not. However I don’t recall the Signet of Might being part of it, although I can understand if a warrior agrees not to use it when facing a guardian, as blocking is (was) part of their main mechanics.

Haven’t commented on the video yet, found it skillful and very enjoyable to watch, thanks for sharing!

And thanks!, Dragon hunters are hit and miss whether they let you run might sig or not, i’d say the majority of them aren’t bothered buy it but i take it off just to save hassle.

Im sorry you took my joke in reply to what you were spamming in the comment section to heart, i guess you’re not the type to take a joke( i actually took the “KANGAROOOO” etc spam as a joke and found it funny hence the imgur i spent a whole 30 secs making). I also stated that i record every single fight i have with Cake guys, alot of them are actually chill and decent guys but you…holy hell, your ego is so high that snoop dog couldn’t compete, you’ve never killed me with a “one handed axe” the only duel iv’e ever had with you was over 6 months ago and after you lost you refused to do anymore because i was running last stand….funny enough the next day you dueled my friend Nas on his power necro using the same traits…which we found quite hilarious btw. 1. Woops, the double power infusions on the earrings was an oversight on my part (created the build link on my phone…kittens hard to click), i run with +5 power and a +5 toughness infusion.
2. While im in combat it’s pretty easy to maintain 10-15 stacks of might which puts me into the 3k power threshold which i don’t see as a loss of damage potential. The furious stones add additional crit dmg and bring you over 2.5k armor which is a decent amount to cushion you.
3. Depending on what im fighting i’ll swap out stam sig for might but that’s really only against builds that i feel like it’s necessary. Quite often in duels dragon hunters etc will ask / complain about running might sig so over time i learned to play passively and wait for a window to open where said classes aren’t using blocks. For roaming and outnumbered fights i can’t justify dropping a 12 condition removal + passive endurance gain util for a 6s unblockable on a 25s cd.
4. The only other option i can think of is foefire’s essence xD, weapon skins that produce a flashy effect when unsheathing / have trails are what you want and im not sure there is a gs that has that under 500g.
5. I use shift as my “look back” key and Z as my stow weapon key.
6. All of my utilities (including heal) are bound to buttons on my mouse, my normal attacks are set as default.

8. I do play berserker, but after playing core warrior for almost 4 years it’s hard to move on…core is bae :p.
9. Endure pain is still necessary as a utility in this meta imo, in outmanned fights you can’t afford to run an offensive utility with the amount of damage coming your way (Unless you build for sustain which ultimatly lowers your damage). The new defy pain is defo an upgrade compared to how it previously functioned.
10. It’s unlikely that you’ll be running around with 25 bloodlust stacks on every engage, so air / force is a better option for damage imo. Also people see running stacks in duels as an advantage and often ask to remove them making the sigil redundant.
11. I have 3 ascended axes one of which runs with sigil of night :p.
12. With 70% crit chance and a sigil of intelligence the 6th bonus on daredevil is nullified. Strength is the best option for damage in prolonged fights with pack coming close behind.

Both stick and move and sigil of night are circumstantial, you’re not always going to be getting the 20%.
Even with so much endurance regen there are still windows where i can land a juicy arc slice / evis / whirl etc with the stick and move modifier, you just gotta time it right.

Energy on gs is just a personal preference, it allows me to pull off some unexpected dodges to bait out cds / land reckless dodges into skills ie Whirlwind / shield block for decent 2-3k+ hits.

Jumping maintains your out of combat movement speed while in combat, so you can effectively jump as far using a jump dodge as you would be able to if you did it while out of combat, that’s the only redeeming feature of jump dodging.

I enjoyed the video, personally.

While there are probably some dodges that could be saved (multiple dodges when stepping out of melee range), there’s almost always still one in the tank if needed. Keeping endurance below 100% is generally a good idea when playing a Strength warrior (+10% damage via Stick and Move), and playing such a high endurance regen build will require plenty of otherwise superfluous dodges.

