Necromancer minion do not attack when using scepter

Pretty much the title. When you use a scepter your minions just stand around and do nothing.

Since specialisations will likely lose out on something from the original class, maybe that loss is signets?

This would make the most sense – otherwise it is broken.

f skills probably wont be considered to be spells.

Doesn’t matter signet of illusions resets shatter skills.

  • Dodge Roll (can be replaced with decoy) + Mirror Images > 3 clones
  • Signet Of Illusions
  • F5 Shatter
  • Repeat and put spells in between you want to use infinitely

Can you provide the cool downs on all those skills? specially the shatter one.

The cooldowns don’t matter since they refresh except the shatter cooldown (because it won’t reset itself). But Signet Of illusion resets shatter and is refreshable by shatter.

Dissipation traits?

Crippling Dissipation and Debilitating Dissipation.
They seem never to activate. I played a reward track from 0 to 40 and have never seen them once activating. Are they bugged?

  • Quarterstaff (staff used in non-magical way; like with blades on each sides).
  • Polearms (halberds and pikes).
  • Great Axes (two handed axes).
  • Crossbows (one or two handed).
  • Nets (for underwater) or as Offhand (Gladiator Style).
  • Orbs/Spellbooks (for casters).
  • Claws/fist weapons (eg brass knuckles).
  • Scythes.
  • Whips (because a mesmer going into domination with a whip is poetry that writes itself).

You are doing it wrong. You clearly don’t know how to play effectively duo to your lack of playing the game or testing or maybe something else. It is doable to play in melee and it is rewarding when you are able to because you deal more damage than the others and you also have the chance to use cc immidietly without big travel / animation time.

TIPP: Don’t tank hits with your pure hp. Use Combofields to generate shields / regen / retaliation. Speak with your team so they can set these combo fields up.

Any response from ANet maybe? Are there plans to improve the combat behaviour / ui? I mean, having a UI that gives you the “most-perfect way of control” is a must-have for a competitive game like GW2 wants to be.

The only difference from how I am playing GW2 right now without any mods is:

  • I don’t have to hold right click all the time
  • The mouse changes to the middle position of the screen while rightclicking, so I don’t have to move it manually to that position before I start a fight. And I know where I will put AOE abilities on the ground even while I am using right click to move.
  • My Aoe Abilities are always casted at the crosshair position
  • fast targeted ground targeting on button release: While I hold the button I see the circle indicator. When I release the button, the spell goes off.

These are only some things, which would improve the combat significantly. I hope they will get addressed, because other competitive games like league of legends already have these features. (e.g. smart cast on button release is a hidden option and everybody plays with it)

Since the beginning of GW2 betas I suggested this system as secondary option in the options menu. This is just perfect.

Can we use it without getting banned? If not, do you guys please please please implement it?

I use longbow warrior with focus on the burst skill and I farm 10+ monsters at once with the burning condition on this burst skill. So the burning is applied to everyone in the aoe.

But I wasn’t checking for 2 weeks, maybe they changed it because longbow warrior was so strong?

Range > Melee: A suggestion to balance

Since range weapons have obvious advantages over melees, I have a suggestion, which would balance both.

There are 3 problems with melee and range:

1) range projectiles are always combo finishers, where as melee aren’t
2) range can more easily evade attacks on them because most aoe range attacks are seen as red circles while melees have to exactly look at the weapon swing of the monster, which is very hard when there are many effects on the field.
3) melees get the focus of the enemy more often and take more damage

I think Number 2 can’t really be addressed. Giving the melee players more information on the next attack would make aoe melee attacks too easy to avoid.

Number 1 and 3 can be fixed with giving melee swings (maybe only on the 3. swing) a combo finisher like the leap. For all who don’t know what kind of finishers leap gives, these are shields, retaliation, blindness, healing, everything which helps to stand in the danger zone longer.

Maybe you can come up with more ideas to help balance range and melee weapons.

Suggestion: LFG system/Dungeon finder?

Nonono! We don’t want this to become like WoW where there is no communication with this bad dungeon finder.

I would appreciate a ingame seperate chat that you can open by talking to a specific npc like the trading post. The chat itself contains channels for the dungeons and you can leave a message there or look for other players and people looking for players can see your message and whisper to you.

But please keep the communication!
