As I tried to point out before, but it seemed to get lost on people because I didn’t spell it out exactly: There is a difference between a zerg and a large organized group of players.

Zergs are unskilled.

I have been fighting BT/FA for over a month, I was on FA for over a month and a half and fought with them, and before that I fought FA off and on. Relevant enough?

2. All “20” of our eles use dagger/dagger, which are capable of producing water fields and lightning fields.

3. BT and redguard are apparently the only 2 guilds who use tactics instead of running facefirst into an enemy with no buffs as a slow stream of individual players.

4. BT won’t be able to stack might in a month because ??? assumed nerf to our 3-5 d/d eles somehow magically stops every profession from using fire fields and blast finishers.

5. Might cap is 50 on Yak’s Bend.

Are you referring to yourself, or someone else? My post was sarcastic (summarizing things you have said, and pretending they were true to highlight how absurd they sound). None of your posts have been sarcastic. Hyperbole (a.k.a. exaggeration) and sarcasm are not the same thing.

Sarcasm would be subjective to the person who is doing it. Just because you chose to take it as fact or just an exaggeration, doesnt mean that I wasnt well aware of what I was typing when I did so, and it has gotten the exact response I was looking for. It was sarcasm to the fact that it doesnt realy matter what the cap for might buffs is, your abusing it. This will get nerfed as well, enjoy while you can.

What then? Will your guild continue to run a gimp build of AE dmg with minimal buff stacks? Or move on to the next Op’ed build that someone else finds?

I’m willing to bet you have used some of the information others who play this game have posted online to tune your build and improve your game.

So, why would you debase yourself in an attempt to degrade your opponents for using … tactics? If they’re as you say, Red Guard copycats, why aren’t you countering their ‘highly predictable’ tactics with some brilliant maneuvers of your own?

There is no GW2 patent system for battle tactics.

I think you lost a screw somewhere. First you are reading far more into the statement then was implied, second you keep saying things that are bizarre and untrue. 50 stacks of might? BT was once an all thief guild? BT is heavy with D/D ele? Everyone in the game copies Red Whoever because you once watched a video of them?

Aim for at least one true statement per post, it will give the rest of your rants some credibility. Your view of what ANET has said is a rather subjective take on their comments, imo.

I don’t know how anybody is having fun to be honest with you. I personally am bored with fighting DB and whoever. They don’t have the coverage to compete with us, just like we don’t have the coverage if we went to T2.

if Krew, and EA, and NNK and a few more notable guilds would move to FA. we would have a competitive server that could stick in T2. As opposed to FA facerolling T3, Maguuma Facerolling T4. This would Create fun fights for everybody involved, as well as a balanced tier. FA has the oceanic coverage…in fact we have the most oceanic coverage I would say, we need more WvW oriented NA guilds, and an SEA/EU presence to do it.

It only makes sense. I can pretty much speak for all of BT when I say we would prefer to be losing/in a competitive fight. The borderlands become a target rich enviroment as opposed to a PvDoor snoozefest or unorganized zerg farm/Enemy not being able to field players due to fairweathers.

Now just because you’re abusing buff stacking and Ele’s AE dmg doesnt mean everyone else who isnt running 20 ele’s and 20 guards with 50 stacks of might and dmg abs. shields up the kitten is an unorganized zerg.

Next month you’re D/D ele zerg ball will be nerfed into oblivion and you can all go back to playing thiefs again.

The vast majority of Yaks Bend has no interest in being in this bracket, ever. We prefer smaller fights and if we wanted large fights we would have moved onto a tier 1 server long ago.

I’m not gonna get into an internet fight with you because you are upset or something or your feelings are hurt. Pretty sure you can’t “abuse” buff stacking, buffs are part of the game and how you PvP in this game. I’m an ele, you’re gonna tell me I’m abusing mechanics because I’m doing something my class can do, and are you gonna tell me I am wrong for choosing an ele when I bought the game? Why would I play another class I know nothing about and don’t even want to play? Certain classes have certain uses, people play what they play, oh well. I’m not gonna go make a thief and cry because my ele got nerfed, I’m going to deal with it and play accordingly.

