Could you talk about the sigils in your new vid ? Ad the moment, only rage is set in stone for me. However im not sure about the other sigils ?
I tried air+fire, but the dmg wasnt that great. 800 dmg per proc isnt that amazing. I see that you advice battle. Which makes sense with the strength runes. But which sigils would you use with travellers as example ? Maybe endurance or bloodlust ?
Why dont you use a scepter ? I love to use the immobilize to set up the GS burst.
Is it because you play in a team and you coordinate your ccs ?
The most important thing to remember with Guardian burst is that it’s all or nothing, if you don’t land enough crits you’re screwed. It’s not gimmicky like 1/10 times it works but when you hit a 2k zealot’s fire instead of 4.2k hit you’ll realise pretty quickly that you need the highest crit chance you can. RHS is really important for consistency in your burst while Fiery Wrath has that extra potential for a one shot on somebody.
That’s exaclty what i thought. But reading your post, i realized that i might be misinformed.
I was under the impression, that RHS only applies to your first 3 weapon skills. Is this incorrect ?
Or is the 15% increased crit chance prot chance a higher dmg increase than 10% of shield of wrath, zealots fire and smite condition ?
Thanks for the fast reply. But could you explain your spreadsheet a bit ? For instance what are the dmg sources ? Is it mace autoattack?
Initially, i wrote the post because i wasn’t sure if its better to have a 15% higher crit chance for autoattack and prot strike or to have a flat out 10% dmg increase.
Could you argue that fiery wrath is better for the initial burst, and RHS is better for sustained dps ?

Some days ago, i learned that right handet strenght only works for your mainhand :-(. Wouldnet it be better do drop those 5 last points in radiance and additonaly 5 points in virtues, to be able to pick up Fiery Wrath.

Inflicting bleeding also inflicts one second of burning. Inflicting burning also inflicts 3 seconds of bleeding (1 stack).
Notes – This applies once per skill. IE: triggering crit bleed procs on a pistol shot will only burn the foe for one second, not two or more.
I like your changes. However, the one postet above would be extremly op. 1 sec of burning added to the auto attck ? Thats just too strong.
Why not something along the lines of:
Condition Specialist
Pistol 1 now applies 2 stacks of bleed for 2 s (or 1 stack for 4s).
This change would make our outo attck worthwile.

I don’t think I could have more experience with grenades. They have a small radius and they make a red circle on the ground that enemies can see. Enemies don’t even have to dodge to avoid the red circles; running to the side is enough. Rarely, I’m able to stun someone and drop a grenade on them before they can recover, but that’s a whole lot of effort for one hit that frequently misses.
I’m going to give bombs a try. They share a trait line with grenades, and they have a wide radius that can be made wider with a trait. It’s big enough blast that to get out of it, you would have to dodge and run a bit. So you either stay and get blown up or run and get shot in the back. We’ll see.
Only the toolbelt skill make circles. I think grenades are perfectly viable in a 1v1. You just need a lot of practice. And dont try to use them on 1500 range. If you want to hit with them, you have to stick close to meelerange.
I dont think bombs are the answer here.
In my opinion, nothing beats magitech armor with aetherized weapons.

Have you ever thought about might stacking? If you want to play a hybrid build, you can really benefit from might. It doesnt even have to be a hgh might stacking build.
I cant comment on the pve side, because i never really play instance etc.
However if your aim is to play wvw, you could make some improvements.
It would change around traits. Having perma swiftness and vigor is excellent in pvp. And if you have 10 in tools, you could add another 5 for inertial converter. Cause inertial converter + elixir r = op.
Maybe if you use flamethrower, you could equip a shield. The added survivability should really help, and your burning uptime will still be pretty high because of the ft.
Your choice of runes is subpar in pvp. You should never spam pistol 1, so +bleed duration only benefits your grenades. A 20sec bleed ist pretty nice, but then again you could just eat a pizza and use other runes.

The second one relies on might stacking through weaponswapping with sigil of battle,rune of altruism and enhance performance. The first one would work better with rabid stats. I used more or less this build, but never thought abouth using it with a hybrid setup.
If you want to play a hibrid spec, i would really try out might stacking. However, not everybody likes it.

I also tried Cleansing formula 409 with elixir b and h. It was terrible ^^. If the necro equips corrupt boon you’re pretty much screwed with elixir b.
On another note: Does the Ds teleport thing work if you dodge it ? or do you just avoid the chill ?

I really dont know how to deal with them (condition necros). They drop me from 100 to 0 in a fearlock. And i can not dodge those fears. The DS fear is instant and all the staff skills have the same animation.
On top of that he cleanses all my condition every time he heals or sends them back to me with putrid mark.
How do i fight them ? Can you tell me your secrets ?

I took elixir r over a stunbreak, hoping that i could kill them after their selfrezz, when their fears are on cooldown. Problem is, i cant throw it because im alredy dead when the stunlock is over.
Should i just run away ?

Blind them, kite them and dodge when they leap towards you.
They took away our last good stunbreak.

rocket boots actually go the same distance as rtl at half the cd cost
please note swiftness like rtl will not effect the distance
Swiftness does effect the distance. Or did you want to say that ride the lightning is not effected by it ?
With the new rocket boots, i only need half the time for the eb jumping puzzle. You can make the same jumps as the warris.

Not thief related, but suggested by other players:
- remove the knockback from rocketboots
- add a 1 sec delay between temporal curtain and the pull
I play p/s frequently but that nerf/change to static shield is a let down considering shield already has a high cd to begin with. I’ll probably move over to p/p instead
Yeah, but if you block now for 2sec even if hit, its more or less an even trade.
This makes life so much easier against shatter mesmer as exaple.

Stunbreak on super super speed sounds nice, but im sure as hell going to miss the double elixir R rez :-(
Whats Rumble ? Is that the new rocket boots tool belt ? If yes, then i would really consider using rocket boot. Stun break + stability + a leap would be so nice.

Thanks for this last build Ostricheggs and Ayestes. I was never a fan of HGH and Elixir H, but i tried it out. And i have to say its just what i was looking for. I always liked p/p but never found a build i truly like. Up until now.
