Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey personal stories

I actually had a quite funny conversation with my partner just a few days ago; I got LWS2 after HoT had come out, and he played through it with me… on his revenant. So we were trying to theorize ways that could have made sense lore-wise. In the end I decided he must “have been” a warrior or guardian at the time that, like many NPCs do, just used skills that his class isn’t know to use (and that, since Rytlock only uses mainhand sword, my partner’s revenant obviously invented the staff, hammer, and shield skills himself – and taught the shield skills to my mesmer, since the chronomancer and herald shield skills are so similar :P ). Sometimes trying to imagine up reasonable lore for these things is pretty fun imo.

Guess I won't be getting the Solstice Outfit

It was offered out of pack for 700 gems back in August (which is when I got it), I’m sure it’ll be offered out of pack again at some point, though probably not actually during Wintersday ’cause that would just make too much sense.

Armor to go with Chronomancer's Epaulets.

I’ve got the Priory top and bottom with masquerade boots and bladed gloves with my epaulets, was going for a more “armoured” look to go with my (at the time Soldiers, now Wanderer’s) stats as well as show off Order pride. Once I get around to finally crafting my ascended gear I might keep some of the Illustrious stuff, haven’t decided yet. This stuff doesn’t look drastically different between genders, either, but I popped into the Cosmetician to check out what it’d look like on a male for ya!

What dyes are your favorites?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

TitaniumBovine.9674

I like high-contrast dyes, especially slightly desaturated ones that give off a kind of “dusty old curtains in a Victorian mansion” vibe. So I really like the dyes named after emotions: Pride, Wrath, Envy, Spite, Arrogance, Remembrance, Forgiveness, Sincerity, and Mischief. I also like the Tint dyes (Rose Tint, Blue Tint, Purple Tint, etc)

I think my absolute favourite, though, like if I had to start all over with just one dye, is Abyss. You can’t go wrong with a good solid black. Goes with everything.

Mesmer Illusions

Just to be Captain Obvious, remember also the two types of illusions: Clones (who should look exactly like you) and Phantasms (who does not look like you).

Might be easy to forget.

Edit: great that you solved it!

Phantasms still look exactly like you, just transparent.

How does one 'see' Anomalies?

I have a follow-up question: I heard if you complete the Burden Of Choice achievement you stop seeing them. True or false?

Cat food (not from Dulfy or Wiki or reddit)

I think it’s mostly guesswork, but there’s a couple that if you feed something to it’ll say something like “It wants something hotter!” Like if you give it one food item(a Spicy Flank Steak) but it actually wants a different one(a Spicier Flank Steak). I’ve fed them all already so unfortunately I can’t check in-game.

add hide function for costumes shoulders too

Basically just the Cook’s Outfit can iirc. It was a town clothes item before it got Outfittified. So it can hide gloves and shoulders. I’m not sure but I think Pirate Outfit (also once town clothes) can as well, it just doesn’t have shoulders to start with.

Along with Chef and Pirate, there’s a few other outfits that you can hide gloves on: the Fancy Winter Outfit, the Mad King Outfit (but it looks kinda ridiculous), Executioner Outfit, Witch Outfit, and Hex Outfit. AFAIK shoulders aren’t hideable on any outfit, but I’ve only got sylvari chars so I’ll take your word that it works on Chef for other races.

Do not want.

just because someone doesn’t want the option for themselves, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be available for other people.

Personally, I’m on the opposite side of the wall here, I’d love to do more HoT stuff but I don’t want friends to feel bad or left behind if I get a higher mastery level than them. +1 for hide mastery levels.

Where does the XP go?

I think what OP is saying is they have max experience for the three masteries’ current levels but not enough mastery points to actually learn the next level in any of the masteries. In which case, the XP disappears into the mists never to be seen again.

Can we be able to hide mastery levels?

I wish we could hide both AP and mastery points because they encourage elitist behavior.

I was gonna say the exact same thing

Mentor Tag In Chat

I like it ‘cause when I say “x on my tag” people know to look for a mentor tag – I’d actually like if the commander tag got chat titles as well: Green Commander, Blue Commander, Red Commander, etc, so on a map with 6 tags I don’t have to sit there in the map screen trying to figure who’s who.

Two armour sets! One berserker stats, one soldier.

  • Mask of the Jubilee
  • Snapdragon Coat
  • Dryad Gloves, Boots, Epaulets
  • Council Ministry Hose

The mask and shoulders tend to be hidden, the only screenshot of them I have is in the hero menu :x This skin set-up is Summer only, once it cools off I’ve gotta think of something new! (Or just switch the top and bottom back to Dryad Coat and Nightmare Sarong…)

  • Mask of the Jubilee
  • Chronomancer’s Epaulets
  • Priory’s Historical Vestments, Pants
  • Aurora Gloves
  • Masquerade Boots

I wanted this set to look more protective than my normal set, plus I always wanted to show my Order pride.

Both sets have my lovely daughter Mawdrey because I love her.

Issues with character art, weapons, or armor?

SEVERE issues with /talk emote:
On female sylvari (I’m a mesmer but that seems irrelevant), the new /talk emote causes ALL skirts to lose physics and stick out sideways. This happens regardless of whether the Animation settings under Graphics are set to high, medium, or low. This doesn’t seem to happen with any other animation. (I’ve submitted this bug in-game, and am posting this here to provide additional screenshots)