Meh, not much to do now, except try train our troop to improve since I think not many will transfer here if their sole purpose is wvw. But in PVE, it isn’t affected one bit. Way to many people roaming around killing those things.

CD will have to go some more tiers, and eventually it will stabilize.

Oddly the incentive to move to a server for PvE is about to be gone since people will be able to guest to any server in their region. The only reason to transfer this week is really WvW.

The guesting system has really been live in this game for a long time now. A ton of people including myself have been using gw2lfg.com for months to set up dungeon runs with people from other servers. Names are unique to the game not a server. So if you knew the name then you could invite to your group.

This didnt take very long. Mag isnt winning in tier 3 and suddenly, lets jump ship. I’m shocked and didnt see it coming.

This wont be the fun fight keaning was looking for, Yaks will go back to PVE now. If we are lsoing over the weekend all our carebears go back into hibernation for the week.

A few of us will come out during the NA prime time and make our own map interesting through the week, but there will be no presence on the rest other then the ocasional 5-10 people who will run the karma loop. No legit push of the map though.

Take it for what it is. Up to this match there has never been a point in time where Yaks saw Maguuma as a threat. Vultures? yes. You guys would come and scoop up what you could while we were busy with Ebay or DB. Even the week you beat us, we were more worried about how to defend from the DB oceanic crew that took our stuff every night. Not Mag.

Really the tower defense wasnt all that fun. I spammed ground targets at a zerg for 4 hours and got some badges.

Its not about defedning anything, it’s about that you guys are tno the gods of gaming. You have a zerg nothing more. You melted the same as every other zerg on every server. To claim otherwise is just foolish, but yet you continue to act like “your zerg” is somehow special. I understand that winning for Mag players is special, but its not special to anyone else. if like 20 of us held off like 200 of you for 4 hours. I wonder what 200 yaks on the map would have done.. we will never know though because it has never been worth our time to consider it.

Yaks is losing from numbers, but I’m not sure how you guys keep handwaving away when you lose even numbers. Reset night borderland gone in 10 minutes, and 2 days ago queued our borderland and walked away with a single tower to show for it.

We don’t expect you to win, but hearing that you don’t have the numbers constantly is sad when you queue our borderland to try and ninja a keep, get a response, then leave when the main zerg gets wiped 3 times.

OK reminder #2 inc. I hate to repeat myself for everyone else. Mag got badge farmed for 4 hours straight trying to take 1 tower from a group with outmanned buff up. Until most of us got bored and logged off around midnight est. Your zerg ran the tower over in under 2 minutes when no one was defending any longer, much like it has done all week. But wasnt able to win like a 10 to 1 fight for it in 4 hours.

Now to be fair you were against probably the best team of players that Yaks had on any map Friday as it was alot of long time Yak players who have played through our share of zerg servers and dont panic at larger numbers,much like old time Mag players I’m sure. We were dug in like Alabama wood ticks.

My group was made to defend it with 2 well/staff build necro’s and a ranger to root people in them and 2 greatsword warriors for hundred blades. 2 necro’s that have a clue go a long ways towards demoralizing zergs and stopping thier momentum. Once the momentum of a zerg stops alot will run in the other direction and the few that stay become fodder for a prebuilt group.

We were not alone though, there was some very talented Yak’s players there maybe 20ish most of the time. Now and then we would get up to like maybe 40ish, but they wouldn’t stay.

