All of a sudden Im getting 20 koda tokens last night so I slept (9 hrs logged off) thinking that it might get rid of DR but after running a dungeon today, I still got 20 koda tokens…
Do I need to wait for a reset which is 4 hrs from now? or is there some other way to get rid of this pesky DR?
Same here, dont worry your not alone
Well after playing WvW tonight I can think of quite a few pros and cons to the new culling patch.
Essentially they put the control into the users’ hands. I really liked seeing the massive scale of the battles that I was in. The amount of people was amazing. Unfortunately, even on Low/Low I found myself getting skill lag and other lag during the large zergs.I would really like to know how people with i5 3570k and i7 3770k stock and oc did with the settings and how their performance was.
Well I have an i5-2300 and mine is just downright terrible, FPS is at 12-16 on large zergs..
I appreciate what Anet has done though
Or will GW2 be forever for high end PCs only?
My CPU is not that great but I wouldnt say its that bad
Intel Core i5-2300 (2 yr old PC)
I bought a new video card about 2 months ago an Asus Radeon HD 7750 that helped alleviate the problem a bit
I have about medium graphics as of the moment but when it comes to WvW, my FPS just drastically dropped to about 12-16 average
Is there any way for me to improve my PC’s performance?
Note: I already unparked my CPU
What pistols have effects besides quip?
Thanks
I just 80’ed my thief yesterday but Im still struggling to play the class properly in WvW
Any guides out there? Thanks
So basically I want my thief to deal huge damage but enough survivability to get me out if all went apecrap
Im using D/D at the moment and I usually go with a zerg so I am often faced with another zerg on the opposing world but from time to time I scout for my guild and roam solo
Thanks
Thief: learn how to dodge
Mesmer: learn how to juggle skills’ effects
Necromancer: learn how to juggle health bars
Guardian: learn how to block
Engineer: learn how to juggle skill sets
Elementalist: learn how to time and combo skills
Warrior: learn how to navigate a battlefieldAt least in my experience. These overlap to an extent for each class.
Pretty much summed it up in my opinion
Éon Flux
Rank – Tiger
Level – 80
Thats just sexy, what combo is that?
Something like this?

Besides cooking, what else garners the most Character Level Experience (CLE) out there?
Thanks
First question?? Why spend 100 gold!! on a character??.
Beside the three books (3g10s) you don’t have to spend anything when leveling a character.
Second Question: Are you sure you wanna switch? You might want to go ot the ele section and ask around there for hints an tips. Or find a good WvWvW guild on your server and ask them for advise. I know an ele can really well be build as a tanky-ish character. People consider them squishy, but that doesnt have to be the way. It is all in the traits. Yes it might be that the playstyle needed is not your thing but that is not the classes handicap, but your own. So your statement that it is suicidal with all nukes and sieges would mean imo you blame the class for your own problems and then you will hit it with any other class (sorry to put it so blunt, but specially in WvWvW there is no class that has a -push a button and win- option, so failing at an ele and not fully understanding why means it is hard to make a different class as well).
Mesmer and Thief if played right are the two best options for WvW. There are some amazing builds out there that are relativly easy to play. I don’t think the upcomming update wich is against culling and not against stealth is going to change a lot.
Warrior isi nice and ok. Easy to play and indeed more your playstyle if you don’t want to think bout survivability. Just keep in mind that a warrior if played badly is as bad as an ele.
Hope you are not offended by the way im putting things. I’m trying to help you
Not at all, your reply was insightful but to answer your first question
I spent 100g cause I want my main class to be an eye candy so I spent a fortune for those glowy items, quaggan backpack etc..
and as for thief stealth, the one I heard isnt about culling but rather thieves would get the “Revealed” debuff after it goes out of stealth
JQ, BG and SoR
Tier 1 servers in wvw if your ever that PK type and also most guilds there require you to have TS3 (which is good if you wanna befriend your guildies)
The idea behind Soulbound is to remove some of the gear from the game. The moment you equip it, it’s out of circulation. Now, if all things were Account Bound instead of Soulbound, most people would just get one set of heavy, medium and light armor, plus matching accessories, and switch them around. Same for weapons.
So while both effectively remove items from the economy, Soulbound is far more effective at it than Account Bound, and that’s why it is used instead.
Well yeah but the consequence is huge like in my case, Ive commited to my ele thinking that it is the right main class for me but after 2 days, all went apecrap and Im deciding on abandoning it with my 40 days worth of laurels + ectos not to mention the 100g on the side that I spent on it..
If Anet introduce some sort of Soulbound to Account Bound item in the gem store, I wouldnt mind getting gems for it
My first question is:
-Is it too late to switch my main class now? (I have, stupidly, commited 100g on my ele already and wasted 35 laurels for an ascended ring)
Second:
What can you guys advice me to switch?
