3. Does Arenanet not respect property rights?
User agreement says otherwise.
It’s their property and you’re renting under their terms and conditions, so no, it’s not fraud.
I would however really like that upcoming change not to happen.
Mixing and matching town clothes is too much fun
I posted on the really long thread because i feel it cannot easily be ignored anymore
My toons town clothing is all mix-and-match and i love the way they look now.
Everyone who has Charr will agree that it’s especially hard to find good outfits for them.
If it really gets changed, I’d be quite sad.
( attachments in my link )
All my town cloth outfits are mixed and matched.
I love the way they look now since it’s especially hard to find good outfits for Charr.
I think giving people the freedom to mix and match really adds to the game!
1) Mad Kings + Horns (I can’t remember what event they were from anymore, sorry)
+ Drill Toy
2) Ringmaster’kitten + Witches outfit – Bouquet of Roses Toy
3) The cook’s outfit muzzle + Blood Prince everything else
I wholeheartedly agree with this thread
Did you come up with this idea yourself or did you steal mine?
He stole three, tossed two aside and used this one to post it here!
I like it, that should definitely be a thing.
If we can do a “precursor quest” here and there, bang, got a precursor, what is so different to free precursor? For example, someone suggested AP chest, its a matter of time, so everyone can get a precursor, and everyone go craft their legendary.
Everyone who has played the game for long enough will be able to get a precursor, and indeed they should.
They are Veterans of the game. They have played the game and done the things that earned them AP.
The most frustration comes from exactly these players. They have played the game so much in fact, that they have all the materials laying about for a legendary to craft.
Let them have their precursor.
Let them earn it through playing the game and not because they farmed the gold for it. Farming isn’t legendary, nor is flipping the TP.
On the other hand 10k AP is a year worth of actually playing the game.
Just do it, please.
So the purpose of this post is asking why they’re going through with these nerfs, as far as i can tell its just because condition PU builds can actually stand up to meta, then again it just seems as though they’re pushing us to play PU more due to how we’ll need boon duration for the vigor and how crit damage will be weak, someone make sense of this mess.
Yeah, there’s no way Illusions are going to stay up in that.
I’m not sure how a condition PU build would help with that though.
well yes there are builds out there but most of the build diversity is for 1v1 a, roaming and spvp.
most of those builds dont work well in wvw raids. yes u get to stay alive and yes maybe deal a little dmg, but in a zergfight….nah. i play spvp, tpvp but 90% of the time i run with a zergbusting guild around. my role is veil and tw and thats it. if i want i can gank a few casters, but honestly thats not really my role. thief is the one that can gank casters way better than us. we are light armor class with ai and huge lack of aoe dmg.
all i want is a few options to spec into aoe dmg that is not ai based. dmg that doesnt involve ai. shatters are nice if u take ip, because illusions die often before they even reach a target in a zergfight. the phantasms get that 1 attackchain and then they die. so my main dmg vs a zerg is pretty much every 20 sec a berserker( cause thats the only one that isnt bugged atm and does hit multiple targets).
then shatter builds are great but u still need to get into a more dangerous range and it will still lack dmg due to clones and phantasms dying in aoe.
since glamour got nerfed to the ground, i tried almost every single build out there, but im just not feeling it anymore.
I must admit i don’t have much WvW experience, but from what i’m getting from a PvE point a view regarding zerg fights… they are the WORST.
I really don’t know why this game is encouraging these kind of fights so much. Their own classes really don’t seem to be designed for it! Certainly not all of them.
Some Mesmers on this forum however posted great WvW videos and really almost all of them were small group roaming. Maybe that’s where it’s at? Maybe only join the zergs for flipping keeps etc. and then split up again? But ss i said – i don’t have much experience.
I heard a couple of times that Mesmers get used in zergs for a couple of their utilities (Portal, Veil and Mass Invisibility etc.) but isn’t that great?
We bring something very unique to the table that can be used to your great tactical advantage!
But generally i do get what you’re saying. The only thing i can think of to avoid this problem, is to avoid a zerk.
