Does GW2 have the content to keep a large player base?

All I have to say that since I started playing Guild Wars 2 it has never yet failed to amaze, delight and surprise me. I have four characters all under level 20 (17, 2,19, 8 and a level 23). I have at most with one toon 11% map completion and considering the massive amount of de’s, hearts, vista discovery’s etc I have done and haven’t really even scratched the surface of the zones i have quested in I would say on a personal level it has an insane amount of content that is going to keep me very, very busy for many months to come. Because you see, unlike the other game, there is a inordinate amount of fun and surprises in store for you if you actually play the game as intended, that is quest in and explore each zone to completion. then move to the next etc etc. also the fun replayability when you take a race to a diff start zone. This game is not “ignore the the bulk of the game in a rush to cap so you can raid”. This is an actual game you play while you get to cap. I really could go on for hours about the cool de’s i stumbled upon I didnt even know were there when i went through with another toon. The point i am making (i think) is this game is not for the WoW crowd and thats fine with me so i think the WoW crowd should respect those of us who play this game and not point out to us how different WoW is or better it is than this, when they are both totally different games. I played WoW for five years as did my wife, just got bored and sick of playing until I stumbled on this. We thought we were WoW addicts (and we were lol) but this game has given us a new, deadlier and free addiction (mostly). As for those who say “there is no content” I counter :- are you sure we are playing the same game??

Hmmm… it seems from a lot of posts i am reading in different threads A “i am in a beta test” bandwagon has been jumped on…lol…i expect a lot of this until some new form of negativity arises. Thank you Anet for a wonderful game and the hard work you are putting into it. Keep up the good work (oh and by the way the “seems i am in a beta test” is common amongst all new games forums released recently)

I log out cause i am finished playing for the day full to the brim of fun being had and in my personal experience seeing very few “bots”. I think the “bots are everywhere” is something certain posters run with for their own reasons, whatever they may be. GW2 4 eva!!!!

For me it is the awesome surprises you find when you actually go exploring the map. The point that looks like a dead end but when u get to it a mob is guarding a rich copper vein or best yet a chest. this game rewards you for going off the beaten (to death) path. Kudos Arenanet just kitten loads of kudos. Not a nook or a cranny I will leave unfound!!!

K, let’s just have no sense of accomplishment, ever again, and slap a fun sticker on it! are you sure you are not a game scientist? you sure know the meaning of fun.

I must. I’ve been having fun playing the game. I also think board games are fun, as is riding a bike, taking my girlfriend on dates, watching football with friends, and many things that I don’t get +5 extra strength for.

I play because for me it is fun to go exploring in a fantasy world what with all the random adventures that I get into. The game not having an “!” over npc heads at quest hubs makes it a little more immersive for me, and not having to worry about gear gives me a sense of adventuring just for the sake of it.

But I suppose the world has a place for people who strive to make accomplishments fun. Most my friends who have fun by accomplishing things do so at work, and the more money they make the more fun they have. Perhaps you should try that? Better than “accomplishing” something in a virtual world which equates to jack kitten.

OOHH Okay, i get it.
If it’s fun for you, it has to be fun for other people too right?
Because lets face it because you’re the leading authority on the subject matter of fun.

The value of fun is determined by you.
Clearly theres something wrong with the people whose expectations of fun differs from yours, clearly.

Munchkin is more fun at the moment than PVE GW2

so going on your logic if it isn’t fun for you it shouldn’t be fun for us??
or i think what i am trying to say what is fun for you should be what is fun for us??

Personally i got sick of paying a subscription to a game that makes approx $120,000,000 a month (about $1,440,000,000 a year) based on average of 8,000,000 subs paying $15 a month, that still makes you pay for expansions and gives you very little content in return for your loyalty (read money). For kitten’s sake they still using years old character models with very little customisation and i can speak from personal experience absolutely no fun grinding honor points for pvp gear when you finally get full set after weeks of playing just for a new patch to hit that makes that gear redundant because a new tier is introduced so you start over. like I said not fun at all and main reason I left. Now here i can pvp without the grind for gear where my skills are tested not gear score.

“endgame” equals WoW conditioning…rats in a hazy maze…I am so glad I broke free of the repetitiveness that is wow (10 months sober) Thank you for your wonderful game. The use of the word “fanboys” or similar immediately leads me to dismiss the comments made by those who use them as it offers no constructive thought to do so and is used as a veiled (sometimes poorly) insult to those who enjoy a particular game, akin to playground taunts like "puts thumbs in ears and wriggles fingers " nicky nicky noo noo". Keep up the good work devs and again thank you for giving us a game with depth of GAMEPLAY and story and lore which is interesting and entertaining.
