I hope they are doing a big thing for the new expansion and that explains their silence. When i mean a big thing i mean gvg’s as we used to know them and gw1-like pvp, maybe monks. If not, pvp will be doneso and won’t be a comeback.

I am afraid they don’t care about bots. They are ruining gw1 and starting to ruin gw2. K. They do nothing, they just say report it with the report tool….lul

They are doing a remaster of starcraft. May i suggest putting all your resources you have into a updated gw1 maybe with jumping and open world and such. The pvp was perfect and the gameplay was awesome. i miss the days of HoH, gw1 and actual pvp, also FA and JQ with the lux n kurz clans.

Casuals moaned about balance , while the 10% of the posters where saying that everything was ok based on higher tiers .

Why they released only 1 paid tournament ?

That happens in every game with PVP. Happens in LOL, GW, WoW, etc. Casuals always complain about imbalance (Wich didn’t really exist in GW’s GVG so). Companies usually tend to listen the better players, but that has to be like that. I don’t know what is your point.

They made at least 9 payed tournaments. The GW factions 100k cash pool, and the 100k series wich where from may to december 2007. The 100k series where also two different tournaments in the same month, one for GVG and the other for the Henchies Arena. We are talking about paid tournaments in 2006-2007. The problem with GW1’s PVP is that GW1 was released too son, that couldn’t make it to esports. If they listened to the community, they could have their esport running and winning $$$$$$$$$$$$

Anet got pvp correct round one with gw1. After near 5 years the gw2 team is just realizing the mistake of pvp is conq.

True, one day they’ll hear me and make what has to be made. Two different games with different gameplays: Competitive PVP and casual PVE. Both coexisting, for ppl to play your games instead of playing, let’s say LOL, Hots, WoW, etc.

What killed PvP? A PvE game with a """"PVP"""" on it. No GUILD WARS, no gamemodes, no maps, no healers, its been a problem since they first announced GW2… They killed PVP the day they decided to leave Gw1s PVP and that is the absolute truth.

Hi, i’ve been told by a GM to write this in the official forums and so i will.
Like the title says spectator mode in GW Original is not working. It doesn’t show any matches being played. It has been like this for a week or so.

Another thing i want to report is HACKERS. I know you don’t support the game anymore but hackers, instainterrupters, goldsellers, titlesellers, etc, etc. Are making this game literally UNPLAYABLE and UNFAIR. I just want to know if this is going to continue happening or you are going to do something about it. It would be nice to have a healthy community and a healthy ingame chat to make more people play/ come back.

Lastly and as a suggestion, you can move some PVP resources into GW Original since there’s no competition anymore and you are going to make it automated. I am not talking about money to compete but some people to mantain PVP free of sh*tppl and that stuff. Balance is hard to reach in a pve mmo, ask Ghostcrawler if you don’t trust me!

To me WvW should be guild based, not server based. GvG was pushed hard in GW1, but it was never as popular as hall of heroes or random arena. The PvP game mode that was DOA from the start was team arenas. Probably the most popular were the casual PvP modes in factions.

It was never as popular as HA because ppl asked for RANK to enter guilds, so ppl tried to get Rank first (and of course to spam /rank to ppl). There was no way to measure how good/bad you were in GvG unless you played in >12XX points to get champ points (and that was much later). That made GvG really elitist and if you came new it was so difficult to get a decent guild. HA was more accesible for anyone to play and get to HoH.
I was lucky to get R3 alone “fast” and started a r3+ guild (leader was r5 an we were like :O) with some people an grew together as a team. But that is what online games are about right? Making friends, get better together and become good friends…

Anyway, of course Arenanet needs to make GvG’s become a thing, but GW1 ones, no powercreep, no imbalance cuz of pve, just a PVP oriented game with some PVE to show off. Better graphics and online purchases to make it EASY. GW2 is a PVE game and has its own place. Trust in your games like Blizzard does (Heroes 2.0, Starcraft remaster, ingame and crossgame rewards, etc.) copy them if needed they do it too lol!

This may be my inner fanboy speaking (Or the 5k hours cough cough) but the game is definitely worth 60$.

Playing through all 4 campaigns will probably take you at least 100hrs. (150-200 if doing some side quests) And that is with one character only, no hardmode, no titles, no friends to play elite content and dungeons, no farming for some nice looking gear and no PvP (okay this one is basically non existant these days)

That being said though I really wouldn’t mind them putting it on discount to get some new players into it who maybe haven’t seen it yet. And it’s not like goldsellers or bots could get any worse…

I’m with you on that, but still. The game is indeed a decade old and might not get any content updates in the future plus there is no trial – it’s a blind investment that doesn’t sound all that appealing despite the game itself being awesome.

To say it puts GW2 pvp to shame is what I would consider the biggest understatement ever.

Every time I see those vids I begin hating ANet all over again for creating this mainstream garbage in comparison.

Look what you threw away… imagine how huge the esport scene would be in GW1 TODAY, hell esport was completely new back then and people went crazy for GvG.

I not talking about GW1 I’m talking about GW2 you know the most infamous casual non P2W PvE MMORPG on the market. You are begging PvPers who want no part in such mockery to return to the one thing that they hated so much they’ve lefted regardless of how much time and money they’ve invested into this game. But yeah you can do like the rest and ignore such statements.

Facts are that GW2’s PvP is nowhere near fun, skill-based, or competitive as other PvP games on the market.

- GW2 PvE game mode’s are far far more valued. Then their PvP counter parts will ever be. (This alone is a huge part of the problem)

-GW2’s PvP has no balance team, and the PvE balance team only balances every 3 to 6 months. While other PvP games balances every 2 to 4 weeks sometimes faster should something be completely broken in their PvP. With complete Meta shifts every 3 months. (This is a big contributor to the state of the current day GW2’s PvP community.)

- GW2’s Business model is to sell power creep to make players effortlessly more powerful. Other PvP games just sell skins and XP bonus gains. (Which turns off many competitive PvPers, and prevents them from having a thought about returning.)

- GW2’s Ranked PvP Leagues are very Troll and Hacker friendly. In GW2 people purposely trolling matches are allowed to continue trolling match nearly Ad Infinitum with little to no recourse. In PvP games these players would have been suspended if not had their accounts perma-banned.

So again I’ll ask. How do you expect to pull players, who lefted GW2 for other PvP games, back without solving these issues? Sorry man/women but if you think by just advertising GW2, or offering more PvE rewards are going to pull these players back. Then you are more naive then I, and that is saying something.

TL/DR :

The only chance in hell ANet will get a shot, at pulling these players back to GW2. Is only when ANet completely resolves all of the issues that forced these players to leave for other PvP games, or MMORPGs in the first place.

We missunterdstood each other man. I’m talking to come back to GW1! even louder now that 2 “has been slain” PVP-wise . I think that GW2 is a MMO PVE oriented game and PVP in those games NEVER work. The first post asks for a F2P only for PVP accounts in GW1 to make people come back/to try. I also think that GW1 has one of the best PVP’s ever and with minor tweaks (and eager?) can make it to the esports (or at least do better than GW2, wich pretty ez).

I bought gw2 when it was released. They got enough from me i think. They are different games and CAN co-exist one as a nice and coloured pve game (with extras) and the other as a competitive pvp focused game (with extras).