My playstyle:
I usually go on WvW following zergs – I dislike the idea of staying in the back casting stuffs thats why Staff ele didnt work for me while D/D ele although a bit more fun and dynamic I find myself useless when our zerg is faced with another since I cant really just dive in and do my stuff (it’d be suicidal with all nukes and sieges)
Thinking of:
-Mesmer
-Thief
-Warrior
I was gonna go for a thief but after I heard that stealth is gonna get hit badly on the upcoming patch I decided to ask you more experienced guys about this since I dont wanna spend another 100g for nothing..
Thanks in advance
Melee will deal more damage than ranged, single target will deal more than AoE, and so on.
The elementalist, despite what it may hint at, is not a top of the line damage dealer. The same can be said for the guardian, which is pretty defensive minded.
If you want oompf, I’d recommend a thief or warrior…and then melee.
Yeah but in general this game seems to force people to be “equal” to each other which in my opinion is needed but should also reward the player/s that have spent quite more time than the other
I clearly spent more time than those people in WvW who has Masterwork Gears under level 80s…
Or is it just me?
I currently have four 80 chars
-Guardian
-Ranger
-Engineer
-Ele
Tried the engineer and ranger but just didnt feel like playing them on WvW
After spending about 30g on the guardian, I tried it out on WvW but it still doesnt seem to pack-a-punch so I decided to switch professions (thinking it might be prof related and/or gears)
So I switched to an ele (which I heard is fairly decent in WvW) and decided to go All Out spending about 100g, reading guides etc..
My Ele currently has:
Full Exo gears with an Ascended Ring
Corrupted Shard + Knight Destroyer Dagger for Weaps
But Holy Bananas…It still doesnt have that “oomf” that I was looking for even though its decently geared
I wasnt expecting much but at least way better than my guardian since its a huge jump considering it has an Ascended gear which I worked for days and Daggers that just, literally, drained all my gold but the dmg output on both was about the same…really Anet?
Most MMOs I encountered, at least, made you feel stronger after you have acquired a certain level and gears but here in GW2, its almost like even though you achieved a certain threshold the character/s just wont progress in terms of strength.

There should be an item in the Gem store that allows this
I know it might affect your personal story but after level about 50ish, all races goes on the same path anyway – you kill undead and dragon and happily ever after
So why not just put a level requirement as to when you can use the tool, this way it wont affect anything
I’m sorry Ashley I’m not about to do that I’m refunding it… I never seen a game in all my years of gaming have a fail install client to where you literally have to rework your whole computer just for one game that just doesn’t seem right it’s so fail. Not going to lie the game is beautiful but just to get to the beauty you have to go through a hell storm… its like telling goku to walk all the way from GA to CAL.
Nah bruh you got it all wrong, the only ones who “go through a hell storm” are the ret*rded ones “yo”
They should just sticky this and we can all submit our questions here relating to Living Story, I’ll edit out the original post to fit a more general and broad topic if needed be
Does it reward you if you finish them?
I really like to try this out but I am confuse on how to start it, is it like your personal story but a totally different one? – you get cutscenes etc.. stuff like that
or is it just like those heart quest where its just, you complete a quest then thats it
After seeing the engineer go on “Rampage Brute” Mode, I find it ironic and unfit for the class to be using its fist and foot to dish out damage and a rock…seriously? a class that has a concept of outwitting its opponents through the careful use of gadgets is using a kitten rock?!?.. not sure if anet is trolling – it sure is entertaining to watch though
Anyway why didn’t Arena Net just made a new class that uses its fist and foot? It doesnt need to have a concept of a monk (which I personally believe is overrated) in guild wars 1
It can be a new concept, maybe having something like the guardian’s spells but focuses more on the offensive with a dark arts background.
Its weapon can be:
-Fist (Offensive)
-Feet (Offensive)
-Book (Slightly offensive but more for supporting – imagine a guy bashing its adversary with a book, you just cant say no to that)
And also, if possible, the profession can have a special trait called “Fluidity” in which the player (thats you) can do a set of combo/s that would reward the player if he/she pulls it off- maybe additional damage like the backstab or something along those lines.
I did not post this on the “Suggestion” section cause I wanna know your guys opinion about this
Constructive Criticism are more than welcome while trolls shoo shoo.
Feel free to pitch in your ideas, its a free world
Note: I tried to steer off a bit of those overrated stuff like the usual bald asian monk or those brainless savage brawler (thats why this class uses a book, you gotta be smart to have one of those right?), seeing that Guild Wars 2’s concept is to feel different and unique I thought of an idea that can also be called unique (hopefully).