As for extra weapon stows, I mean, what does it matter? There’s zero consequence to stowing weapons unnecessarily, unless cancelling out skills you actually want to execute. Didn’t see that here.

Thunder King, I still think you’d do better swapping your food for Golden Fried Dumplings. You don’t need the endurance regen from the food and, in fact, you’re not getting any of the benefit for more than 50% of the time anyway. Meanwhile, the dumplings would give you more might (more crits than dodges), help you maintain 25 stacks faster and longer (through both the boon buff and extra might), and it’d extend your vigor, fury, resistance, stability, and fury. Plus, it’s only 60% the cost of the food you’re using now.

Like i said when you asked about the food choice before, it’s purely down to having the 90% regen passively when combined with stam sig, when the stances proc (presuming i use both of them at the same time) i have 12s of 100% endurance regeneration. If i run with the dumplings i rely on the vigor from the stances to get me near what i run passively which also has the possibily to be stripped / corrupted / kited out till the boon has ended.
The boon duration and 33% chance on crit for might is obviously amazing to run (which i do often), but in this meta against the classes we fight nowadays, you’re not going to be standing around cleaving and benefiting from the additional might stacks…even though might stacking was never really an issue in the first place.
I guess it comes down to personal preference, i’ll still run dumplings when i feel like it’s more beneficial to what im fighting.

How exactly does it hide/skew animations? I don’t see what you’re talking about, the animations don’t look like they are being hidden or even skewed. I understand if you’re dodging to do damage, but a majority of your sick strategic dodge jumping was just random kitten ing which did not benefit at all to the fight. I guess I shouldn’t of skipped wurweror bwasics 101.

Simply put, the more animations your character displays when using a skill the harder it is for your opponent to process which skill you’re using / about to use, stowing when finishing or while using a skill produces this effect. As for for “sick strategic dodge jumping” once again…simply put, you travel further when combining the 2 skills and as for them being random… if im not dealing damage with the evades im either using them to evade skills / re positionbut hey, thats your opinion i guess. It really is quite obvious when you think about it…i guess skipping wurweor bwasics was a bad idea huh?, cheers for the input nonetheless.

Barely made it half way through. So much random jump dodging and weapon stowing, it hurts me brain guy.

90% perma endurance regeneration (100% when activating a stance) means i can use dodges offensively when not using them to avoid damage, if you payed attention at all you’d see the dodges i were using were hitting 2-3k + via reckless dodge, the jump dodges increase the distance you travel while simultaneously evading which is obviously useful for hitting targets just out of range. The weapon stowing is purely to hide / skew animations that are important to land…warrior basics really..

Honestly, i think it’s a lot better than the old Ds, with the old Ds there was a possibility for the passive to be bypassed if you take a burst higher than 25% of your hp. With the current / past meta the availability of high burst skills are high….so this is a decent change imo.

We’re generally happy with the offense and damage potential of the warrior, but survivability and durability in PvP have been observed to be lacking, even when defensive measures are taken. We’re looking to boost defense in areas where the warrior specializes in it. Stability-granting utilities have been refocused and reworked with the new stability cooldown specifically in mind, and the Defense line has gained significant increases. Within this line, Adrenal Health has been transformed from an adrenaline-holding minor trait into one that grants a much stronger healing effect when landing burst abilities.

Dual Shot: The damage of this skill has been increased by 33%.

Fan of Fire: Increased the burning duration from 2 seconds to 3 seconds. Physical damage has been increased by 10%.
Smoldering Arrow: The recharge time of this skill has been reduced from 15 seconds to 12 seconds.

Pin Down: The damage of this skill has been increased by 10%.

Eviscerate: Updated this skill to not be affected by movement-impeding effects.

Gun Flame: The physical damage of this skill has been reduced by 20%. Fixed an issue that allowed this skill to hit enemies twice. This skill no longer pierces but still delivers the area-of-effect attack. Fixed a bug that caused the tool tip to show a decrease in damage when the Burst Mastery trait was in use.

Dolyak Signet: The cooldown of this signet has been reduced from 60 seconds to 40 seconds.

