After reading through all those posts (in english and german forums) at work for the couple of days and after watching the ingame chat, listening to my guildmates etc. i think that this what the community really wants and it´s what Anet promised.

Chris Whiteside can write us or Mike and tell us, that it´s a gear treadmill, but it wouldn´t matter. We don´t want legendaries to become better than exotics and we don´t want ascended gear to have better stats than exotics.

- exotic = max stat gear
- legendary = same stats as exotic, but “cool, unique look”
- new dungeons with new mechanics / puzzles / boss tactics
- new cosmetic skins for those new dungeons
- new titles if you beat parts of the dungeon / beat the dungeon
- components that drop in dungeons, that can be crafted into new armor skins, weapon skins etc.

how do you make money?
- sell magic find potions that increase the drop chance of those components
- more unique skins only obtainable in the BLT
- character makeover kits
- constantly new magic chest items that have a small chance to drop and appear in time limited events
- character slots
- inventory and bank slots
- player shop license: place a shop at your location and sell your stuff without trading fee

New content? Why should people care about exotics and runes if they can grind ascension stuff? The old dungeons will be dead, because everyone rushes to the ascension dungeon.

At least this way exotics will remain compeditive and ascended gear will remain useful for it’s apparent purpose with infusions in that one dungeon you’re adding.

I’m sure more than a few players would be relieved if this were the case, I know I’d be one of them.

And they already said, that ascended is better than exotic, so i assume that ascended will be better than exotic + runes.

If you hope not, it means that we lose all the variety we had with runes. Ascended gear stats are better than exotic plus runes as far as we know:

- makes other dungeon armor worthless

- makes runes with all it´s variability worthless

Too much text. I’m against ascended gear but you forgot to count the stats from runes.

We don’t know the stats of infusions yet, but they might not have stats like +power, they only increase your damage defenses etc against those new mobs (which is a lame new mechanic IMO).

The things that make me angry is:

- I need a new set of gear for a new zone
- legendaries will be buffed above exotics

Yes, but it isn’t even a -huge- stat gap. Not to mention they are going to release it in stages and not all at once.

The complaints about it were -mostly- based around the fact that people -thought- it would result in a gear treadmill. That isn’t the case, as they have pointed out.

Now if you’re going to make that big of a deal over a tiny stat difference then -wow-, just -wow-.

Oh -also- they are going to release it for other aspects of content as well. WvW and whatever else. Chill your kitten, seriously.

It doesn’t matter how huge the gap is, it feels like that I have to get it.

And you don’t wear only one piece of ascended armor, did you know that there are 6 equipment slots + 6 accessory and backpack?

I can’t say too much just yet, but we’re doing some work related to rewards and character progression in WvW even now. It will be a little while before we’re ready to talk about more details though. Rewards, progression, and incentives for play are hot topics around the office. We all care about this stuff and once we have some more details hammered out we’ll let you all know what we’re up to.

Progression is not better stats, that’s not what we want. We would be happy though if you come up with new title/ ranks in wvw and new cosmetic items.

It’s not only the 50/60 stat difference that pisses me off, she even said that they buff legendaries above exotics. Legendaries used to be cosmetic items for those who like them. I don’t want to be forced to grind to get a legendary for better stats, I’m happy with my whisper gear and enjoyed the game like it was.

If Anet introduces these changes (ascended gear that I have to wear in a specific zone and buffed legendaries), they’ll lose another disapointed customer.

Finally we got rid of VZ, but now Deso is nightcapping. The respect i had for Deso is gone!
WvW is ruined in this game! Period!
Gw2 is really living on the last chance from me (ps2 released soon). They need to fix wvw very soon, otherwise they loose alot of players.

If you like kyrillic signs and russians, Baclktide is the place to be! Now seriously, i thought it´s a russian server? Used to play in BWE1 on Blacktide and it was flooded with signs i could not read and i see a lot of russians guilds in WvW.

IRON is a fantastic guild with great leadership, i wish i could play during daytime, but work started this week for me again and i´m having big withdrawals!

IRON is a hardcore WvW guild and there are some other hardcore wvw guilds too and yes, i think they are elitists when it comes to WvW. So what´s your point? Don´t like playing with harcore WvW players? Transfer off, we want to win against the best of the best and that´s why we are happy to have RUIN on our server.

And about the DSC… i´m sorry, but they did nothing, it was a first step into nothing.

like any other classes who use damage skills + haste. nerf haste please.

My personal opinion about skills that hit that high (not only backstab) is, that they should all be nerfed. no class should be able to 1 hit others.

Syntax, RUIN doesnt have all 2000 members on our server. We welcome them on our server, since WvW is a 24/7 battleground, which you obviously do not want. If you want to be competitive against other highly active wvw servers like vizunah or arborstone, we need guilds from other timezones, that´s why we had negotations with a thai guild… Deso is becoming a world server!

Probably frustrated, still very lame of them using an exploit on AB.

I really don’t understand why a guild like RUIN would move to an EU server to WvGate while the rest of the matchup is asleep. Sounds to me like having no real opposition would get boring as hell pretty quickly.

wvw is 24/7, the best servers all have nightcrews, ask the frenchies with their canadians at vizunah and arborstone.

I had that several times, guardians/warriors disappearing in downed state and wont come back and there was noone around to stealth them etc, i tab targeted and aoed the area.

What an amazing comeback Desolation had this week and with Ruin on our site and all the organisation that we setup by now, i think we´ll give the french a great fight, the next time we face them.

If you would fix the game, we wouldnt have to report them. Increse the altar of powers HP so that no single person can kill it or make it only vulnerable if the keep lord is down!

Not really, Tyu, if you would be more experienced, you would know that mesmers can hide inside a keep/tower and portal ppl inside. If you dont do mesmer sweeps after you took something, its your fault.

Sea homeland – A 5-6 man from same guild from Desolation took 1 tower and our garrison by a mesmer teleporting in and portaling everyone out in.

I have no issues with the server but the way they defend these things (whole zerg is there) is just sad. Seems they are desperate to get a few points.

show us those screenshots so that we can report the possible hacker. mesmers porting in a keep doesnt mean that they hacked though. its called tactics.

It got worse than better:

- completely invidible characters enemies and own players
- Guardian nerf
- Thief nerf
- Ranger nerf

Good job Anet, nerfing Pistol Whip while Backstab can one shot ppl….

Just wow, i don´t understand that change, especially if you look at skills like whirlwind or hundred blades. I´d like to know why Anet thought this skill is overpowered, it´s hard to land and takes some time to reach max damage. It also needs an enemy standing still.

Those legendaries are meant to be that…legendary. I don´t want to see everyone running around with a legendary in the next 6 months, so i like how it currently is.