Well here is one difference for ya. I play every prime time for Yak’s and maybe im wrong here and someone else from yaks can say there was. But I never recall a single time in any match up against Mag. has there ever been a que to get in on your map. In each matchup the other server was more of a threat and saw the bulk of our attention. From day 1 we have only been able to focus 2 maps with a scattering of players on a 3rd. So the fact is that you have lost your entire map to us on serveral occasions when we didnt even give it a real focus. I remember the last time you guys were up in this barcket that we speceficaly ignored Mag. for 1/2 the week because Ebay portal hacked into one of our keeps and we wanted to send them back down a tier and didnt let them have more then 20pts at any time for the rest of the match. Thats how much we cared about what what Mag. was doing in that match up. That for 1/2 the week we ignored that you were even playing.

So, basically, you could have stomped us our past half dozen matches on reset, but just chose not to.

Basically yes, mag’s border was for the taking at any time we wanted. So why focus it on a Friday night when we have maybe 2.5 maps coverage? DB or Ebay were both bigger servers with more coverage so we had to fight YBBL, EB, and maybe 20 or so ppl on thier border. At no time was Mag focused on in them matches. there were times where we would tell everyone in chat to leave mag alone and let them on the map as long as it wasnt YBBL. We have a ton of fair weather WvW players. If we are winning over weekend they come out of the woodwork. But if we are not then they will just PVE the entire week. It’s as frustrating to the few of us who play WvW each day as it is to our oposition when they see drastic number changes from week to week from us.

Yes. We didn’t lose our borderland in 10 minutes against your queue, but you did against ours. If equal numbers is the game we want to play in this little fight, then you’ve never trounced us even numbers, but we are doing it to you on reset at equal queue BL’s.

There will be some fight clubs this week for sure if you want to do the PvP thing rather than using the equal numbers measurement.

Well here is one difference for ya. I play every prime time for Yak’s and maybe im wrong here and someone else from yaks can say there was. But I never recall a single time in any match up against Mag. has there ever been a que to get in on your map. In each matchup the other server was more of a threat and saw the bulk of our attention. From day 1 we have only been able to focus 2 maps with a scattering of players on a 3rd. So the fact is that you have lost your entire map to us on serveral occasions when we didnt even give it a real focus. I remember the last time you guys were up in this barcket that we speceficaly ignored Mag. for 1/2 the week because Ebay portal hacked into one of our keeps and we wanted to send them back down a tier and didnt let them have more then 20pts at any time for the rest of the match. Thats how much we cared about what what Mag. was doing in that match up. That for 1/2 the week we ignored that you were even playing.

To people looking for an explanation to Yak’s poor opener: There was overconfidence, followed by a lot of new militia who are still finding their feet. The large Militia numbers were because of a recent PvE engagement drive, and possibly individual transfers of people looking for community first.

So the reason YB is losing is because YB beat themselves? I think the real reason Yaks had a poor opener is because Yaks’ lack of skill in the face of even numbers has been completely and utterly exposed.

If that explanation appeals more to your ego, go with that. Its quite revisionist considering Yak’s earlier matches against Maguuma and other higher tiered servers, but your demonstrated attitude leads me to believe that that won’t deter you.

Which matches? The ones where you rolled us because your population was much higher? Maybe the one where we won because your server didn’t understand how to cope against Dragonbrand?

Do you think there is any difference between us rolling you with larger numbers and now you doing the same in this match? We coped fine with DB when we were on to play. I dont remember them owning the map, but seeing as the vast population of that server is oceanic they can say the same, that they had a hard time dealing with us during our prime time. My guess is that seeing as Yaks has been trying to recruit for months now and it just has not happened that the majority of us will move before Feb. 28th, its allready happening in fact, and that move will most likely be to TC as we tend to like the players on that server. The last time Yaks saw a fun matchup was the first week we were in tier 3. Transfers have ruined every week since then and that was months ago now. All in all we have had maybe 2-3 weeks of fun matches in 5 months where we didnt dominate or get dominated.

In my experience you get way more badges when you use the finnishing moves then you do if you finnish people through damage. I have farmed well over 3k badges, most of which are on my theif which does more kills via finnishing moves then my necro which gets more kills through ranged damage through the downed state kills. I play my necro way more then the theif probably 75% more and it gets way less badges.