Balanced Stance: This skill now periodically applies swiftness and two stacks of stability for 3 seconds every 3 seconds that the stance is active.

Throw Bolas: The cooldown of this skill has been reduced from 20 seconds to 16 seconds.

Kick: The cooldown of this skill has been reduced from 20 seconds to 12 seconds.

Bull’s Charge: Increased the knockdown duration from 2 seconds to 3 seconds.

Stomp: This skill is now ground targeted and will move the warrior from a distance of 450 to a target area. This skill now grants 1 stack of stability for 5 seconds per target struck in addition to its own initial stack of stability, which has been increased from 1 second to 5 seconds. The cooldown of this skill has been reduced from 45 seconds to 40 seconds.

Thick Skin: The health threshold of this trait has been decreased from 90% to 75%. The toughness this trait applies has been increased from a maximum of 120 to 180.

Dogged March: The regeneration duration applied by this trait has been increased from 3 seconds to 6 seconds.

Cull the Weak: Increased the health threshold for weakness application from 25% to 33%.

Defy Pain: The threshold for activating Endure Pain has been increased from 25% health to 50% health.

Quick Breathing: Increased the number of conditions removed on warhorn-skill use from 1 to 2.

Burst Mastery: Fixed a bug that prevented this trait from appropriately increasing damage.

Adrenal Health: This trait has been reworked. For each level of adrenaline spent, the warrior will gain an instance of Adrenal Health that will heal over the course of 15 seconds. This effect stacks up to 3 times.

Well well well bois, pulsing stab, 525 healing per tick for total of 7425 every 15s and a defy pain that can’t be bypassed when below 25%.

What do you think, is it enough to bring us back from the dark ages to compete with the big boys?. Personally the healing sound pretty nuts when paired with berserker f1 spam….we’ll see.

Found it had decent sustain and damage output. Traits, utils and sigils are obviously down to choice / based on what you’re fighting.

Eviscerate / Decapitate hitting through every skill that has an evade frame has been this way for weeks without any confirmation that the devs are even aware of it. A post was made on the Warrior sub forum 3 weeks ago.

Nice video mate! I haven’t said that in a long time.

I liked the music choices as well and props to the gameplay.

Although people might have trashed the way you played in the comment section/whispers, I noticed that you kite very well! There’s a difference between running away and kiting, and this was kiting for sure. If you’re NA, I’d be down for a duel. Hit me up anytime @S H A D O W F A L L in game.

Nice vid!

But you’ve over-invested in endurance regeneration. It caps out at 100%, and you have 50% from the signet (when you run it), 40% from your food, and 50% from the vigor you’re getting from stances. One of those should probably go (and I recommend swapping the stamina for might sig, but there are a lot of options).

Im aware endurance regen caps at 100%, also aware that when i use a stance i go over that cap when combined with last stand. The reasons for this are pretty simple really, last stand is the best option out of those 3 grandmasters when running as much condi clear and resistance as i do, although it brings the cap over 100% it still provides a free stab proc every 40 seconds and adds an additional 25% duration to my 2 stances (which is the primary reason to run it). Stamina signet provides an instant condition clear when berserker stance/ heal signet is on cooldown (which is a must when fighting outmanned in the current meta) along with the passive 50% regen. Might sig has it’s uses but honestly taking a util purely for a 6s unblockable window every 25s doesn’t compete with an instant condition clear + passive endurance…not for me atleast.

If you read the fake patch notes in context, you would realize two things:
1. Gaile Grey, the person who reads through all of the forums, posted the thread
2. Like some of the other updates, it was poking fun at things people say in those respective class forums

Sometimes, we like to say that our profession must be a bug because x part of it (or all of it) is terrible, and Gaile is just giving a shout out to the current misfit class. It can taken as a sign that Warrior buffs are on the horizon (That balance team hasn’t been in hibernation for the past 3 months) if viewed with optimism.

I did infact read the fake patch notes and i understand fully the what the intention / context is.