And if it makes you feel any better, we’re not the only ones suffering heavily from them.
I really have to disagree.
I play Mesmer myself, ONLY Mesmer. The reason why i do that is because there are so so so many builds out there for this class that are interesting, viable and fun!
There are Shatter builds, Interrupt builds, Condition builds and ofc PU builds and they’re all viable for PvP and WvW.
I’m currently running a non-PU condition build focused on confusion in tournaments.
I also believe a strong build is only half the win. It needs someone to press the right buttons at the right time behind the Mesmer too. . Personally it took me the longest to figure out how to play the builds that focus on interrupts. It takes patience but once you get a “feel” for timing and the timing of skills from others, it’s very rewarding.
Mostly however i do play Shatter builds tho, just like you. They’re very strong builds,
BUT not only you get better at the game, your opponents do too.
You can counter it, if you know how and you can counter PU just as much.
Last but not least i really think the game designers don’t rub their hands in anticipation for the next Mesmer nerf. And after they pushed a nerf through, i don’t imagine them laughing hysterically and plotting the next thing against us.
They try to balance the game… and a big game it is.
I can’t stress enough how big of a quality of life change it would be if I didn’t have to worry if my skills will actually work when I’m trying to kill someone.
THIS
In general the higher the skill level of the enemy the less it matters. It used to be a big deal, but by now most experienced players have gotten used to asura. I played asura, norn and charr with the same specs and i haven’t noticed being targeted less.
In teamfights it’s mostly about calling targets and aoe. If you get focused it won’t matter much if you are asura or charr.
I believe, that being able to pick out a specific cast animation on an Asura to interrupt it, in the middle of a fight, has nothing to do with skills.
Asura dissapear behind spell effects, minions, turrets and other pieces of fluff…
Things other races simply stand out from.
If you have a build that relies on interrupting the enemies heal etc. you’re gonna have a bad time.
The advantage is real, even if you are running with an asura and stop it flails around a bit looking like a cast animation. The size helps obscure actual animations. Playing an asuran is like drinking a potion that increases your ability to land attacks. Its not limited to pet classes, in a team fight and anywhere with large particle effects you will notice an ease of playing and hitting when you use an asura.
Definately that.
I’m playing a Lock-Down Mesmer. There’s little to no chance of seeing when an Asura casts and what he’s casting in the middle of a fight.
If it isn’t a 1v1 i simply won’t target Asura, which is really bad.
Means they get away with it just because they’re small and my build is made for interrupts.
After having played p/d for a few weeks now, i went back to 10/0/30/0/30 just like you said.
You can adapt nicely on the fly by switching some traits around and i’m loving it. My initiative problems are gone, and WvW is so much fun!
..and i almost have all my dire gear together
Those two posts above helped a great deal. Thanks ever so much.
I tried 0/0/30/20/20 at first and it already felt really great, even tho i had little to no idea which support skills to take.
Today i’m ready to try this:

I’m a bit hessitent to use steal, but i will have to learn using it frequently since it benefits greatly from this build.
I think i will also miss having “feline grace”. It feels good to have it… especially as a Charr
I kinda had 5 points left after having a good think about it and decided to put it into trickery for lead attacks.
I tend to have a little bit of initiative problems when i’m in the middle of a hot fight but that’s maybe just because i’m new to the class. It’s all about finding the right “rythm” i guess!
I recently became a huge fan of the pistol/dagger combo and invested into full dire gear/weapons with dire trinkets comming next.
The only thing i’m missing is a build that goes with it.
I have played the venom share build for a while since that was the only build that featured pistol/dagger and it’s good fun! ..but there’s only so much you can do with it. I’m looking for a PvP / WvW build here that has a bit more utility.
Any help would be appreciated.
easily one of the most powerful and THE most survivable spvp build.
That is the build I have been running with as well. Havent tried much in PVP with it but I have seen it in videos. Just tears through enemies. Loving it so far at level 60.
In PvE, which gear would you go for with this build?
It’s almost what i was looking for.
