LOL… didn’t mean it literally, just the cost of it is horrible and we’d like to get the upgrades going again. It’s just frustrating to have to grind for it.

I am in a very, very small casual guild. We’ve managed to get our guild hall up to level 56, but we are now prevented from going further unless we spend hours and hours farming leather. We need 900 pieces of cured hardened leather, and can’t afford to purchase it off of the TP.. not at those prices, it’s ridiculous how expensive it is. Oh well.. .this was really just a vent.

Once, 4 years ago, for a friend.. lasted a week.. moved back to original home server.. will NEVER move again by choice.

Remove the three lowest linked servers, and allow free transfer to those players. Give players that remained on that server an exclusive title achievement in recognition for their persistence. This decision is brutal, but keep in mind this answer assumes no player retention in WvW. The intention is that less linked servers means less maintenance. And perhaps the server boxes themselves could be used to benefit the rest of the cluster.

Why not remove the top three servers that are always full, that everyone else apparently always want to transfer to? Why always pick on the lower tiers? We don’t want to leave our homes, just as much as everyone else doesn’t want to leave theirs. And don’t tell me server identity doesn’t exist, that it’s about the guild…. that’s not true.. I’m in one guild, but run with a lot of others on my server and have for the last 4 years and I do miss that since the linking.

From my point of view this is a systemic problem not based in the player population but also how the system rewards the numbers instead the skill set and the player organization:

• for the hundred time: reduce dramatically the damage to players from all the siege.* This only benefits the bigger blobs as they have more supplies. The siege should apply CC to incapacitate players so they are not able to damage but it must not do more damage than any AA. That way the siege will benefit al group sizes and will depend on the organization.
• Modify effects to affect players around a target over time. There is an skill in game from a vampire something that affects players around the target. We need skills like this to avoid staking blobs in one spot. While this is not done we will have pirate ship or melee train.
• Some boons should not stack in duration or potency. They are too strong to be designed to act 100% of the time.

Once we solved the problems with the binary blobs (melee train or pirate ship) and players are somehow rewarded fo using more coordinated way to fight closer to a raid than to pve open world we may think about balancing the population:

• the average population during at the end of a encounter (2h) will be calculated to find the difference multiplier of the points. The math could be like this: (lower population population server / higher population partcipation server) * 100 and that will be the extra percentage points the lower population server will get. Participation could be the total amount of wvw reward track points the total players of that server have earned during that encounter.

You as company can not control the amount of players that goes to each server and making smaller pieces will not balance anything as the players will quickly shift to fill up any server that are defined as the strongest because they have the wvw home guilds. My suggestions will make the game will reward better the difference of player population between servers without the feeling that they did nothing and got everything.

I agree. Work with the servers you currently have. And no .. I wouldn’t leave my server, been on it since day 1.

I am with the OP on this one… I, along with a couple other people I know, have stopped playing WvW since after the third linking. We gave it a chance, but we were never made to feel welcome on the host servers and we miss the camaraderie we had with our old FC server. When I go into WvW now, I don’t know anyone, and God forbid I try to roam… ugh. I’ve been on FC since day 1 four years ago and I will never leave it, it’s my home.

I may not have been in one of the bigger WvW guilds on FC, but I knew the people in them, and they knew me (or at least I like to think they did) and I could rely on them when needed and vice versa.

Please, please, please stop the insanity… release us from this madness called WvW server linking!!

My tiny guild also had help claiming, posted in Players Helping Players and got help rather quickly. We’ve leveled up to 29 with only 2 contributing. It is going to be slow going, but it’s a goal to work towards.

Thanks for getting back to us, and yes, it’s fair I truly hope Bbear is okay, and will keep an eye out for more hunts.

I hope so too, as I was one of the ones for the tie breaker and I haven’t seen anything about it…. and Bbear has been great about posting results on time so far… starting to worry.

We are an extremely small guild, but would still like to have a hall. We have everything needed to claim it, except people to help us. We can usually do it on a Friday, sometimes Saturday… depending on the time.

I love this thread, I’ve helped out quite a few people myself and figured I would ask for the two things that I would like now. I’m on NA, would really love a makover kit and the greatsword Vision of the Mists… I have a buy order in, but it never drops low enough to what I can afford :/ Thank you in advance.

I know the poll is over, and it’s in favour of wold linking…. but I’ll add my two cents in. It is a horrible idea, I don’t see most of the players from my server (which is a guest) anymore. To be honest, when I or a couple of us from the original server cap something and we see on the screen the host server has captured it.. it’s frustrating, cause it’s not them that did the work, it’s us. We aren’t allowed to pick up supply from the citadel, cause it’s not our citadel. There are so many things wrong, that others have already stated and I agree with all of them. This is very disheartening and will probably lead to a number of us not playing much in wvw anymore, which is a shame, as I used to thoroughly enjoy it in there. Anet have taken our home away from us… most of us have been on FC since the launch of the game, now we don’t have our home, it appears we will forever be refugees linked to a different host every couple of months.

“While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching.”

I wasn’t just tagging him.. I was actively participating, had been since Friday. I’ve spent many hours at Amber, protecting it and doing all the events, in the hope of getting the Executioner to spawn, as I would like to get the achievement. Unfortunately, the two previous times he spawned there weren’t enough players to succeed and the third time, I died and waypointed twice.. did not just lay there dead. I was also running back to get back into the fight. I am NOT one of the people that tag and wait, I actively participate in all the events I take part in, and I waypoint when dead. Have never had a problem until today with not receiving a reward while running back.

I’m going to say, I spent the weekend camping Amber to get The Executioner to spawn. We got him to spawn twice, but didn’t succeed. Then this morning, he spawned again.. I know I hit him multiple times, I died twice and and waypointed. While running back the second time, I made it to the gate as he died.. and NO reward… I probably won’t wp again in the future, if I’m not going to get the reward cause I was running back or in the middle of waypointing. I now have to do it all again, to get the achievement… it sucks. Took me 3 days to get to today, to have him actually killed on the server instance I was in.. and I didn’t get it. VERY frustrating!!!!

Didn’t read all the pages of posts.. but I will say I don’t like the new system… was going to buy gems for some of the new stuff… but not anymore, as I can’t purchase the amount I was going to and I’m not going to purchase more than I wanted to. Thanks ANet.

This community is full of people that are kind and giving. When I started out, some random person gifted me a greatsword for my guardian while I was doing a heart quest. I’ve also had people gift me dyes and other various weapons. I’ve always paid it forward and will continue to do so as it helps foster a much better community for us – in my opinion. I love the game.

Peneloopee & Bloomanoo are professional gawkers. They seem to be at all major events. I think if anyone in Tyria wants to know anything, they could go ask them and they would be able to find out… maybe not the exact truth, but the way those two quaggans see it.