1. If Gaile Grey reads through “all” of the forums, how come we haven’t seen or heard from her or any developer for the past 7/ 8 months in regards to warriors current balance or….anything warrior related for that matter. There’s literally been 100’s of posts with suggestions / feedback with 0 exchange from the developers.

2. Yeah they took a jab at the other professions, (apart from ranger) but in regards to the warrior joke, they literally made fun of the classes balance issues in ranked pvp which is totally tasteless in the eyes of the people who play the class on a high level / take the class seriously. Whereas with the other professions they made a joke about how silly the idea would be if they had x and did x.

This means 2 things really:

1. They understand how badly warrior is currently balanced and made a joke about their own shortcomings with the class.
2. They threw out a joke without the intention of hitting home on said shortcomings.

I really hope that it’s not the latter, which would suggest that they’re still out of touch after all this time with their own game. And even if the joke was a intended as a laugh at themselves, is that appropriate? given how many people have quit due to these factors and more….

Honestly im not the type to whine and btch on the forums but it seriously urks people i know and myself that they seem to take these issues not very seriously.

She’s not a developer, so while she can point things out to the devs, she has no actual say in what happens inside that team. So it’s pointless to try to hold her responsible for something she has no control over.

It’s true that Gaile isn’t a developer and i by no means hold her responsible for the current balance state.. but her job title is displayed as a “ArenaNet Communications Manager” which implies, like you said, that she relays information / “points things out to the developers”…now if this is true and Gaile and the devs actually spend the time to troll through the forums and share relevant information between themselves, how come we’ve received 0 information / confirmation that they’re even aware of the current game state. Take Eviscerate for example…the skill has been bugged to land hits through any skill that has an evade frame and has been this way for almost 2 weeks with no confirmation that they’re even aware of it.

So you tell me if ArenaNet communication is actually being done here.

Indeed it is a joke, but a tasteless one none the less. They “joke” about warriors getting kills in ranked pvp. This suggests that they’re aware of how bad warrior’s / the general games balance is and have chosen to do nothing about it but have a laugh at our expense. Heck, the last time this sub forum saw a post from a dev was what? 8 months ago?. So yeah…it is just a joke/prank BRO, but they really should watch how many jokes they tell…they’re well on their way to becoming one themselves.

Lol, you guys really need to lighten up. Juba’s got it right.

Ordinarily, I’d have let it slide. While I don’t like the holiday myself, I’ve no problem letting others have their fun. The problem comes when, whereas the rest of the classes got a somewhat amusing joke about their mechanics and abilities, the bit with warriors was a direct potshot and insult to those who play the class, on top of the already poor relations between the community and the balance team. The joke was, at best, a tone-deaf attempt at humor and at worst a deliberate insult given circumstances.

The hundred blades bit? That was funny, because it conjures up an amusing image and is a play on one particular aspect of the class. The other class bits? Also funny. But give us a proper balance patch first, THEN you can make jokes about how a class has been dramatically underpowered since the expac launched. Else it’s easy enough to take it as laughing at players rather than laughing with them.

Although this was intended as a joke, it just feels quite tasteless to be honest….beating a dead horse almost. Im probably taking this to heart too easily but when the class you’ve mained since beta is being joked about (all be it on april fools) it’s current state, i can’t help but feel exasperated.

It is serious question. I didn’t play since August 2015 and now I came back just to see that hate from ppl about playing Warrior at WvW or PvP. He had several nerfs earlier( for example worker build nerf), but ppl managed to get on with it, yet now it seems he got some other nerf that I’m not aware of. So, can someone explain me what happened? I;m really curious cos I used to main Warrior, but I don’t see this big nerf that ppl keep talking about ;( .

Not much has changed for warriors as it stands since you last played the reason warriors are used less and less these days is because other classes have been over tuned since hot release.
It basically comes down to warriors being less useful versions of other classes (Revs, Dh, Guards). The roles warriors brought traditionally ie: snares, cc, rolling condition removal, healing via shouts and general cleave damage has been trumped by said classes, they simply have more reliable tools to do the job that warrior used to be great at.