This is a bigger issue with those of you using min. requirement comps. I was using one as well for the first few months of this games release. Funny thing is that for the first month that comp ran WvW with no issue’s then there was a patch one night, one of the famous no warning WvW is being shut down for a new build routines, and from then on that comp. had rendering issue’s. My guess is that they increaased the population cap per a map in that patch. I went and bought an I7 3.7, 2g Nvidia card, with 16 gigs of ram. Now im back to seeing everything with no rendering issue’s. I even see theifs as normal or so I believe anyhow, Ive seen vids of people with issue’s with rendering theifs and im not experiencing what they are in the vids.

Also im guessing that with alot of you having these issue’s that if you’re running on a minimum reuirement machine then you are also using your ISP’s minimum bandwith option. This most likely is not ment for todays gaming, most are barely enough to surf porn let alone stream information from hundreds of sources instantly. The dev stated there is a maximum amount of information we are recieving, but he didnt say what that was though. Alot of you probably are not even close to maxin that out, which will cause lag and packet loss as the game tries to update what you should see on the screen. Obviously it will get worse with more stuff going on IE: more players.

This game also has a pretty robust sound and graphics engine. For most of us who are used to playing these games as a norm, this will come as a no brainer. For those of you who are new to this type of game, turn your graphics down when in WvW. Also I know back in the beta there was issue’s with the sound causing people to drop from WvW, now we get that kitten Air Raid Horn bug!!! I would still turn the sound options off to only what you need to play the game when in WvW.

Why are none of you thinking about the real reason they are making these rams? because they like to throw away like 30 silver per a camp? Or is it because people will stop and destroy them, thats why they are allways built right next to the supplies. They want them to catch your attention. Noe if they take all 5 camps and place rams in them that takes say 1 minute per a camp to remove. That gives you 5 minutes to run some allready madde and sitting in the spawn GOLEMS to the intended target and bulldoze through while people destroy rams in camps that the spawning mobs would take care of anyhow. Now the second reason .. if you want to just keep doing the loop and are a small group of say 2 people doing this and the rams dont get destroyed by players. The mobs will be busy trying to destroy them and you can pull them off the rams one at a time, which makes taking the camp back much easier. Dont buy into the “I’m just doing this to be cute” routine. There are real tatical reasons on the map to do this if you have the funds to. I don’t, so I’ll ruin it for them who do! Happy Holidays!

We exploit every situation we can involving the use of the opposing servers to our advantage. It’s the nature of things.

I would still like to be competetive population wise though. But “ohh well” I would rather have a target rich enviroment rather then no targets at all, which awaits us in teir 4 when we control all 4 maps in the first 12 hours or so and no one leaves a spawn area for a week.

Then we get to come back to teir 3 and play defense again for a couple weeks.

My bet is that very soon the Yak’s WvW population will need to make a desicion. Do we continue being the yo-yo server that has no real fair spot for us in any teir or do we as a population move to a lower population server that maybe can only cover 1 map atm with real coverage and give them another couple maps worth of very skilled players and push that server furher then Yak’s will go. Without transfers to us, we are what we are, tactics wont change it. We have tried tactics and are heading towards our 3rd loss in 3 weeks to population.

Most of Yaks has had enough of playing defense for 3 weeks straight now. We have not had any que time for any map that I have seen for well over a week now. Last night on a Friday after reset we had like 20 people defending both FA and TC at our garrison.

I’m not sure where we belong in the brackets. teir 3 we dont have the population for. But we have become use to paying with the outmanned buff these days and still being affective. Which means very bad things for tier 4 when we end up back there and they dont have these huge zergs that we deal with now.

This is why it seems like we are being ganged up on. Zergs are like water, allways take the path of least resistance. There isn’t much resistance left in Yak’s atm. Easy targets = Easy points and you cant blame the other servers for taking them if we cant defend them.
